  • It took 10 minutes of blabbering until he mentioned the Hollies.

  • 4:39 is that billie joe armstrong?

  • holy cr@p, stevie... enough already, taking too much time away from the hollies! stop yammering and get the hollies on stage.

  • Graham kinda reminds me of Charlie Chaplin here. (That is NO insult, by the way)

  • @Pumarisi124 It's a compliment of the highest order! Graham is of similar stature and class.

  • what an amazing speech by stevie.he is so right the grammys suckand so do the ama's

  • thank you alan graham bobby bernie tony and eric....your music is timeless

  • its too bad that bobby and tony could not be there you are right ...it has been so long and it is so great that they are finally there and should have been long ago....i remember having an original lp of stop stop stop as a kid that i had bought ....wonder what it would be worth now........thanks you for taping this .....

  • What an absolute BUMMER that Tony Hicks and Bobby Elliott weren't present that night!!

  • @dumont1957 Actually, it was. It disappointed Nashie, too!

  • I absolutely love the Hollies and they finally made it....my other favorite band from the same era is the The Moody Blues who are completely different but boy they need to be inducted too... my two cents

  • @ocarrington i agree the fact that the moodys are not there is a travisty ..they are one of the biggest grossing bands as far as their live showws and are truly influencial and original with their sound

  • @zuck21 The Moody Blues are fantastic and should be there, too. So should the Guess Who!

  • great intro speech by little steven

  • Do these awards have their names engraved on them? Just wondering as it looks like Bernie and Terry switch awards.

  • @suebee3490 Yes, Sue. Their names are engraved on them.

  • I know which are Graham, Alan, and Terry, but which one is Bernie Calvert - the bald-headed man or the heavyset one with white hair?

  • @suebee3490 Bernie is the bald-headed one. The heavyset one with the white hair is their original bassist, Eric Haydock.

  • Too bad Bobby and Tony couldn't make it.Tony Hicks is way to underrated

  • It might have been nice if Small Steven had truncated his sermonette and talked more about the Hollies. I don't get why Hicks and Elliott couldn't resched one gig and show up and I also think it was odd that there was no video of Terry Sylvester. HOWEVER, good on The Hollies. They shoulda been in a long time ago!

  • @MSmith1277 I too thought it was odd that there was no video showing Terry. Could have showed the band members with Terry when Allan was singing the bit of Long Cool Woman. Oh well - I'm glad they are in - they deserve it.

  • @MSmith1277 It's too bad things turned out like they did. I think internecine acrimony had a lot to do with them not getting in sooner, even though Graham Nash's roots were there and the Hollies were better than Buffalo Springfield in the Graham Nash era (and almost as good as CSN became).

  • To speak with the words of Allan Clarke on his solo album from 1980: "Legendary heroes never die"

  • Well done Steven. Congratulations to a great band....THE HOLLIES. It's ABOUT TIME!

  • @rocktenniscat You are right. It took forever and a day! Hard to believe since they were always such a Shoo-in.

  • THE HOLLIES the music in person.

  • The Hollies entry into the Hall of Fame is so well deserved.... they had so many really good songs with superb harmonies.

Having seen Graham Nash last summer, his distinctive voice is still sounding good and has a very pleasant personality to match! Allan Clarke is looking pretty good too!

    CONGRATULATIONS TO THE HOLLIES!!!

  • Who is that at 5:02?

  • @ poopaloo55 At 5:02 thats Eddie vedder

from pearl jam...i hope they get inducted next year with nirvana

  • @Grunge2009

    Thanks mate!

  • @Grunge2009 - Hey those are two fantastic bands. I am almost 60, and I love them. 'Had privilege of seeing Pearl Jam with Kings of Leon opening a few years ago...alas, never got to see Nirvana.

  • Thank you so very much for the YouTube of The Hollies!!! It is great to see

Allan Clarke and to see that he is as gracious, humble, and witty as he has always been. He (and all of the Hollies) are eternally youthful. God bless them one and all!!!

  • Allan looks great for a man approaching 70! He has so much charm and charisma and when I listen to He aint heavy - his voice is just magical and he rocks on Long cool woman

  • This was SO great! Thanks So much for posting it! Such joy was felt for these guys..

  • What so many of us Hollies's fans wished for-and our wish came true! :)

  • I wish that Little Steven had done a speech like he had done for the Rascals.

  • Thank you Vrinda - This is so wonderful, so emotional and so iconic - Very tearful when Steve said Allan, Tony, Graham, Bobby, Terry, Eric and Bernie had been inducted - Amazing !!!

  • @carrieanne1967 And great that all the members got in. Each contributed to the band when he joined.

  • An unforgettable night!!!

A grand prize for a great band!!!!

    Thrill to review ALLAN CLARKE!!!!!!!!!

    Thank you Vrinda

  • My heart is full when Allan says 'Dad...I'm being inducted into...a museum!' Longevity indeed. What a thought; what an honour. Vrinda, I will treasure this video.

  • Somebody needs to post a full-sized jpeg of the photo at 4:58 to the message board, stat!

  • Thanks Vrinda for posting this! As I was watching Allan and Graham give their speech, tears were welling up in my eyes (again!) for them. I'm so happy for these guys! Well deserved and long overdue.

    Sandy

  • Thanks Vrinda for sharing this! This is so cool that The Hollies finally assumed their place in the Rock Hall. It's about time-they should have been in years ago. It was great to see Graham Nash next to Allan Clarke again! Excellent! Ron

  • Wonderful stuff! Do you have part two (rest of the speeches + 3 songs?). Someone is sending me a DVD of this but I can't wait! : )

  • Thanks a million

  • Thanks for uploading this priceless footage Vrinda. :)

  • I second that, well done pet and thank you!!!

  • Long overdue for this great band!

  • Check out Allan shaking hands with Bernie at 7:35. It's as if they hadn't seen each other in years!

  • @sapphiretaurus they probably hadn't seen each other since 1981!

  • @katdowli Terry also puts his arm around Allan at that moment, too! How lovely!

  • @sapphiretaurus I never saw that until you mentioned it. I also like when Steve Van Zandt mentions Tony being underated Allan definitely shows his appreciation for him at 4:16 :)

  • @katdowli Also someone in the audience says "yes, yes yes" when Stevie mentions Tony being underrated. Wondering was tht Allan saing that or just someone in the audience?

  • @suebee3490

I put my headphones on and listened...it actually sounded like Graham Nash's voice. So I downloaded the clip and ran it through an equalizer to listen again...it STILL sounds like Graham Nash. I may be wrong, but that is what who it sounds like to me.

  • @suebee3490 I think that's straight out of Nashie's mouth....

  • Couldn't you cry with pride? I could, actually I think I am!!!

  • @PollieHollie67

I'm still so excited by this.

  • @PollieHollie67 I am, too! It's a dream come true.

  • Absolutely incredible!! A longtime coming and 100% deserved by our wonderful Hollies....yay!!!!
