Loved this movie... it was so strange to watch something and literally be surprised by each turn. Back-to-the-basics, fresh, invigorating filmmaking. We need more movies like D9!
@l33tpwnzord He talks about the Half-Life influence in the 'District 9' artbook, but it was only a minor influence. He pretty much says that ultimately he wanted to see Western sci-fi integrated in an African environment. But overall, the film's main influence stemmed from his love for 'RoboCop,'
