  • Love that GG1 sitting in background. Many times in 70's rode behind one f those and NE corridor

  • That E diesel, I saw them run on the BM&R in 1987. BM&R owned/leased a pair that were bought from Amtrak. The horn on them was loud and they ran fast, 50 MPH!

  • Also, there are currently no operating Reading steam, either with BMR/RBMN 2102 out of service since Oct. 1991.

  • So the Museum and the SRR have no relationship other than back in 1975 the SRR let the state build the museum next to their property? The museum leased 1223 and the 7002 to the SRR until 1989? 7002 entered service in 1983, it had a very short life at the RR, 7 years. It's a shame that NONE of the PRR steam locomotives run. The only operating PRR steam is at William's Grove, PA. 1361 was taken apart and needs major work. I saw all of 'em in action! 1223, 7002 1981-1985, and 1361 at York, PA 1988

  • couldnt they start them up and drive them bushing them is so gey thumbs up if you agree

  • Fire 'em up!!!! If the don't run it's like a relic in a church. FIRE 'EM UP!!!!

  • strasburg should electrify some of thier track so they can use the gg1s and rectifier

  • Great to see the CC electric loco again - used to see it hauling the freight on the NE Corridor way back when.

  • Awesome! Although that is not how we say Strasburg, hahaha.

  • great video than you for posting

  • The 5901 sure is pretty! The sound like they were creaking a bit. :-)

  • Love to see these old vintage machines neatly refurbished! France should take good note. Bravo!

  • Sweet Vids!

  • thats cute seeing that little plymouth pushing that E8 LOL and it would be cool to see that E44 running under its own power and catanery

  • sweet

  • ive never seen that green engine their before, and i was up there acouple months ago

  • i know this is arrogant to say but it looks like the rails are in worse shape than the engines. they look like they are 50yrs old

  • @howardkevinm, most of them are 50 or older years old

  • Cool! Powerful little plymouth

  • Great Vid...Keep 'em coming!!

  • The green Plymouth was restored by and owned/operated by the museum and is not owned by that railroad across the street. It was their solution for moving things around so it wouldn't cost as much getting the guys across the street to move everything.

  • Is that 'Old Rivets' at 2:26?

  • i dont think it is, i dont see and signs of rivets on that gg1, i think it may have been 4935

  • Bsides the pennsylania railroad surviving the new york central has a surviving F3A

  • I love the horns on the switchers, especially the critter, they're bigger than the engines themselves!!! LOL.

  • is the green engine plymouth 1 or 2 repainted or is it a completely new engine?

  • i would've thought that NS would've taken PRR 5901 which is a very special what is it called again i 4get and i would've thought that they would bring them into service with the other 1's which i truthfully think they should aw man only if you were there to catch them move the GG1 i have always loved the GG1 and hope they bring it back into service somehow if they did i would great love that!!!

  • Love your videos. Ive been there very cool place

  • first came the engine. Then came the bug!!

  • That E-44 has Dofasco trucks!

  • nice vid. never saw that green industrial switcher before. those rails sounded like they were about to fall apart!

  • its a PRR 44toner, its the switcher there

  • Nice shots Ed, It's fun when you happen to be there when something special like this occurs. I was down here in Strasburg on vacation several years ago when I caught wind of the railroad's new aquisition, the #475. I found it sitting, dismantled on flatcars at Dillersville yard in Lancaster. I saw it being interchanged the next day betweeen Conrail and Strasburg Railroad, and hauled in to Strasburg yard. I got a lot of still pics of the whole event.

  • Cool Ed. I'm a member there at the museum. I'm glad someone cought the action on video. I was there the day they moved the M-1 from out front to out back, you should had heard the rails creek. lol.

  • Town is called Strasburg (say it like straws-burg).

    PRR 4eva!!

But yet, I've never saw PRR run.

    I Love PRR!!

  • I've heard it pronounced straws-burg and strazz-burg... I usually just say strass-burg. Anyone know the correct pronunciation?

  • The Pennsyvania Dutch locals pronounce it "Shtrrassboorg"

  • There's another railroad museum in downtown Altoona, Pennsylvania.

  • Nice! Also, don't forget that the last EMD E7 in existence is in this museum.

  • wow,it's kinds fun to see an electric loc. come off

wireand have a push from its rival: the Diesel

  • Great video. Looks like it's time to make a trip again.

  • That was a awesome catch, them moving the locomotives. I just hope they go back inside. Look at the K4 now, and what it used to look like back a few years ago...

  • Good looking power all around. Even those little critters look good.

  • Ed....Shame those locos weren't under their own power, but nice to see them just the same...Better than scrapped or rotting in a field somewhere....

  • Wow, cool stuff.
