  • exelente, muy bueno

  • This has to be the best performance of Torija on YouTube. It has the setting and one of the best musicians playing. Inspirational!

    Thank you for sharing

    -Andrew

  • Thank you Andrew.

I am honored. This was so fun to do. I almost smell the streets when I see this.

    Thanks for commenting.

    Per-Olov

  • Hahaha. 1 st of all, I never got tired listening to your wonderful sensitive interpretation.

I love your randomness and I must say the 2 men walking by, is proof on how music moves you unconsciously. THEY ARE WALKING SIDE TO SIDE.. Like dancing!

Keep it up ! *Claps Standing ovation

  • Man. I have to say. Rome has some mad acoutics...

  • oh wow| speechless. wonderful played. love the back ground. not to much back ground noise. is that the dry recording?.i was in viet nam last month and thinking bring my guitar and play and video but never did big time regret.also there are so much more people on the street .maybe the sound not so good. wonderful play

  • Fantastico!!! Love Isis

  • my friend has a spanish classical guitar he can't really play muuch on it he loves his electric guitar but for some reason i really love classical guitar

  • i love this one too!

  • i think my teacher is going to give me this piece next semester, i really hope so after hearing this

  • Raffinatissimo e toccante. Roma ringrazia.

  • your a legend per-olov! so inspirational

  • The place and the song beautifully match together. Great job!

  • Comment removed

  • I wonder how did you record the sound so well?

Beautiful piece. I'm decided to learn it this summer :)

    Greets from Portugal,

    Rui Brandao

  • I love this video. It is a very good atmosphere. I also like playing the guitar in the street or the park.(TS)

  • love it, so smooth

  • wow this is so beautiful, i'm learning this piece right now, and your video help me alot.. thx

  • You introduced me to Torroba and I'm entirely thankful for that. You also play this piece better than any version I have on commercial CD. An outstanding guitarist, you make the silences mean something. So captivating. I just keep coming back!

  • Hi! I am so happy I introduced you to Torroba. He made many beautiful piece for guitar. I am also honored you like my style andplaying. Please keep listening to me and also keep playing! It's the best!

    Per-olov

  • I've watched many of your videos and believe that you are a very good guitarist, so no offence. But please - in this case it's too obvious that audio and video have been recorded separately. The tone is too good, the video consists of several sequences and the whole thing is async.

  • Hi, Thanks for your comment.

Yes, I try not to hide that this is edited to the extent that I played this at home after the visit to Rome because the sound in the streets was to loud to be heard. If you look at my video from Rome where I plat Bach, we actually meda a video on how e amde it.

I am happy yuo like my other videos though! :-)

    Allt he best,

    Per-Olov

  • I think you are quite considerate, Per-Olov. Most other people would have felt offended by my comment . But ok, no I can say I'm sorry to have suspectet you by mistake ;-) .

I've just uploaded some pieces I've recorded, 4 of them are classical guitar pieces. I play them in a very different way than you do, but I'd be delighted if you would watch them and tell me what you think about them.

    Thanks a lot, Johannes

  • Those people walking by have no idea they're in the presence of greatness. So sad, they're missing out on so much.

  • How did you manage to get such a good sound recording? I like your playing also by the way.

  • This is such an amazing piece, and I'm loving how you can hear people in the background! It creates a unbelievably cozy athmosphere.. Keep up the good work, perfect as always :)

  • Just when I thought your previous version was the best I had heard... this sets a new standard!! I am truly moved by it. Thank you once again for sharing.

    Sincerely,

    Andrew

  • Ahhh... you found it1 LOL

Well, you don't have to ask my question then...

    Thanks for listening to me.

    Per-Olov

  • What a beautiful song and video!

I can hear people on the streets, speaking Italian... Spanish songs are so beautiful, and this is no exception, I'm studying this one too :)

    Greetings,

    Rui from Lisabonne

  • Ola Rui!

Thank you! I am happy you like this video. We had a great time making it!

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • Very nice! *****

    Congrats!

  • Thank you!

    Per-Olov

  • ah. this is where this music should be played.

if my ears could talk, they would say "thank you. you have enriched us both."

  • Perfect. I'd never even heard of Torroba before I found you on youtube, and the music has opened up new avenues for me. Thank you so much for sharing, you have such a special touch, I could sit and watch you hour upon hour.

  • Hi Peo, looking forward in purchasing more of your music at your web shop! A suggestion: maybe you can have the option of mailing (as opposed e-mailing) your scores/tabs to your customers??? We ALL have mailing addresses. However, it's faster via email (downloadable pdf format). About Italy...looking forward on visiting this beautiful place again in the future.

  • Thank you John,

It would be much more expensive for the customers to get it sent by mail... And I wouldn't be able to do that as I travel a lot these days. But thanks for the suggestion.

I have sent it to you in an email. Hope it works this time.

    Peo

  • Peo...this is a great one to put in your web shop (w/tabs of course). Like I've said before, this "Torija" would be great too if it were done in a church somewhere in Italy

because of the acoustics - perhaps a church in Tuscany or Umbria as examples. What a wonderful backdrop!

  • Dear John, again I hope you have been able to get my music. ...

Thank you. I LOVE Tuscany. I have been there many times. To play there would be just great! But Rome isn't that bad either... LOL

I cannot post this on my shop since i don't have the copyrights... :-/

    Per-Olov

  • So many jazz elements in this piece. You play it in a way that reminds me of Barney Kessel or Joe Pass doing a slow rendition of some popular tune.

    Great composer, great performance. Favourited.

  • This is truly beutiful, i feel like faling in love right now xD

    Greats from Sweden, Skövde

  • Ha! Tack skal du ha.

I hope you have someone to fall in love with!

    Greetings from Copenhagen,

    Per-Olov

  • One of the most beautilful Torija I have ever appreciated. You are a great guitarist, all your music is with heart.

    Thank You from Itlay, bravo.

  • Ciao! Thank you very much! I am happy you like my version of this beautiful piece. I am happy for that.

    Kind regards,

    Per-Olov

  • you Sir are an artist, thank you!! Mr Moreno Torrobas would have cried.

  • Thank you very much! I am honored. i hope Señor Moreno Torroba is smiling from up there... :-)

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • man put some of this stuff on limewire or something cuz i love this and it would be great to get my little sister to sleep

  • This is beautiful. The sounds of the night and the voices of the people make this video very enjoyable. I feel as if I am in Rome right now! I like hearing the footsteps and conversation beneath your playing.

Your playing is fantastic. Thank you so much for the videos.

  • Thank you! I am glad you liked our video from Rome. We had great fun making it too!

    Please keep listening,

    Per-Olov

  • what guitar you use?

  • I play a Philippe Jean-Mairet...

  • That most than perfect!

I can feel the song and the feelings as if I was here.

    Another perfect interpretation, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you! We had a great time there! I am glad it shows!!

    Kind regards,

    Per-Olov

  • Beautiful. This almost has the ability to allow a structured, conformed spirit a freedom otherwise unknown. Thank you for the magical colours.

  • Thank you. Very nice words...

    Kind regards,

    Per-Olov

  • that was nice dude :)

  • Thanks dude!! :-)

  • What a wonderful setting to play Torija. It would have sounded better I think if you played it in a church where the acoustics

are better...in the Vatican? A church in somewhere in Tuscany or Umbria? You know, I've been to Italy already on a catholic pilgrimage and it was wonderful! Nonetheless, great playing, Peo!

  • Thank you. Yes, It was a great time in Rome. I found a church many years ago in Livorno I would like to play in. Maybe some day... sigh...

    Kindly,

    Per-OLov

  • this reminds me of a video I saw where segovia was playing while background noise was playing. It creates a nice effect.

  • LOL. I think I saw that one too... or was it Bearm... well anyways: thanks!

    Per-Olov

  • I agree. Marie is very good with the camera. And you too with the guitar, Per.

  • LOL Thank you. Quite a team, eh? I will pass that on to lunalunanueva... Thanks a lot!!

  • Wow Peo, not only beautiful music, but we are now getting some stylish camera work as well, like cross fade effects! You make me feel inferior..Frankly, I prefer to see you reading the score off the floor, so I have a least ONE complaint LOL. Here I am hoping to sell you a music stand and you no longer NEED one! Sublime video.

Good luck with your CD my friend, here's hoping for the success you surely deserve.

    Mark.

  • LOL... Thank you my friend. Yes, isn't Marie good? If you feel inferior, talk to her! I have nothing to do with that! Ah! You prefer me reading from the floor!? A first! LOL

    Peo

  • Funny how one can hear completely different songs within other songs. A couple of times I could hear the American Folk song "How dry I am, How dry I am..." (actual title is "The Near Future" by Irving Berlin cira 1919)-- regarding Prohibition of alcohol. I guess New Year's coming.

    --Van

  • LOL! Ha, I didn't know that! I will check it out!

  • Sorry about the gender reassignment, Peo. My intention was to describe 'la musica' as 'molta bella' not the guitarist ... though I'm sure the musician is 'molto bello' as well. I'll just stick to English from now on.

  • HAHA!! Oh, dammit! The misuc!? Sorry my friend. I thought you meant me!! I stand corrected then! Mille grazie, senorita! Uhum... signore :-)
