well actually in one of the things that plan b does is prevent the fertilized egg from implanting. So it those cases it does cause a spontaneous abortion after conception.

Yes, I had an abortion when I was 24 after my daughter's father died. I was hitchhiking to the grocery store and trying to keep 1 yr old out of traffic whilst carrying 1 bag of groceries hitchhiking home. Liveable jobs were scarce. I had no one to help me. There are millions of women STARVING on this planet, unable to feed their children and subjected to rape and with no consistent access to birth control Because of the anti-choice movement many of these women and their children died because the clinics that served them were no longer able to provide abortions. Imagine a woman working 2 jobs with 3 children because her husband died or she fled his abuse. She has only a short time each evening with her 3 children before she runs off to her 2nd job. She finds she's pregnant and realizes she will never be able to hold down both jobs whilst pregnant. Most of her money already goes to babysitters and day care. There are thousands of scenarios where it is totally unfeasible. And you assume that because you did it, everyone can.
Put yourself in that situation, imagine that you're just the cells in the womb, and about to be aborted, i think everything changes when you look at it from that perspective.

I didn't say anything about legality. Being illegal doesn't make something "wrong," either.
People who are pro-choice are not pro-abortion. Nobody LIKES abortion. Nobody WANTS abortion to happen. Being pro-choice means that you believe the morality of the situation is up to each individual and the government has no business stepping in, because there are situations where an abortion may be a necessity and we can't draw that line with the law.
It is not remotely anti-life. Only pro-freedom.

@Scythemantis I am Pro Life. I don't think abortion should be used as a method of birth control. I do however agree that if a woman's life is threatened and has no other choice but to abort, I am ok with that.
In other cases such as rape and/or incest, I do not agree with having an abortion, but I have no disregards toward any woman who has an abortions in situations like rape and/or incest.

No I don't "follow" Margaret Sanger. I don't care what an abortion LOOKS like. Heart transplants are pretty gory to look at also. Do you propose we condemn them? It's more a matter of what they feel like and since the vast majority of abortions occur when the embryo is not capable of feeling--that's a mute point.

i agree with her on the birth control issue but not on the eugenics issue. I just think Americans should look at the reality of the population issue and do something about it. I prefer more sex education. I prefer to teach boys that scoring is a bad thing not a macho thing. And I prefer availability of birth control regardless of income. But the choice to abort should be up to the doctor and his patient for a variety of reasons

BTW, I have 3 more kids My last 2 are twins. I was promoted at work ,bought a house and having marital problems.More children was not in my plan. Guess what...they are AWESOME kids. I am able to work from home and my husband and I have fixed our marraige. According to your views, I should have killed the twins because it would have been too hard. also- I was told that my daughter might have had Autism when I was 6 months pregnant. Again an amazing lack of imagination. There are millions of women STARVING on this planet, unable to feed their children and subjected to rape and with no consistent access to birth control Because of the anti-choice movement many of these women and their children died because the clinics that served them were no longer able to provide abortions. But you only care about those embryos and don't care at all about women and their children.

Imagine a woman working 2 jobs with 3 children because her husband died or she fled his abuse. She has only a short time each evening with her 3 children before she runs off to her 2nd job. She finds she's pregnant and realizes she will never be able to hold down both jobs whilst pregnant. Most of her money already goes to babysitters and day care. There are thousands of scenarios where it is totally unfeasible. And you assume that because you did it, everyone can.

@TheNaturalPurpose Actually, no it doesn't. Cells in the womb don't have an imagination and could care less if they are about to be aborted. I believe they fly right back to their maker in that case. I think it is one of the greatest sins to allow those cells to develop into a self aware human being when the mother feels unable or even unwilling to care for it and/or herself.

Plan B doesn't stop rape. If a woman is impregnated by an ASSAULT, adoption is most certainly not a solution. Simply carrying and birthing that child is a living hell. Here she was minding her own business, a man uses her body as a plaything against her will, and you expect her to change her entire life around (and yes, it still changes her life if she gives the baby away!) as well as her health, metabolism and psychological well-being? I'm really glad things worked out for her, but that is not what happens to most women. 50% of American children now live in poverty and the biggest determinant of a woman's success is whether or not she bears children.

Zukagame if you educated yourself on fetal development you might realize that an embryo or fetus at least until the 7 or 8th month is not capable of human consciousness, since the dendrites in the brain aren't developed and the neurons are incapable of firing. Fact is you are fighting for an unconscious life when the lives of the mother and possible siblings may be destroyed as a result. It should be up to the mother and her doctor to decide if she can support life in a nurturing way.

The decision is whether or not you have unprotected sex. A baby should not be killed because you made a mistake. I was in her shoes. My son is 12 years old now and is the best kid ever. If I would have listened to everyone in jmy life, my son would have been killed by abortion.

Once again, this is NOT a baby, it's a fetus I'm glad things worked out for you and that you love your son. I don't know what your circumstances are. I realize that once a relationship is developed that it's hard to give up the idea of that relationship no matter what difficulty it brings to your life. The point is to prevent a fetus from growning to self awareness in a world that cannot care for it. There are so many complex issues involved in this decision it's hard to argue in soundbites
