Yeah, "another left turn" racing, not HILLCLIMBING, thats for BMW and FIAT and general all types of European cars, not american. They can do well in a straight, but they have not handling. I assure you, dont come with that zr1 bullshit, that "record" at Nürburgring doesnt tell anything about HANDLING, so please, accept facts, americans cant make handling cars.
@2URBO2 Do some google research on KONI Challenge, The World Challange, American Iron series, Trans Am series, etc... you will see FR500 Mustangs running with (and sometimes beating)BMW and Porsche teams... Or do some research on the Pontiac GTO-R from 2006. But you might already know this if you follow sanctioned road racing...
Have you driven a late-model Mustang or Camaro... they actually handle quite well. Its just Drag racing is such a popular sport in the US.
Well, then your "awsome cars" are fine tuned, and not original ones, which proves what i say. I have driven a corvette, and been in a mustang, they understeer, and whobble like a bus. Only the engine is doing some business, but it aint good either, so a camaro beating a bmw? No. Not original, thats for sure.
Let me know when americans have coil springs from factory, and direct injection, unibody and interior not of 90% plastic.
@2URBO2 Your last statement shows a lack of knowledge, Mustang and Camaro have everything you say, coil springs, uni-body, direct injection.... I have always though that Camaros were very plasticy though. But we are talking about performance, road racing and handling, not comfort... Please do a little research is all I'm asking man. And I'm not even talking about the higher-end stuff like, Shelby GT500, Roush, Saleen, SVT Cobra.
Look @ my channel, I have some American road racing videos...
@2URBO2 Camaro-Mustang have Macpherson style strut and coil spring suspensions from the factory... Camaro has factory torque arm and pan-hard rod suspension components from the factory.... read up on this stuff man, you might have a bit more respect for American cars on the road course. Are better yet, actually drive one. And not a 1970s model or V6 economy version. Drive a Z28 or a GT, or better again if you can get in the seat of a Saleen, Roush, SVT Cobra, GT500 or Super Snake...
@2URBO2 come on man, do some research on the 3rd & 4th generation F-body pan-hard bar...LOL!!!! before making comments. Leafsprings haven't been installed on a Mustang or Camaro in over 30 years.... why am I even putting effort into this???...LOL!!!! forget it, there is no hope.... good day man, it was fun....
@NedacFilms u r wasting ur time with 2URBO2, he has not a clue what he is talking about, lol, and has never been in the turns seated in a Camaro Z28 or Cobra, or he would sell his snotty ass BMW, lol
I dont even drive a bmw, and i dont like them. But i know for sure there are more driving pleasure in ANY euro car, than a sloppy 500 horsed american donutwagon.
@2URBO2 you are correct about understeer, but thats part of the fun with Pony-cars with power, using the horsepower and torque through the turns. Also while you are researching these American cars, check the G's that the Roush mustang pulls... Quite impressive, I think. I'm not giving up on you man...LOL!!! Where do you live? I'm going to pick you up and take you to Summit Point in my Mustang, then let you drive it around the track. And I think you will have new respect for these cars.
@NedacFilms Well, i know what im talking about my friend. Roush is a company that convert american technology into euro spec tech. Ex: Coil springs, and bigger disc brakes, or disc brake conversion.
I would love that, but i live in Norway, too bad. But hey, go on man.
@2URBO2 u have no idea what u are talking about, American performance cars have had coil springs for decades. and nedac is right about panhards, torque arms and mcpherson type suspensions, and is making u look real stupid. stop while ur ahead. u r talking about 1960s shit. learn about something a little b4 commenting on a subject u know nothing about dude. jeeze bro, what are u german or something? u won't quit about BMW, damn. late model american cars compete with german cars all day on tracks
Well, what about the "daily" cars? All them have leaf springs. Compare a daily vehicle with a daily driven vehicle in europe, and you'll see the difference..... Or, just rent a porsche (if you can afford) for a weekend, do some research for yourself. Everyone knows that american sportscars are like buses compared to europeans.
@2URBO2 I already stated that leaf springs haven't been used since the 1970s. All Late Model Mustangs and Camaros produced within the last 30 years have coil springs. You have no idea what you are saying, so just stop. Look at your thumb ratings beside your comments, expert, lol!!!! ratings don't lie.
With equal amount of horses, no. Corvette is not a handling car..... It is fast around tracks, but it is not a good car to drive every day...... An enzo, you can go fast on a track, and drive home in comfort, in a new corvette, the gears are uncomfy, the clutch is rubbish, the brakes are too strong, and the body is too light and fragile, you will be crushed if you crash. Thats the downside,
@2URBO2 haha when your old enough to get your license and stop watching top gear, drive a corvette so we can hear your real opinions instead of taking the words right out of jeremy clarkson's mouth
Corvettes are definitely handling cars(hence them being fast around tracks)
@SuperColossal33 Most closed minded import owners don't realize that the Camaro and Mustang are subframed pony-platformed cars that do most of their duties on road courses. From Trans Am, to endurance racing, World Challenge, KONI, NASA, SCCA, IMCA, American Iron, AIX, Camaro-Mustang Challenge, Miller Cup, Players Cup, and the list goes on.... You can't tell these people anything...LOL!!!!
I have some vintage Trans Am series DVDs, and American Iron DVDs on my website, if anyone is interested
We were the Mustang that probably ended up shutting down Beech Hillclimb.
Wife was driving the car and misjudged the last corner. Top speed as posted on a radar billboard was 117 on the last left-right for the Specials. We saw 74MPH before the crash.
It doesn't look fast at all. I'm not saying it isn't, just doesn't look. Maybe "insane hill climb" is guilty for this feeling. I don't know how the driver feel this drive, must be crazy!!
You are correct, this is a fairly tame course, the car in the video was not going but 104 mpg at the last turn and it is only a mostly stock motored 350ci, street legal Z/28. with DOT comp tires. At Sparta the same car was going airbourne.
beautiful car man and nice sound
