Canada has a public health care system (private if you want it) paid for by our taxes. Absolutely no interference in what health care is provided to me by my doctor/hospital. I have some questions for you:
1. Have you ever had to wait for weeks for an authorization from an insurance company? (I have never had to wait)

Government is there to support citizens - laws, infrastructure, social programs. The gulag stuff from ibuylow09 is NOT my experience in Canada - it's my grandfather's experience in Russia. I don't trust private health care like I don't trust the banks...look what's happened in the States? Canada didn't have to rescue our banks because we have regulations that protect citizens. No health care lines here. There has to be a balance between "free fall capitalism" (your financial system went up in smoke & caused endless grief for your citizens and other countries) and "government regulations" - government doesn't control much up here - there are 4-5 elected political parties at the federal level which means the governing party has to compromise! No party gets to go "whole hog" - citizens would not stand for "control." We vote 'em out. Good old democracy!

Canada has a public health care system (private if you want it) paid for by our taxes. Absolutely no interference in what health care is provided to me by my doctor/hospital. I have some questions for you:
1. Have you ever had to wait for weeks for an authorization from an insurance company? (I have never had to wait)
2. Have you ever been denied an authorization? (See above)
3. Have you had to wait for a specialist? (Yup)
4. Do you know anyone who has lost their health care? (NO WAY!!!!)

Government is there to support citizens - laws, infrastructure, social programs. The gulag stuff from ibuylow09 is NOT my experience in Canada - it's my grandfather's experience in Russia. I don't trust private health care like I don't trust the banks...look what's happened in the States? Canada didn't have to rescue our banks because we have regulations that protect citizens. Not over-regulated but sensible regulations. Hope that helped.

From that point on, the presidency—all his decisions, all the credit and blame for them was his. The American people held him responsible for everything after it. "Protect and defend" your self-interests. I live in a military town. I was raised by a career serviceman and I am not in la-la land about the military being a culture of self-sacrifice. It's a career - period. My dad joined so he could have three square meals a day and learn to be a mechanic. He retired as an officer and is enjoying his full retirement benefits. The great benefits you receive are paid for by American tax dollars. If you weren't offered great benefits you wouldn't have joined.

I think there are two driving forces. First, he is black. Second, the right-wing attacks on the president started under Clinton. The often had no basis in reality or were exagerated.
If you tell a lie enough times it becomes the truth. Think about Obama and if he is a citizen. There are a large % of Republicans that are not sure or believe he is not a citizen.
These two items create a nasty mix.

You can't buy car insurance to fix your car AFTER you wreck it. If it's a "pre-existing condition", then you can't insure against it, by definition.

Think how much money we'll save if we just wait until after the accident to get full coverage! Have a wreck, hop on the iPhone and viola, covered. Soon as the problem is paid for you can drop the coverage.

Probably ought to check my profile and videos. I'm 49, Im married (20 years in December), write software for a living and I've had a couple of cars "totaled" in my misspent youth. I was given fair market value in both cases because I carried full coverage.

They are so in bed with corporate America that legislate in favor of these companies, despite what and who the president tries to demonize. If they want TRUE healthcare reform they would open up the regional monopolies that companies have in each state. Allowing them to ruely compete in the market, where consumers have the most power.
