C;mon- you ain't a true Darwinite until you have been through the days of channel 8 and 6 only. TV used to shut off at midnight with that song that got drummed into our heads. LOVE YA DARWIN- YOU MEAN THE WORLD TO ME THE SITES AND THE PLACES. THERES NO PLACE ID RATHER BE!! moved away back in 1995 but still see me mates in nightcliff/humpty doo n shit.
I'm from Darwin and moved away in '07. I now live in Perth.
Today I realise how much nicer the people from Darwin actually are. There are more different cultures up there, and therefor has less racism. I'm pretty discussed as to how racist north-Perth can be. I desperately want to go back to Darwin because mostly everyone seems to don't care so much about your appearance, race or family background as much as the people I know here ><
It's been a long while since i visited Darwin but what I remember of it was a small city, one really nice hotel and the jumping off point to the National Parks. If you want to learn about aboriginal culture, amazing wildlife and landscape it's wonderful. It's hot but if you don't fight it and just except it your fine. Your blood thins out in a few days anyway and your used to it.
@gunner46996 too right mate, I'm from Darwin, and I'm not white. I was born here, but my oldies are from, believe it or not, Mexico bloody oath!!!! na I'm not talkin bout NSW, real mexicans lol
I enjoyed Darwin. Despite picking a day of rain and overcast skies. Have clipped my own take of the city. Best way to see Darwin on a shoestring and short time is Tour Tub.
A Phoenix risen from the ashes of Australia's second worst disaster (after Black Saturday -Victoria fires) the most modern and cleanest of Australia's cities, no traffic jams, no pollution. And really good music and night-life, as well as the beautiful tropical sunsets and amazing electrical storms. You never get cold - it's close to heaven on earth.
I loved living in Darwin (2000-2002), great place and great experience - definately a different city compared to others around Australia.. Worth a visit.
listen mate, i lived there when i was two and left when i was nine, now i'm twelve and trust me you get used to the heat, if a tweleve year old girl could live there and get used to the climate than so could you.
Trust me dry season would be way better, at any given Thursday in May or June at the parking of Mindil beach, you can see lots of plates from all over Australia, I even saw a few from Tasmania..
How is living in Darwin? I`m in Perth now, I was thinking about moving to Darwin for at least 6 months, is it so boring? At least the weather is good? Can I easily get a job there?
I have lived in Darwin most of my life and have also lived in other parts of australia. Darwin is a fantastic place, if ur use to the hussle of major cities then you will notice the huge diffrence. The weather is fab, the people are soo friendly and if you really want a job there is always one to be found. Darwin is a unique place, my family came to live here for 12 months and loved it so much like many others stayed for life...totally reccomend it give it a try...its what u make of it
Just got back from visiting for 5 weeks there! I miss it! It's 16 degrees c here in Oklahoma!
