  • Not as good as buckethead, but hes sort of good I guess. I'm 12 and can honestly play better than him.

  • True artist! Emotions, and unique style. One of the best musician.

  • such an emotional solo!

  • This is when I liked Robin, the caveman look really suited him,not like he was in 2001/02....I was sad when he left GNR but when I saw DJ Ashba do the ballad of death that blew me away and I've been a fan of DJ ever since.

  • Not many people can pull off looking bad ass with a beard, but he does!!

  • SO THAT WAS HIM ALL ALONG?!

    Wow! Hahahahahahaha i'm an asshole...

  • that guy cannot play the guitar

  • @kirkhammettaddict Thank you. I was beginning to thank I missed the memo on what makes an acceptable guitarist. I don't understand how anyone can think his playing is at all listenable. Honestly this guy makes Cobain sound like Holdsworth!

  • @redrocker1055 Wheres my Slash : ( it's so funny people think is good. If Slash played over this song improvising it would be an instant masterpiece.. just like every improvised solo he played on the GNR tours : (

  • i like the old robin fink look. he looks too GNR here ..the old NIN was so darker

  • ROBIN ERES EL PUTO AMO

  • great licks, gret feeling, amazing solo.....Finck is pretty cool and kick's ass !!!

  • Comment removed

  • awesome!! But the grizzly adams looks gotta goo!!!!!!!!!

  • Is it me or does he look different every day?

  • he looks cooler with his kind of goth style,,he is cool anyway

  • FINCK LOOKS LIKE ROB ZOMBIE HERE!!! WTF!! He looks so different!!! :O

I like his hair-do from NIN during 2009!!

  • hahaha he sucks this is just bull shit noise

  • amazing?

  • He doesn't look like he used to look in NIN.

    I hardly recognised him.

Cool solo though, a nice mix of Pink Floyd and Buckethead with a lil' touch o' Robin' Finck !

  • jajaja @renegade552000 ese comentario solo muestra que tu no entiendes nada de musica, cuando logres conectar sus licks, y entiendas como encaja cada nota, notaras que mas ke musico, robin es un artista

  • hey man, have ya lisend to NIN the downward spiral?..

if not check out finck's schtuff there.

  • Finck had nothing to do with that...Trent Reznor writes all the music for NIN, all of it...he then hires touring musicians, basically like free lance work.

  • allright man, if you really think that robin finck has no understanding of music, thats your opinion its ok, but just, put on youtube NINE INCH NAILS-28 GHOSTS IV PORTLAND, and tell me if that isnt understanding the music

  • god forbid a guitarist doesnt sound like every other nine million guitarists out there. God forbid that he can actually hear the tones coming out the guitar and manipulate the sounds to his emotion. Oh and dear god if he doesnt play your favorite scale, he must be bad.

I dont even wanna know what you think of tom morello.

  • in your opinion. you would rather he be like every other guitarist, play a less than imaginative or creative solo like Slash or something. Right? he improvised this solo - i commend him for doing what he did. The Blues, rio 01. he wrote and played that solo. he wrote the music to Better. He did some very amazing things.. compared to Ashba who has done nothing in his career.

  • If Buckethead has no emotion what is that in TWAT, If The World, the final solo of The Blues and Sorry?

  • Thats fucking great

  • Robin Finck is the best guitarist of GN'R.

The new sound of GN'R is so the style of robin.

Nothing more to say and I am just waitin' one thing: the day where robin finck will come back to GN'R.

And he has some good friends in GN'R like Fortus and Ferrer.

Axl said also that's like slash in "95, Robin will be very hard to replace and forget !

  • I agree with you, but not only Robin, I have to say that Buckethead is the Best GNR guitarrist ever, and Buckethead made so fucking good solos in Chinese like Sorry and TWAT... He and Robin together were gods... I loved them both playing all along.

  • you know, i am also a true fan of bucket but he never come back in GN'R.

He is replaced by BBF (bumblefoot), he is great and really pro and I really like him too.

  • takes all kinds of guys to make music work driftwood. finck is not a big shredder but the guy is a great musician and guitarist. if everybody was a shredder there would not be any songs. he is a super cool guy as well( yes i have hung out with him a couple of times). cheers

  • @christcrispy5 I envy you

  • You can all say what you want...

But he's a mid level guitar player at best...

Go watch his other stuff and get a real opinion.

Learn a pentatonic scale, turn it up really loud, and there's Fincky Stincky.

He needs to go back to his bedroom and come out when he learns to really play.

He should have taken lessons from Buckethead when he had the chance.

But I'm sure his head is to fat.

    BUCKETHEAD RULED GNR...

  • @DavidDriftwood dude i'm sorry but i completely disagree with u i think that robin is better than buckethead. buckethead has no emotion. he can fake it pretty good (like in whitewash or padmasana) but when it comes down to it he looks rlly bored on stage. robin finck feels wat he plays and that makes him a better guitarist than bucket srry man

  • hahahah i hate the guy and his playing but how can you honestly imean really honest........sit and watch a guy even if its sucky ass finky stinky play to like 20,000 ppl and say he's mid level? I think the guy has just about made the big time!rofl how many ppl were at your gig last night?

  • He plays guitar better than Slash!

  • I have no voice ! Damn It's so good ! It's so loud and sick ... Wahwahwahwah Robin Finck you are Marvelous ! No one can replace you in GNR, don't you know it ?!

I really like you in NiN but in GNR too Hope to see you again in these 2 bands again !

Come in France again with Nin and/or GNR

  • god he's a chameleon haha

  • This is so fucking loud, and so fucking sick are there any tabs for this masterpeice of shit?! cus I wanna fucking learn it.

  • Honestly, the only cool and good thing about Guns'n'roses from the past 20 or so years is Robin. I may be biased because I am a huge NIN fan, and that is his home. but fuck it.

  • Ohhh.... Sorry mate :p misread that.

  • sucks at writing solo's, you heard This I Love?!

  • Are you kidding me? That's the best solo on the album!

  • I know, the guy below said he sucks at writing solo's, to which I replied has he heard This I Love, dude, its a masterpiece!

  • this comment means:

how does he suck at writing solo's, This I Love is a masterpiece

  • Esse solo dele é tão clichê. Qualquer bom guitarrista faz melhor e com criatividade.

  • Why, for the love of God, is he not playing in a Zeppelin-type band? :( Just get him, one bass, one drummer and a powerful vocalist and let rip.

  • he is amazing

  • no he isnt haha

  • yeah he is

  • why he's walking?

  • Robin Finck form GnR and Robin Finck from NIN almost seem like different people. lol

    Great guitarist.

  • OH MY LANTA!!! Robin Finck, is awesome!... i cant do that on my guitar

  • a really love this amazing solo.

Robin finck is really genious in GNR !!!

Damn what a lost for GNR since he has gone to NiN !!!

  • I´m shure he´s good at playing the guitar but he sucks in writig solos

  • to someone who doesn't have a clue about playing guitar this might sound good

  • Sure, and I guess you know more about music than Reznor and Rose. Bless you. :)

  • All Reznor knows is industrial. Hence not what made GN'R connectable to millions- it was hard bluesy based rock n roll that built their successful foundation. & Well I wouldn't deny Axl's genious if he hadn't of lost the only one lead guittarist fit for Guns N' Roses. Anyone else is/will be overhsadowed or looked at as a "replacement" or "hired hand"

  • If all Reznor knows is industrial why is Cash singing "Hurt"?

Anyway I understand your position regarding Guns'n'Roses, but that doesn't mean Finck is a bad guitarris. You may like his style or not, but he can't be bad with that career (Cirque du soleil, NIN and G'n'R... Can you improve that? I can't, and I've been playing guitar for 20 years)

On the other hand Slash stuff WAS amazing (probably my favorite lead guitarist ever), but... what's he doing now apart from Guitar Hero and stuff?

  • I'm just saying the formula&chemistry that made GN'R so spectacular is gone.

He is good, it's just to me nothing he's done has proved himself to be anything iconical or ledgendary.

Slash just rocked and headlined Quart festival. More importantly has been working on his a sick star studded solo record this whole year. Has everyone from Ozzy to Iggy Pop to Lemmy on it. Not to mention what kind of monster Velvet Revolver will be when they find a good frontman. Question is what has Axl been doing?

  • Not a fan of old legends striking back, that's it. I always preffered consolidated bands that keep rocking hard (like NIN). Slash's stuff is a matter of taste; I don't think what he's doing right now is great. Finck guitar sound and performance in The Slip are just brilliant. But again: that's my personal judgement.

Dunno what to think about Axl Rose at the moment but spending 15 years to record a "just ok" album is a bit worrying (Chinese Democracy has great guitars though)

  • Have you not listened to NIN in ten years or so? They've changed completely.

  • Reznor knows more about music than most human beings I can think of, Axl Rose being included.

  • I couldn't agree more. :)

  • i like how the guitar sounds like a mix of a dying cat and a broken guitar even though there was no cat and the guitar is tuned

  • I saw nothing impressive about this at all....no wonder i didnt go see these guys when they came to my area

  • your a fucking idiot.

  • IMO Robin Finck is a douche, but this solo is great, and man his Les Paul (the one in this clip) is the LP I want most.

  • Now that was really CRAP !!

  • Slash is my favorite guitar player #1 but I notice that Robin Finck was the only one in gnr that sound like him without trying to imitate him. Plus i respect him because he is creative. Robin is a very cool dude in person. he alway has time for his fans.

  • robin is the best!!!!!!!!!!

  • Even tho Axel says on guitar Robin Finck? you're an idiot and the guitar is Robins custom Les Paul with the Toogle selector moved to the tone switch. You noticed nothing but your own Stupidity

  • It's Robin Finck. He looked like a hippie in this one.

  • it is robin finck, but he does look a bit like bumblefoot here. and as a reply to smokiesparrow's comment, why so rude. bumblefoot is the guitarist for gnr aswell, and finck loks like him here, so get a grip. Im not lookin for an argument, and neither should you be. Stop trying to create opportunities for you to show off your alleged knowlede of what guitar finck uses, because nobody cared, you just make yourself look like an arrogant knob.

  • Robin is a brilliant guitarist, his solo here was nothing short of epic!

Robin was the really interesting musician in the newGNR line up, I'm really gonna miss not seeing him play his solo's.

So he hits a few bum notes here and there, and may not be technically as giften as some other players....so what? The amount of feeling he pours into his solo's more than compensate, just listen to his solo on 'This I Love' and tell me you dont feel something everytime you hear it!

  • robin has some crazy feel to him! i almost started crying to the This I Love solo its a beautiful solo

  • Ye, robin can play with a lot of feeling. just search for Buckethead Robin Finck duet in youtube. However, also listen to robin finck's addition to buckethead's 'Hog Bitch Stomp' at a Guns n roses concert. Finck ruiins it, and its really cringy to watch its that bad.

  • i know what u mean. technically, it is gnr because axl owns the band and can call it whatever he wants, but it is more of an axl rose band. However, if you havent already, listen to some of Buckethead's solo career songs. They're amazing. Dont judge him if you hear a couple of bad songs at first just out of luck, cos if you're not used to him some of his material can seem a bit weird. just give him a chance, cos ur seriously missin out otherwise.

  • awesome solo

  • Slash and Robin Finck are both insane and they both rock the same guitar the good old LP!!!!!

  • I thought this was awesome he isn't trying to be like Slash to Ron (Bumblefoot), so he stands out to me anyways.

forget all the predecessors and just watch the damn video, Robins not one of my "top" or favorite guitarists but that doesnt mean a thing let him play, if you like it watch it to the end if not watch something else.. your here for a reason.

  • Guns N' Roses Forever....Robin Finck,o sucessor de Slash.

  • Slash is a god but I respect Robin Finck he is awesome. looks like he is searching for something new

  • INSANE

  • y does he look so dif now like bigger and dif hair even his play'n style is dif too

  • somone is still bitter that robin can play all of slash's parts =P

  • slash isnt amazing or anything but he drags this douche bag. fortus is better...bumblefoot is way better....buckethead is better than all of them....but not for gnr. BH is by far a better solo artist. bottome line is that noody is going to be able to play the parts that slash wrote better or as good as slash himself.

  • i love this solo!Robin the best!!!!!!

  • Hmm. It's about 1000 times better than that bullshit solo you uploaded to your page. Was that you playing? If so I think maybe Finck could give you some lessons.

  • He's got more feeling than Slash. Just my personal opinion.

  • AMAZING solo.

The haters can put a gun to their head and pull the trigger... or pick up a rig set up a camera and show us you can do better.

Yeah. Axl Rose and Trent Reznor fight over his services on an annual basis. He MUST suck. LOL!

  • I think it's a great solo by a great guitarist. Obviously those who wank themselves while listening to Herman fucking Li or bedroom guitarists like that will not agree...

  • Not too bad. Actually pretty damned good. Very emotive too.

  • Buckethead owns slash and robin

  • There's nothing spectacular about this solo.

  • Except good taste

  • i agree dan...yawny to me...buckethead owns all night

  • Finck is awesome

  • this is amazing! puts a chill up my spine everytime i listen to it. rock on!

  • i prefer finck but pretty much everyone thats been in GnR is talented so take your pick i guess

  • well put. I hate how people think Buckethead sucks 'cuz he replaced Slash, and now everyone thinks that Bumblefoot sucks.

  • Heh, it looks like Axl has trouble announcing Finck, cause they take the spotlight from him for a moment =)

  • Slash>Buckethead>Robin Fink.

Fink,is not bad, but Slash is the master

  • 100% agreed

  • yeah you are right

  • Finck will never ever ever ever be as good as slash, buckethead is awesome too but hes not even better than slash

  • Buckethead wrecks both guitarists, technically.

  • I think this is stunning. No holds barred. I really like his style.

  • It's cool to see Finck playing some typical ROCK guitar as opposed to the NIN stuff. This is the first time I have actually seen him do so.

  • I met him on the street in Oslo once. He took the time to speak with us (a few young GNR fans). Great guy And he delivered a pretty darn good concert that night too.

  • I know some GN'R fans don't dig him so much... but Robin Finck is an amazing artist and talent. A very original guy. I think when the album comes out people are going to realize how much he adds to the band. Axl obviously loves Finck's work- as he's always fighting with Trent Reznor over his him!

  • yeah its true...

  • I think Robin is as talented as Slash

  • Nine Inch Nails ftw.

  • buckethead rules both slash and finck

  • i prefere when he was a dark punk-not a hippy- well... and i hate out of tune bends

call me axl!!! see my videos

  • and i think that finck moving to gn'r to show his skill is just something that makes him a better guitarist. and that he moves to nin and it's ok to play more simplistic stuff and have some fucking fun.

    or something.

  • i'm kind of sick of people comparing slash and finck.

first off. it's all opinions people are fighting over.

second off. fact is, slash ISN'T in gn'r anymore. so mope in your shit.

thirdly. my OPINION is that finck rules. and so does slash.. but i like finck more. and i like nin more than roses.

    sue.

    me.

  • FUCK NIN. Robin Finck gets to show what he really is cause GNR is ten thousand times more famous than NIN. Also he has the ability to play good solos in gnr, thing he cant do in NIN cause different styles.

  • Believe or not ROBIN STILL IN GNR COCK SUCKERS NIN FANS

  • robin NEVER fit well in that band. he kicks ass in nin.

  • robin finck you are a shit!!!!!

    SLASH IS THE BEST!!!!!!!

  • And it's a pleasant surprise to see that your response is well thought and elaborated, it's hard to see that around here these days.

    Cheers!

  • Agreed. Although I think Axl is trying to suck Bucketheads balls at the moment...

  • Maybe... I won't change my opinion, no one can replace Slash on Guns N' Roses, and Finck is not a good guitar player!

    Cheers :D

  • dave mustaine: "buckethead is probably twice as good a guitarist as me and slash put together".

slash is a nice guy and he has come up with some decent stuff but hes hardly the worlds best guitar player. buckethead has better tone, better chops, has done WAY more original work (just check out day of the robot or population override), and is a far, far more emotive player.

  • disagree, Slash is one of the most emotive players in history, thats for sure, maybe the buckethead's work is WAY more original, but Slash is pure emotion. Cheers.

  • yes well youve demonstrated your lack of intelligence so consider that a correction, not a debate.

  • Who the fuck are you to make corrections to other people? That was just my opinion, if you think that Buckethead is better thats great!,but respect other people's opinion... Get a life asshole.

  • i prefer buckethead, but daddywhetz, unnessesary...

  • yeah, in fact Buckethead is better, but I don't think that I'm "unnessesary", and if I'm, maybe you shouldn't reply...

    Saludos.

  • Slash hasn't given anything to music besides a few pentatonic solos. Buckethead blows Slash out of the water any way you think.

  • whatever you say...

  • I think Slash fits better in GnR, besides, it is just my opinion, you think that buckethead is better? Great man!, that is your opinion, and I respect that, but I hope some respect too.

    Cheers :)

  • Nice to see a ridicule-filled comment at my opinion. Of course slash fits better in GnR, I never said that, I think he's a huge part of the band definitely. But Slash couldn't do what Buckethead does.

  • I just tried to be nice, but it seems ridiculous to you, so fuck off asshole

  • Woah, typo man sorry. I meant to say a "non ridicule-filled comment."

    My bad.

  • My bad, I meant to say a "non ridicule-filled comment at my opinion." I respected that you actually didn't say "fuck off asshole." My bad for the typo.

  • Sorry for the bad words, I want to excuse me :)

  • No prob man, no hard feelings.

  • you guys are discussing like emo girls!.

Slash and Buckethead are amazing, each one in his style. Buckethead is more experimental, and slash is more blues/rocker instead.

Is like comparing hendrix and clapton, there is no need to do it.

  • This is better...at least Finck looks better with that hair and the beard. I hated his other look with halfg his head shaved...eww

  • How come that I keep browsing GNR with Robin videos on youtube but have not found a proper, well constructed, clear solo that really comes thru up till now?

  • are you serious "xzsht0" you think this solo sounds clear? This video sounds like someone used a mcully culkin home alone recorder on it...

  • sorry man, my poor english grammar. I meant I have not yet found any good solo from Robin, including this one. I should have probably used "yet" instead of "up til now", 'coz as you said this sucks too :)

  • haha, ic, yes "yet" would have been a better choice, haha...

  • And may I ask what's your concept of a "proper, well constructed, clear solo"?

  • Hi Zeta,

good question! Something that have its own style marks and is outstanding from a bunch of notes thrown together in a way that it sounds like a journey when u listen 2 it from beg. to the end. In this one I got lost all the time and can't recall any dominant part out of it. I know it is very subjective who likes and feels what,so maybe I'm just not into Robin which is my problem.Anyhow I give him credit 4 his NIN career & the new GNR songs but will stick to Page,Slash when playing.Cheers

  • Well, I'm a huge Slash and Page fan myself, but it's hard not to admit that this solo is pretty awesome. It's easy to see that he plays what he's feeling at the moment, kinda like Stevie Ray Vaughan.

That said, when the drums and rythm guitar, you can definetely see a structure in the solo, a bluesy thing that just drives me nuts (in a good way).

I recognize some of his solos in the past may have been a bit on the bad side, but this one just kicks ass.

  • Guns N Roses are for the peopel who abuse women and think there the shit. Fuck em!

  • He's a poser but quite good guitarist. He can supersede Aaron North, but Aaron was funnier.

  • fuck nine inch nails, with gnr he gets to show what he really is and that my friend is a guitar god!!!!! thats right! GOD!!!! the man is a fucking legend (2nd to zakk wylde tho) still robin is word numbingly immense with phenominal passion on stage and thats what makes him special. fuck nin, hes BETTER with gnr!!!!!!!!

  • There Is No Such Thing As Guns 'n' Roses Anymore...

Guns 'N' Roses Died In '96 When The Original Band Fell Apart...

    This Isn't Guns 'N' Roses,

It's Axl Rose Feat. 8 Other Musicians.

And Trent Reznor + Nine Inch Nails Have More Talent Than This Shitty Revamped Version Of One Of The Worlds Ex-Greatest Bands.

He Shows A Hell Of A Lot More Passion Onstage With NIN From What I've Seen Live With NIN And "G'N'R"...

  • u aint know shit motherfucker

  • Yeah, that's the only thing that bothers me...Trent doesn't allow anyone else to do their own thing. But hell, could you handle anything more than what Trent brings! That's enough to keep you feeling great for MONTHS!

NIN are way better than this "Guns n' Roses", but it would be cool if we saw stuff like this with NIN...and a bit heavier ;)

  • Finck get your ass back in NIN NOW MR! Oh.... you have? GOOD.

  • No offence, but I don't think Rob gi
