  • @ joostlangeveld what are the fold of the flower when you start off, i can't see them clearly

  • my suggestion to all amateurs wanting to make this is to search for origami lily and try that first. this hyacinth flower is just the same, except with a hexagonal base.

  • Beautiful, thanks for the video!

  • Good work

  • hi do u have another video of how to do this with one solid paper its so hard for me to see, and also are u using a square paper thx

  • do u get these origamy papers in stores?

  • @sijita I have selfmade printable patterns on my site, also for this flower. There's a link to my site in the text below this video

  • As I see, the flowers are the same as lilys, but made from hexagon, not from square. Am I right?:)

  • hi,

I got very impressed while I watched your videos...

But I've got a problem....I can't find out the size of the paper what the flowers made from...Would you solve my problem?

    Thanks in advance

  • @cocoabeaneye Hi, you can find the link to Joost's site in the bottom bar. Once you've opened it, click on print basic shapes.

  • beautiful!!!!!

  • it is harder when you don't explain what you are doing

  • wow my hands are way to big to be folding thing like that lol but kewl vid

  • Question: What size is your paper for the flower? I'm starting with 15 cm squares and going to the hexagon, but I wonder if maybe my flowers are a little bigger and wont look as pretty once put together.. suggestions of size to work with?

  • @mmvermelha

I don't know, which size was used in this video, but I tried with 10x10 cm square, and it works good - the flowers are the same size as the real ones:)

  • @orangutanification Thank you! I did them on different sizes.. they also look good with smaller squares, but it's considerably harder to fold them.

  • It's quite hard to see what you're doing sometimes, especially when you start making smaller folds.. I really wish you'd talk while folding, it would help a ton when it's hard to see motions due the focus that seems to be a little off and your fingers that get a little on the way while you're folding super fast.

I'm still watching and rewatching 4:00-4:06 trying to understand what I should do next, but I'm looking forward to seeing the end result, yours look AMAZING! Really well done!

  • you should explain what you are doing, it makes it way easier !

  • i am going to do origami hyacint, thanks for you instructions, thanks, thanks, thanks and if i forgot thanks :)

  • A little advanced for me, but with some practice!

  • WOOO ¿DONDE CONSEGISTE ESAS HOJAS QUE ESTAN PADRISIMAS??

  • WTF is origami sand? >.<

  • @YourLocalOtaku it's little pieces of black or speckled origami paper that crumpled into little balls. :P "origami" sand. heh

  • I didnt even try it, looks waaaaaay too hard, awesome you can do this.

  • fuk origami its to hard

  • wow, the flowers take you no time at all!, i was going to try something like this but with lilys inted of the flower you make. your way looks much faster and produces a verry simalar looking flower. idi you buy the paper you using at a store, online, or did you make all the hexagon paper your self?

  • @10zuelka2 I make my folding papers myself, on my website are printable paper patterns, also for this hyacinth

  • terrific! thanks for the instruction.

  • Just beautiful......<3

  • The sand is really hard, i can't see how you done that...

  • Your fingers is so fat, that i can't see anything!

  • Dang dude. That has to take alot of time and money for those papers.

  • @killer3094 Considering the artsy children of upper middle class parents would spend between $50-80 on something like this, the price of materials and effort are pretty good for business.

  • what are the dimensions on all of the parts?

  • esta muy padre , que original buen video

  • i made it its done done done

its white and its so cute thanks alot

  • nice vid

btw could you please send or wrotet he link of the patterns for me to print

    plssssss

  • I made it. it is looking nice. i'll show u. Thank you so much.

  • What's lyly?

  • Lily is a kind of flower

  • how much time did it take you to complete this with arrangement?

  • I'm trying to do this as a project. Can you tell me an easy way to make a hexagon with origami standard paper 15x15cm

  • Maybe if you type: "how to draw a hexagon" or something like that in Google you'll find the answer.

  • i used to mess around like dat but i never thought it would turn out to be like that now that i watch this video awesome....

  • your every tutorial looks great, I'll surely gonna try. and then i'll tell you about it. i'm also new to origami but now, after trying some easy orgami. it doesnt looks so hard, and thanks to you who made it simple and adding videos here. thanks for teaching.

  • @7ifrah Same here, I am also new to it but I think I can make a beautiful peice using this tutorial for my grandmother's birthday.

  • lovely

  • That was beautiful, but it's not true origami because you used glue!

  • you need the glue to stick the flower to the stem.. but the flower itself is an origami..no glue used there. xD

  • @ccandnatsuki watch ur words

  • that is great. lovely job.

  • That does not look like the kind of plant you want to fall on... Ouch...

  • making hexagon is really easy! sorry for my english in advance... so, open your compasses, and make a circle, the dont close it leave it in the same distance, and put your compasses somwhere int the cirle. Now cross the cirle with another line, and put it when it crossed. U have to do it 6 times, then u go around. If you were precise, you cross with the last line the first. There r the 6 crosses, the hexagon is done.

  • I'm new to all this, but I find it amazing. How did you learn to do all this? I can almost smell the fragrance of these lovely flowers.

  • I have a long history of crafting behind me, maybe I can say: I can make everything I see with my eyes. I have done more crafting things, like making things of wood

  • can you send me the link of how you did the hexagon, there has to be a more accurate way then what I did!

  • Maybe if you type 'draw hexagon' or 'how to draw a hexagon' in Google you'll find a good explanation. I don't have an explanation on my site for making a hexagon.

  • i like so much but its very hard to make onli a flower...

  • I love hyacinths, I try to grow them but they never flower properly. I have to try this model for sure

  • haha i actually made the bunny :D

  • it's almost impossible to see how you are doing those little delicate folds with your big hands.

    no offense!

  • Good job !

  • Just beautiful and it will never wilt!

I love watching all of your videos.

  • I've made like 7-8 of these, and none looks as good as your's :<!

  • When I started origami I had to fold some models at least 20 times before I got it right

  • its a bit difficult to tell what ur doing...

  • cant believe i just sat through all that

i really dont have anything better to do

  • Comment removed

  • Omg Joost ur an angel of origami!

  • Could you tell us the dimension of the paper you are using for the flower?

  • i could never do that!! it wou;d take me hours to figure one out! you are pretty good. keep going.

  • if thta's how long a single flower takes, think how long twenty wud take!

  • świetny wygląda jak prawdziwy ;))

  • wow this is awesum! it is going to be a while till i get the hang of this one. the one little flower looks hard not to mention the rest of it!

  • Love it! I'ts sooo easy!!!!

  • holy shit!!! that is a lot of folds i wud rather pay u do make one for me than make an attempt at that :]

  • I need to go to a craft store to get some supplies before I make this. I really enjoy watching all these videos on flower origami. It's been so long since I last did origami. These are wonderful!

  • dude thats dope

  • impressive but u cud hav slowed it down so we could make it ourselves

  • nonsense, i can follow a long perfectly :P

but by slowing it down he's adding to the minutes =[

and youtube is all mean about exceeding 10 minutes :(

my origami rose video is in 3 parts =[

  • you can always pause and repeat o.O

  • I love your work! very impressive!

  • Thanks, they are all my own design.

  • how u made the hexagon ?

  • You can type 'draw hexagon' or 'how to draw a hexagon' in Google to find the answer. It's to difficult to explain in this text-box.

  • thx =^.^=

  • again, I'd say this is a good therapy (i'm 52) how can I begin in this art? is there a book recomended? and what kind of paper is better for "a student 1sr grade" in this art? (sorry, don't speak well english)

  • The best thing is to start folding the more easier models (I did that too, the first model I folded from a book was a simple box). I think this hyacinth is to difficult for beginners. It doesn't really matter what kind of paper you use to fold, as long as it's not to thick. You can use cheap paper to practise a model and when you've learned a model you can fold it with paper that looks better.

  • Grandioso!!! ademas me parece buena terapia antiestres. ¿como puedo iniciarme en este arte? que libro me recomiendas y que tipo de papel en mejor para principiantes?

  • Impressive!

  • Wow, now THAT is impressive!

  • Cool!

  • Thanks!

  • WOW! now that's what i call a "MASTER PIECE", and "CREATIVE"

  • I like this one too, I have one in my kitchen

  • slow down vin diesel, thats 2 fast 2 furious!!

  • me too, and this is my fauvorit with the arum lily and the foxflower n.n

  • This is one of my favourites too :)

  • I love your creations. I think I've added 5 of them as my favorites. Thanks for the vids. ^_^

  • Great! Have fun!

  • oooooh

  • cool! :-)

  • amazing :) loved your video showing step by step how to make a hyacinth :) keep up good work:)

  • Ooohhh... So the folding technique for the flower is the same as the lily except this one has six sides.... kewl!! I'll go make one now!

  • nose bleed! hahahaha...

    but I love!

i'll make one (set) when I have the time.

    seriously.

  • how do you get the startring shape of the paper?

  • Maybe you can type 'draw hexagon' in Google to find the answer. It's a little difficult to explain here.

  • thnx ;) i like all your origami flowers

  • how do you create your website?

  • I use a graphic programm called Corel Draw to edit/adjust all the pictures I made and I use a simple programm called NVU to make all the webpages.

  • I just finished my first origami hyacinth inspired by you! i love it! thanks a lot! I

  • Great :-)

  • beautiful! i love origami and i love flowers so...i fell in love with the kawasaki rose, that's what got me started. and now this! lovely!

  • Nice!...but I still dont get it..could u go throug over again, slow down.. PLEASE!

  • It's very similar to how you make a traditional lily/iris from a square paper, except you make it again out of a hexagon and you squish the middle of it to make the petals splay outwards.

Theres a couple variations but not major in this video.

  • god. the flower is just LONG! and you want me to make 20???? fuck it! *makes paper airplane*

  • beautifully done!

  • wow!!! I´ve watched all your videos and all of them are great; by the way I made the hyacint, the tulip and the sunflower, thanks for your completely xpalnation.

    greetings from puebla mexico:-)

  • wooooow, todos tus modelos son fantásticos, y que hermosa persona eres al compartirnos a todos la forma en que se hacen, muchas gracias, todos son fantásticos!!!!

  • I Love your origami so much, I'm definitely going to try this. Thank you very much for making all of these wonderful flowers. Keep it up!!!!

    私はあなたのorigamiを、私完全にこれを試みる行っています非常に愛します。 これらのすばらしい花のすべてをために作る本当にありがとう。 それを!!保って下さい!!

  • You really should try this one because it's one of my better models (that's just my opinion)

  • Hey, do you think you could give me the dimensions that you used for all the different parts?

  • Paper for flowers: A hexagon paper with sides of 2,5 inch.... paper leaf: a square paper of 7x7 inch.... paper stem: a rectangular paper of 1x10 inch

  • sweet! Thanks. :)

  • I really wanna make this i'm pretty good at origami (my opinion) so i could make this but where do you get the metal sticks? Also can we do this project with iris? (lilys whatever.) =D

  • I buy these metal sticks in a flower-shop. They are normally used to hold thin stems of real flowers together. But you can use any bendable metal stick or wire you like. In shops with contruction materials for houses might also be something like these sticks. You can do this project with any flowers you like, maybe if you do this with lilys, people don't even see the difference :)

  • How do you glue them on the stem?

  • I use very strong glue, I can't advise this to everybody, because I must be carefull not to glue my fingers to the flowers.

  • Can't a I just make a whole bunch of Iris origami flowers with purple paper instead!?!?!?

  • It's so nice!

  • :-)

  • Wow! That was great!

  • Thank you!

  • verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry nice.

  • Thankssssssss verrrrrrrrrrrrry much.

  • Thank you!

  • Wow! Thanks a lot. After about 5 attempts I finally got it....the most dofficult part for me is the opening of the petals.... Awesome video...5 stars!

  • Pretty!! There is some in my neighbors yard.

I compared them.. They both look the same!! hahaha.... thanks for posting.

And sorry i haven't come back to comment on your wonderful videos..

  • Great your back, meanwhile I made a video with a blackbird. I don't know if you have these kind of birds in the US, but in my country there are very much blackbirds.

  • I will Go check. :D

  • What is your website?Pretty!!!!LOVE IT!

  • I can't place a link to my site here. On the main-page of my You-Tube channel is a link to my website.

  • can I do a "Hyacinth" with iris flowers?

where did you get the hexagonal paper?

  • You could try it with iris flowers, it won't be a hyacinth then, but it could look nice.

On my website are printable coloured patterns, also for this hyacinth.

It's also possible to print basic shapes (hexagon/triangle/square) from my website on any type of paper you like. If you cut them out you get hexagonal en triangular shaped paper.

  • That's so beautiful...

  • That's so beautiful...

  • Very very very beautiful

  • it took me about 2days to finish this

  • That's a long time, but this is a pretty difficult model to make. When I made my first hyacinth from a book it took me at least 2 days.

  • the flowers are hard to make and u have to mkae 20 of em lol i used 15 on my Hyacinth

  • For my first hyacinth which I made from a book every single flower took me about 15 minutes. 20x15=5 hours.

  • oh ja ik deed 10 minuten over elke maar ik raakte snel verveeld

  • Some handy hands you have there!!
