I have heard and seen both Ramey and Guleghina in live performances and the voives are huge and fantastic as they should be for the type of roles they sing.

@Gioachino82 Mi ornava molto complicato di non gridare in questa Opera, Odabela di Attila, o Abigaille di Nabucco, sono i due ruoli di soprano drammatica, dove occorre più il dare della voce e continuamente tutto lungo l'opera. In compenso la tua critica e facile.
Brava!!!! el color presiso para Odabella, Guleghina en vivo es fenomenal, este rol debio haber sido un deleite en vivo, Ramey estupendo porsupuesto no es el Mismo Attila de hace 10 años atras, pero asi es esto, aun asi su voz muestra gran presencia al rol, el Rol de Uldino es para un tenor secundario no es gran cosa, no tienen que poner a un star tenor para el rol :)
Guleghina is such a horrible hot mess. Why does she have a career? She has no flexibility vocally, or the power to singing the Verdi heroines without sounding like she's about to kill her vocal chords.
ugh, where have all the real opera lovers gone? she just sounds like, and being loud isn't impressive. it's wielding your voice like a seamless weapon with grace, yet declamatory power that is.
@josephlemon to be fair, this role is really just a killer. I'm not sure if I've ever heard a perfect rendition of this aria. Guleghina probably should not be singing this repertory. I wish she tried German. She could be a terrifying Salome :)
@robertdonkers Unfortunately this is true. Her Odabella in the performance on DVD from La Scala, however, is to my ear wonderful. It was recorded over 20 years ago though. The same production (but with the wonderful Neil Shicoff as Foresto rather than the tenor on the DVD) is quite good, too. Ramey always was the best Attila, though you can hear the wear and tear starting in his voice in this YouTube video from 2001.
