I agree with taro19. It's one of my favorite anime's, mostly for it's intrigue. It wasn't meant to resemble Bleach or Naruto or even Kuroshitsuji. It was meant to be a simple story with little bits of facinating information and day-to-day interaction within a futuristic setting.

I get that you didn't like it, but if I dislike an anime, I either leave it alone or mention both the good and bad elements in it (and only if asked specifically to do so). Your choice, but, that's my opinion.

you really missed the point of this anime.

it is not exciting for you because the people in this era are mentally matured. For example, they are not panicked when prime minister announced "alien exists" or when they try to invade. People act more rationally or reasonably than we are today.

I think the theme is strength of mentality. The director showed his hope in the future. The society will develop not only technology but also human relationship.

Nor does it improve the voice acting

Since I already believe aliens exist... & I believe also that most of humanity does as well. I do not believe we would panic. I do however see us react more like humanity did in Robotech Macross Saga. Unite & Prepare for war.

I don't know man, sure the English Dub was a bad voice cast but decent at best in my opinion. I watch it to find out the story. But you need to remember, this anime was made in 2001, maybe even earlier. They aired it in 2001 they may have wrote it and stuff in 2000, but back then Anime wasent as well animated as it is today for some great anime

Well, I appreciate and understand how you feel.

BUT

I've been watching anime before they started using computers ...yes when everything was still HAND drawn. And The animation was vastly superior to Shingu.  I also watch many anime's for the stories. Thus my love for certain animes that most people tend to ignore or shy away from.

I actually enjoyed this anime for its storyline. To each his own eh. The voice acting isn't really that bad for a dub. If you want to see some terrible dub acting, try listening to the english Lu from Goddonar, or the first episode of Ugly Yet Beautiful

Godanar is a "FAIL" in anime. It Tries being a Action,Comedy, Hentai and well....it just sucks at it.

I've seen worse voice acting though. Including Shingu. This Ugly Yet Beautiful World. I like & dislike that Anime. You'll find out why eventually when I review it.
