  • @class313 Was that running on AC overhead or DC 3rd rail

  • @Cazkumali AC - St Pancras - St Albans

  • @class313 Thanks very much for uploading this class 319 traction sounds I luv them

  • always loved class 319 units my favourite by far went on one today between bromley south and swanley on a special fast service and when it hit 90mph through st mary cray it was deafening love a emu scream

  • So beautiful trains! My heart warming to love very much!!!!

  • I love Class 319s and their motors. I also love it when their traction motors start off with that low sound.

  • @cstockdistrictline I know what you mean! They are great units. Cheers for the comment!

  • This sound is attractive.

It is an old drive type of the mother country.

    I like this drive type.

  • I love the 317, 319, 321, 442, 455 traction motors they all sound similar.

  • like the video and the sound

  • this is in my top 30

  • they sound like class 455 but diffient but good job

  • I find 319s tend to be a lot louder than 455s. Also when 319s are on AC wires, they have a different start off sound.

  • I have found that as well. I seem to hear a slightly longer and lower pitched whining when pulling away under AC power compared to DC.

  • I found that you are quite familar with motor types, do you have ideas of what motor type is used in our early 1980 Metro-Cammell built EMU? Please see the video response that I uploaded, Thank You!

  • Are you talking about class 315?

  • yeah, they are the same class of traction motor; GEC (now Alstom) 315 DC motors

  • They sound like GEC motors to be honest but I only really know about British stock. Sorry.

  • A brilliant sound clip there 5*. Love the sound of a 319 at full pelt!

  • Thanks, so do I. A nice loud scream!

  • Just...

    Oh....
