Gentrification of Columbia Heightes Neighborhood in D.C.

Lol, Columbia Heights. Don't people know they shouldn't live anywhere that has the word "Hieghts" in it.

You don't see MS-13 tags any more, but I have heard stories of people getting their stuff snatched coming out of Target or Best Buy. You've still got Harvard St just a few blocks away. I wish there was a way to lower crime and make it more family friendly without displacing the longtime residents.

@eirefrance I work at a place in front of the columbia heights metro, I watched some crackhead snatch some runners wallet about 2 weeks ago. guy caught up to him and beat his ass

positve, pretty wide-ranging perspective on the changes in this neighborhood. its complex. I see some similarities between what's going on in Columbia Heights and the Mission District in San Francisco.
