  • Do you have to leave a little hole open at the top of dumpling or no?

  • Thanks for posting this - I've always wanted to try making these at home. Your video is very clear and your comments made me smile. Love the pretty pink gladiolas on your stove!

  • OK thank you :)

    saludos desde Chile!!

  • @patagua Thank you for your update! Happy cooking!

  • Maangchi, I have a question. If I make all 16 of the buns, will I be able to refridge/reheat throughout the week when I eat them? Or will they go bad? If they will go bad, can I make the whole batch and then before cooking freeze them? Will they still rise normally! Thank you so much Maangchi, I <3 you. :D

  • @LeaPapin It will be ok. You can keep them either in the fridge or in the freezer too. Read the story about this dish on my website. Happy cooking!

  • i do not have to have a steamer to steam the buns? or is it another way?

  • @selmatheking1 You need to steam it somehow. It's not cooked other ways. Google "DIY steamer" and you will find ways to make a steamer from the kitchen tools and utensils you already have at home.

  • i think i steamed it wrong... :/

but the fillings inside was delicious :D

  • Im sooooooo excited to make them! Thank you for sharing! (:

  • I have made buns before, just like yours the all purpose flour cannot give the real white colour of bun, unlike the Chinese restaurant, their steam buns are very white! Do you know what flour do they use in the restaurant?

  • @Norman31chea they use bleached wheat flour thats why their buns are super white

  • lol is that a rice paddle?

  • My mom and brother don't like pork what can I use instead?

  • @misanthropikbunny Use beef then.

  • in the recipe it says 2 ts dry yeast, but what is ts, is it tablespoon or teaspoon? please help me. Sorry for my bad english:P

  • @selmatheking teaspoon: ts, tablespoon: tbs 1 tbs=3 ts (15 ml).

  • Could I make and steam 16 then freeze them for later? Would I be able to reheat them in the microwave?

  • @XKeelyX yes, you can freeze them. First thaw them out in the fridge or at room temperature and then reheat them. You could use a steamer or microwave oven.

  • Hi Maangchi! I love your videos and I can't wait to try this one. I've read somewhere that by adding a few drops of vinegar or lime juice to the water makes the buns whiter. Have you (or anyone else) tried that and know if it is true or not? Thanks!!

  • What if we don't have a steamer is there any other way to cook it?

  • I've made these countless times now, always using your recipe, and they always turn out SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good! I also add a little fresh ginger to the pork with the garlic when i grind it because I love ginger, thank you for sharing
