These videos inspired me to learn how to fly the choppers, and I have gotten most of the maneuvering down, the floor hugging and can fly along the rivers and between the trees just fine but for some reason in the videos the chopper seems to be moving a lot faster than it does for me ingame. Is there some trick to getting it to fly faster or is it just an impression I'm getting from the video?

your good at flying, those damn heli, they so hard to control for me may I get a point or 4 of how to fly one a bit better. (turning screws me up the most and actually targeting an enemy...)

I put the music over it because it originally has the VOIP chatter in the background. It was faster to get it in here at YT by just putting the music over it.

I've been working on the music-less version for a few days now, will be up today.

@oort22 It was a chopper, since in the original in-game sounds, you can hear the MG burst going off behind me after I turn. Also, the jet's MG doesn't make that kind of noise.

I'm not saying that we weren't hunted and killed by another chopper during the beta, those happened plenty of times. I loved BF2's choppers and hated BC2's. It's true, higher is better vs lower targets, but choppers are meant to strafe tanks in which lower altitude is better when hit'n'running tanks to use as concealment.

@scornie I would've also liked to keep the in-game audio, but since I have the Mumble (3rd party VOIP) in the background with chatter, I thought it it wouldn't be so nice to listen to.

However, if enough people request, I can upload this one with the original sounds and no music. I'll just add subtitles what my friend (the gunner) is saying. You don't get the chance to hear my voice, since it only records stereo :)

@oort22 Oh really? At 03:18 we were chased by a chopper, you just might notice, but when I do the turn to the left, a chain of explosions can be seen and felt. I just managed to dodge a volley of chopper MG rounds. After that, the next 5 seconds the hits we took were from the same chopper, until we came around E and saw it crash.

Also, check the gunner (link in description), in it we practically hunt enemy choppers. We weren't shot down by other choppers that often, maby few times in an hour.

Anyways, if it was a chopper, it looks like he moved onto a different target. So he was crashing when you saw him.

Don't get me wrong, you're flying was pretty good. But I was just pointing out that the reason you survived that long is because there wasn't another chopper hunting you.

You've probably played BF 2 and BF BC 2 right? In both games, chopper w/ higher altitude attacking downward has the advantage.

LOL he's just lucky there wasn't another chopper hunting him. While ground hugging chopper is good to prevent from getting shot from troops and jets, it's easy prey for enemy attach choppers

Third time I've watched this video. Can't wait for this game. Hopefully the flight characteristics for all platforms aren't made with casuals in mind. I want to fly like I could in bf2 and in bc1.

BC1 controls took some skill to be good ; )

Nice flying i must say. I've been reading alot on forums and alot of people complain that the chopper is too slow etc, but i don't agree with that, i actually like the handling of the chopper.

What annoys me is that it is so fragile and that sometimes you just flip or crash instantly from either jets or AA.. That is ofcourse a problem when you have to fly this low because if one of those knock effects occur you have no chance whatsoever to recover..

@toffe09 i actually think that the chopper is a little slow. it'd be nice if the sprint button made it go faster, like it does with tanks and other vehicles.

@toffe09 I'd agree, I absolutely love the controls. I think I'm a pretty above average pilot. Only problem is that WAY too often, I'll land it and get out to repair but somehow instantly die of "bad luck". Bull shit
