not a lot of people like the newer gen corollas, I dont really understand it, I drive a tacoma, but my dad has a 2009 corolla and it seems to be a really good car. Not a speed demon, but its good in the snow, gets good milage, and is built really well.
@bpurdy305 hmm, my dad got 2010 corolla same as 09. its really slow man, he also got another 06 corolla which seems to be faster and more responsive. they made a lot changes to the car, and most of it is disappointing. i don't like the new gen.. it seems they get worse with time.. nevertheless it gets good mpg and seems reliable so far

@kimxrose basically D= 4th gear, once you throw it in 3RD gear you will have a lesser gear ratio, but L-2-3 is used consecutively when you're going up hill and want to make the engine rpm go higher than what you would normally have on 4th gear.
as well as seeing that it can take on stock to pre-moded 94-99 civic's depending on what they have and what you got in the engine. The other week i pulled my friends stock civic.

I saw a 2010 Toyota Corolla XRS with an autostick and a 2.4L. Thats what I have been lookin for, not that I could buy it since I'm only 16, but like the first car i by for myself.

if you are my age you have to have insurance. why isnt anyone paying for it? I mean your parents arent paying for it? and not to mention if you get pulled over, its gonna be bad. so are you gonna switch to a prelude permanently or what?
yeah my parents just pay for the car itself. and yeah they said they will try to buy me a decent used car so im gonna go for a pre modded manual 99-01 lude.
@Hendrixidol sounds great :D My sister actually had a 2002 Corolla LE and we loved it! but seven different people hit her and ran off,1 was an accident. my friend just bought the celica and sure enough, it had the same engine. I love the fact that its not drive by wire. She also had a problem with the power door locks b/c they constantly unlocked the car as you were driving and they disabled the alarm during the day/night. oh and then right after we put new pirelli's on she totalled it on ice

I'm a junior but naww here's the thing it doesn't go up that much, I mean like some buddies of mine drive V6 Chryslers Impys and Stangs all day long...thing is they're old. If you get an older XRS...like an '05 then your good. They are ALOT faster anyways. I mean those things hit 145 with a limiter on...take it off and you'lll probably have EVO performance.
