i love the beatles.. rhis song is awsome. revolver=my fav beatles album!.

  • why is the music so quiet?

  • @dfcvda

  • Respond to this video... local band back in 68 used to do this song

  • What a great solo by McCartney. It sounds like Jimmy page before Jimmy page had his signature sound.

  • 27 people got taxed by the taxman

  • Taxman!

    salahpapa

  • PACMAN!!!

  • If you listen carefully you hear them saying paul in the backround.

  • If you listen carefully you hear them saying psul in the backround.

  • lol "wildcardproductions" sounds cool.

  • The Beatles were the strongest voice of a generation of many strong, talented voices. Nature set them apart for a reason. It is so we do not just think they were just another great band, so we look closer and listen a little better. When we do, we will that they were prophets. Go to TruthContest (dot) com, open The Present, and read the section about The Beatles.

  • Love this song so much!!!

  • Any know who made this? ;) At least add "Harrison" to the tags, since this is George's tune.

  • Best on bee

  • NO thats a Beatles production you mug

  • George's song, but Paul did the guitar solo which was actually quite good.

  • george harrison, good guy

  • Guy must be rich...

  • 1 for you 19 for me :)

  • This song is dedicated to both Barak Obama and Jerry Brown on November 3rd 2010.

  • i like stevie ray vaughns version better.

  • look at how much of music today is inspired by the beatles. im in a death metal band, and most of what is write is inspired by the beatles. it just goes to show the shockwave they have had on music

  • @lacrosseguy123419 i like to say they are the big bang of rock.

  • @twinflame93 of course

  • Everybody loves the beatles

  • geoge wrote this

  • lo mas

  • Whats the name of the song in the beginning, anybody know?

  • @xJDub95x i was trying to figure that out.. idk.. did u ever figure it out?

  • @xJDub95x ok i got it lol.. its called the highway blues...

  • john lennon rocked the shit out of that cowbell!

  • Let me tell you how it will be

There's one for you, nineteen for me

'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman

Should five per cent appear too small

Be thankful I don't take it all

'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah I'm the taxman

If you drive a car, I'll tax the street,

If you try to sit, I'll tax your seat.

If you get too cold I'll tax the heat,

If you take a walk, I'll tax your feet

  • Thanks for making this. This song is continually relevant.

  • The thing about George's songs is, even though there were so few during that time, all of them were really great songs. They all had enormous impacts, like While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Something, and Taxman, as well as his less-credited songs, like I Want To Tell You, Long, Long, Long, Think For Yourself, etc. The others had some songs that were so-so, although they were still good, but all of George's were absolutely fantastic.

  • DIVINE ARE THE WORDS...

  • How prophetic, it's what Obama is and will continue to put us through! Should be his theme song at the 2012 convention!

  • Paul played lead and bass, and kicked ass!!

  • @judyblueeyes Actually, I believe it was George playing bass.

  • @PiggyPinedog I do believe Paul played lead and bass, George played rhythm.

  • @judyblueeyes Some of his best bass and lead. Proves he was the best and most creative bass player ever. Some great lead guitar too.

  • @jim25shwp Absolutely!! He was and still is The Man!! I saw him in concert July 2009 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. What a show, almost 3 hours, no intermission, no pitch rider, has not lost his voice. It took 46 years to finally see him, was so worth it!!

  • @judyblueeyes Saw him in Glasgow, what a man, what a night. No one has such a perfect back catalogue.

  • JOHN LENNON!!!

  • "Should five percent appear too small". I always took that as tongue-in-cheek, but 95% tax rate was a reality in Great Britain at the time for upper income -(musicians) making money (no wonder the US 'British Invasion'). Wonder how long it'll be till it's like that over here...?

  • George wrote the song, and I always thought that that was classic George Harrison on the lead breaks (middle and outro), then read that George was honored that Paul would play those lead parts. Anybody heard any different..?

  • @SaddleCat1 yes that's true....too bad the leads are deleted here....yes god forbid paul should be heard....george was fine with that....can't understand why subsequent fans can't be.....gees such a wreck of a fabulous song.

  • @Saddle Cat1 That's old where you've been. Yeah that's Paul playing lead. George couldn't come up with something appropriate so Paul had a go at it and played a blistering angry wasp sting of a lead!

  • no fuck you mother fucker

  • highway blues, really?

  • wow your one upload has more views the all of my 270 uploads put together!...What gives? Oh I forgot it was a BEATLES TRIBUTE.......All sins forgiven?

  • @xeyre99 fuck you

  • @xeyre99 1. take a deep breath

    2. cut off your left big toe.

    3. Eat it

    4. blog about it on some usless site.

    5. look at ur background

  • To clear things up the real reson why the sing about mr. Wilson and heath is because they were both prime ministers and as the beatles became richer there were heavier and heavier taxes. Who did they blame...well the government of course!

  • i hate it how they spam their credits @ 1:50. we didnt come to see their dumb PowerPoint credits but to hear the beatles ...

  • i hate people who say greenday is better than the beatles cuz were would greenday be without the beatles the beatles invented songs so greenday just adds on to the beatles

  • the beatles are my drug

  • Okay thank you.

  • April 15th is coming!!!! Love this song! ♥♥♥

  • Why do they say Mr.Wilson and Mr.Heath

  • @dracoswoman They were the two men in Parliament at the time that were in charge of taxes.

  • @dracoswoman

Actually they were both the Prime Ministers.

  • I am so estatic to dedicate this song to Peter S. Simmons, Hampton, NH and Chesuncook Village!!!! Hey Fat Boy, do u own Olive Street?? Big Fat Bully!!! LOL!

  • great job!

  • good making of this video

  • Batmaan!!!!! ...

  • Ah Ah Mr Wilson, Ah Ah Mr Heath! :D

  • Hey, the man's entitled to his opinion, he said the song is pretty good. George used to make up extra verses at live shows, like "if you wipe your feet i'll tax the mat, if you gain some weight i'll tax your fat..." he could be funny. As for ugly Ringo, he got to nail Barbara Bach on a very regular basis. Nobody thought Elvis was hot shit when he was driving a truck for 21 bucks a month. Drum on, Ringo baby!

  • dude how can you despise the beatles there the best band ever

  • @suicidalchesseburger

i didnt really like them a whole lot since recently. they have great band chemistry and good, catchy songs. but i hold the who, the doors, zeppelin, and the hendrix experience in higher standing because i felt that they were more skilled players.

    that being said BEATLES=GREAT BAND!

  • @Iteachu2beninja they despise you

  • Quote from Wikepedia: "Some post offices have even been known to sardonically play the song on in-house audio systems for the long lines of last-minute tax filers". LOL

  • Right at this point in the Beatles career this is where Harrison really starts to break out. He had 3 songs on "Revolver". But it IS Paul McCartney played that great leade guitar solo here. I heard Harrison wrote it because at that time in England he had to pay 95% income taxes, which after working hard for years didn't sit well with him.

  • Happy Birthday George, may he rest in peace.

  • Egad! I always thought that bitchin' solo was all Harrison-- I didn't know Paul McCartney could kick that much ass on guitar.

  • That's right. Remember Paul started out on guitar. That man is so freaking talented guitar, bass, drums, piano

  • brilliance xxwow x babs

  • I did not say Ringo at all.

  • Georges song about 90%....I think John helped with one line. But its so true what George had said reagarding this song, and taxes in general. The Beatles were making damn good money, but they were giving so much away in taxes. George always wondered why this was so. He felt like the Beatles were being punished for being successful at making music!

  • @scoundrel555....actually according to sources back then, even interviews in the '80s, Pete Best was a VERY good drummer, maybe even better than Ringo. I heard about the George Martin thing, which is probably true. I also heard that Pete didnt want to change his hairstyle to the new "Beatle" look, and John did not like him for that. Also heard that Pete was very popular with the girls, and that naturally upset Paul...a bit jealous perhaps. Rumors were Paul wanted an ugly drummer.

  • George is my favorite beatle. Stu sutcliffe is my favorite unknown beatle. This isn't my favorite George Harrison song though.

  • @sumtimeround.....actually the most unknown Beatle (right at the end of the Quarrymen days) is Ken Brown.

  • whooopy

  • this song takes me back to the days playing guitar hero

  • LOL!!! why Obama?

  • @fouxcrackr hahaha ya

  • Hahah. I understand your humor, thumbs up.

  • Correction to your correction... Stuart Sutcliffe was the most unknown beatle

  • What about Jimmy Nicol?

the temp drummer for the majority of a tour in '64 when Ringo had his tonsils removed. probably not technically "a beatle" though :)

  • Not an official Beatle, but I would say he is an Honorary Beatle. Probably has a little plaque or something to commemorate it.

  • I think Pete Best is the most unknown Beatle, he got kicked out of the band and was replaced by Ringo I believe

  • @soccerjock227.....actually the most unknown Beatle (right at the end of the Quarrymen days) is Ken Brown.

  • What is the song at the beginning?!

  • Correction Pete Best is the least known beatle. And im curious, what songs did ringo play guitar in?

  • Stuart Sutcliffe was the most unkown beatle.

  • I just learned that Harrisson composed this song... Man the guy is a genius... its my favorite song on revover!

  • I love Revolver, but Abbey Road and Sgt. Pepper will always be my favorites.

  • add a little wah guitar and this could easily be a funk song

  • lol at 56 ringo wasnt even in the pic it was pete best

  • all the beatles smoke

  • George is my favorite Beatle, despite his lesser ratio of superior songs, he kicks ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @mrchristkngo George and Paul are my favorite R.I.P George Harrison

  • @mrchristkngo YEAAAHHH!!!!!!!!!! And the best looking Beatle!

  • I agree Revolver is my FAVORITE Beatles album,so fresh and creative!Beatle 4life!

  • Well I can't name a favorite! Theyre all epic, bro!

  • they were all well known

  • WHAT R U TALKIN ABOUT ringo is not the least known none of them all well lennon is a bit more known but harrison and ringo are both even JACKASS

  • I didnt know about george until i started getting into the beatles but now he is my favourite (just sayin)

  • i always think of "BAT MAN!" whenever i hear 1:56 for some reason

  • same haha great song

  • I didn't know George and Paul switched on this one. Every Beatle could play more than one instrument, which is really cool.

Lennon: Vocals, guitar, piano, bass, harmonica

McCartney: Vocals, bass, guitar, piano, drums, Keyboards, ukulele, mandolin.

Harrison: Guitar, vocals, bass, keyboards, ukulele, mandolin, sitar, tambura, sarod, swarmandal

Starr: Drums, percussion, Guitar, Piano, Keyboards, vocals

  • is that true cos the bass line is amazing on this song =)

  • mccartney could also play the sitar to an extent

  • Paul can and does play most things really well. On this song, by George Harrison, he plays the guitar solo. George spent two hours trying, but couldn't do it...the others got bored and told Paul to do it.

  • the jam ripped of the bass off this song 4 there own song start

  • Excelente tema, los invito a aquellos que no han escuchado aún a oir la versión de Steve ray vaughn.

    saludos gente

  • Great guitar solo by Macca! He should have played more guitar in The Beatles....

  • George is the best

  • george is awesome. but hes also the least known Beatle

  • well that's gay

    he's the best..

  • RandomMoneyProd: You are on crack. Goerge is not the least known Beatles, that title goes to Ringo.

  • the beginning is funny!!! hehehe!!! i like this song :P

lol it has always made me laugh...

  • The Jam's Start! sounds almost identical to this; never realised before how much!

  • go paul!

  • YAY GEORGE!

  • opinion by kurt cobain

  • what about kurt cobain

  • What about him? Totally different era of music, not to mention, totally different...style, genre, ect...

  • don't diss ringo, listen to him kill this track!

  • when im getting drunk i listen to the best and the beatles are the best

  • Why does it sound a bit like Beck?

  • probably the rhythm and bass line being so prominent

  • pencilmaker1... the question really is, Why does Beck sound like the Beatles in this song?... and a few others.

  • it may have something to do with the fact that beck sampled it - dur, lol

  • good point. i never really thought about that. obviously there's a very strong influence there.

  • The more i listen to The Beatles, the more i fall in love with George's work and start preferring his work to the others!

  • yeh man!, but you gotta remember, since he was only allowed 2 tracks an album, his stuff's gonna be pretty good. But i still prefer him to paul :)

  • not bad, Harrison wrote this right?

  • yea

  • yep

  • a saw a porno once n that was the song at the start ( the jazz bit )

  • Haha woah

  • dude whats the name of the first song? the jazz song?

  • Isn't that one the two songs that come with every PC?

  • do u have windows movie maker? cuz its like one of the sample songs i think

  • Highway Blues

  • i forgot the name but its a song from kind of blue by miles davis

  • it always comes with a pc

  • It's In Sim City 3000 Unlimited

  • Gordon Cambell?

  • HAH thats what I said!

  • georges amazingly awsome guitar skills got him into the band , and soon their band revolutonised the whole world ,

great song brill vocals , music , you name it , it's all good!

  • nice guitar solo from paul

  • Obama's new theme song

  • LOL

  • lets not talk politics when the beatles are playing

  • I like this song because of the thick, catchy line coming from Paul's bass and the combined vocals make for a catchy song. Also the solo really shows George's incredible guitar skill, as if we didn't already know :)

  • Comment removed

  • didn't paul play the solo?

  • yep,and the one in Good Morning Good Morning

  • Yeah he did. George told paul, I'd like you to take the lead guitar right here, and so Paul did, which I'd say he did pretty good at, and George personally liked the solo, so it remained. George could have more than handled it, he just wanted Paul to do the solo.

  • You must have been mistaken, George is playing bass guitar and Paul the lead guitar.

  • Aye aye aye, seeing as nearly a billion people posted me for a minor mixup one day, Paul is playing the guitar.
