  • i love this. the stoned swagger is off the charts.

  • See you on the other side Jimi.......

  • changes happening real fast for many generations after Jimi did his thing, thanks to YouTube we can research so much about Modern History & the fucken system with all its fuck ups.

  • Well, I guess Jimi did find a way outta here. FLY ON JIMI!!!

  • BABY SHOES 187 MAMA PIMP LOVES U

  • His last gig.

  • Man, his voice is so much deeper live, so much more blues. A shooting fucking star.

  • the wild cat passed away and the wind no longer howls - weve all been pacified by big hd flatscreens and garbage that passes for news and entertainment looks amazing - but is just mind numbing bull shit - things are falling apart and the princes have more barefoot servants than ever

  • The imperfection of a live performance "IS" perfection!

This version is unique and great wtg! Ty

  • @TonySkyRush So Right, it's a present moment signature, an unique one.

  • I sure love the music he made and I think often of the things he said. His words and thoughts have had a real effect on my thinking, as with SO many others of us. Atlantis,Mars,3rd.stone,art.love,music,...angels of heaven flying saucers to some,...the story of life IS quicker than the wink of an eye,...I have missed him since I heard him, and how he has affected me over the years has changed and grown. We all love him and miss him and wish he was still here to share.

  • How much truth is in that Conspirisy Theory that Jimi was murdered?

  • to the person who uploaded this amazing video, thank you. but i disagree with you, i think this is the best live version of this song that exists for us to enjoy, it is so loose and there is plenty of room for soul

  • Bands likes Zeppelin, Floyd, Doors, Hendrix give you chills? Are you physically attracted to music? I AM!

But If you think this is good well...Introducing my channel. IT attempts to open your mind up to a whole new world of musical truth. Don't forget to CHECK it OUT & subscribe IF U LIKE IT! <3muchlove

  • in fact, this is a very good version...it shows the real way of his timing with the intro riff , which has never ben clear on live performances...

on the studio version you can hear a little mess with the rhythm section...

later the original was released with Jimi counting "one, two, three..." and the riff starts on the first eight note of the fourth beat...

    I hope this is understandable...as I'm a french guy...

  • Try standing on stage with a bass player and drummer , just three of you and of course sing it yourself and you will see my point

  • the fact there is 3 guitars with many effects on them and all sorts of drums slide guitar and just about everything doubled , i think hendrix did well to do this as well as he did live

  • i love this song wow it relly moves me the guitar the lyrics i love it

  • you say Jimi has a bad singing. Well, listen to "The Wind cries Mary" at Monterey, you will see if he can't sing!

  • Sad that this man with so much talent is gone . Clapton was good, but Hendrix was great. Influenced more rock guitarists than any other man.

  • What a beatiful version. My favorite so far...

  • I was a baby when Jimmy dies, but I love his music. Long life to Jimmy

  • why does the description say 12 days after Jimi dies? was this recorded in heaven? :P

RIP Jimi, best guitarist to ever walk this Earth.

  • @CamShaft200 "after this"

  • He was the real deal and guitarists will always get inspiration from him!

  • much better than the album version

  • I was there in 1970 and it was the most exiting experience I ever had in my Rock life !

I couldn't imagine that this great and talented musician should die only 12 days after that concert. I was 15...and I was crying for days.

    never will forget Jimi !

    RIP

  • @mmbreeze AND ME I was oooooo......and now from now your youth tim it's beter tan today.now is synthetic music.plastic music gold chain aroun the nek hip hop hap hip haphop hapboomboomdead.i love your tim.

  • @mmbreeze lucky bastard

  • bad singing, the poor jimi was so exhausted and scared to be assassinated by his pseudo mafiosi manager who knew he was about to be sacked ?

  • @kinggambitabc Jimi never had bad singing, you're just an idiot.

  • @jumpinjoe88 not true, believe me i love jimi and i listen to ALL of his songs but in the 1st albums he wasn't trying as hard to sing good as he was playing that guitar. Maybe cuz he was always high on lsd

  • @kinggambitabc .Bad equipment maybe,I couldn't imagine anyone singing Hendrix songs better than Jimi,i think his voice enhanced his music greatly! I know what your getting at about the pure daylight criminal robbery, but that was the norm in that era,i don't think it would have fucked any performance.

  • can anyone hear foxy lady at 0:36

  • @sonjai159 Totally!

  • @sonjai159 no asshole

  • My friend said this is shit. I wanted to slap him.

    This is awesome!

  • @zelobinksy don't slap him! kill him...

  • @000Z9A Not really the peace, love and rock & roll mentality, is it? :P

  • Holy fucking hell, this is bloody amazing.

  • Great: This was the music of my youth and the music of my elder years too........This sound is charming, cause it isn`t perfect.........;

  • I think this is better a better version than people give it credit for, perhaps the recording device changed the pitch on the lead guitar?

  • I have a question, Fehmarn concert recorded at jimi hendrix down the vehicle with a camera with very good resolution and definition, but only that part. I do not understand because the whole entire concert filmed please respond if you have any idea

  • @cristian13know what are you talking about?

  • @edlingja1 ask about because it was not officially filmed concert as important (jimi hendrix live at isle of Fehmarn) 06/09/1970 someone must know

  • @cristian13know No one can tell what you are saying, can you retype it in English?

  • I'm speaking in English ... you're a cock sucking

  • @cristian13know I was talking about your original post. I have no idea what you are saying. Can you retype it so people can understand it?

  • @cristian13know Are you on cocaine or something, man?

  • @jumpinjoe88 HAHAHAHA

  • RIP jimi

  • RIP jimi

  • holy tits

  • Well...he found his way outta here ...maybe one day he will find his way back

  • I wish God would let him come back to earth for 2 months or longer

  • Jimi makes me want to buy a lefty guitar and play it righty

  • @thomassk8z or get a righty guitar and play it lefty

  • olo to kourdisma...sto bon studio

  • this is the best live version of watchtower i've heard!

  • i wanna get high with rooky2222

  • I wish I could hear Hendrix perform this awesome song just one more time- with huge amps, awesome effects and lots of soul.

  • In regards to the keen observation made by cdoug91 at 0.35. This was unique to Jimi's later performances where he bounced between the progression in the upper and lower register. When he did the lower register, when reaching the third chord(A) he would bounce his signature mark at the end of holding the A chord. It is an F#m#9, using the thumb to hit the low f# note. It is evident in his live youtube performances.

  • he put so much into every performance.....that dedication

  • What release is this? Cuz for some reason the quality beats the dagger Hendrix at the isle of fehmarn quailty, Very strange

  • This is one of the better versions of the song, the solos are brillant and so is the outro.

  • Thanks for calling me an idiot.

  • LSD version,, amazing

  • Jimi Hendrix is a legend.

  • Jimi reminds me to be myself

because thats all i have, the rest is illusion

  • @rooky2222 dude thats genius

  • @rooky2222 Your words blew my mind! They are so true.

  • @rooky2222 i feel da same way man

  • @rooky2222 You are the self that you are because the universe forms and shapes you into who you are. So your self is a reflection all that is and all that ever will be. Everytime I watched Jimi play live in concert it was abundantly clear that the universe was playing Jimi's body and his body responded by playing his guitar.

  • @rooky2222 that's deep. Did you come up wit that?

  • @nice1centurion straight up from gurls pussy! lol XD

  • @Zecalran what?

  • @nice1centurion yh he came up wif it after boning some chick!

  • @Zecalran yo i am just 15 years old man!

    i havent got laid yet.

  • @Zecalran Bob Dylan wrote this years before,,didn't do sh**t for him on his records. Jimi took it to the STARS

  • is this dagger records version ?

  • Hello Jimi...birthday soon.

  • To some of you, the guitar may sound sloppy... But it FITS IN THE BARS! This is awesome!

  • playing an instrument with a feeling like this is a kind of enlightment...

  • descanse en paz el mejor guitarrista de la historia

  • this is the greatest sound that has ever entered my ears

  • The best Live version of All Along The Watchtower I heard him play. However, I've only heard this one and the iles of wight version. I don't think he played this much, but it looked as though he may have been adding it to his repetoure due to public demand. He didn't mind doing that as long as it was on his terms. This is Rare. I'd love to get a version of this so I could Blast it loud on my stereo! Thank you soo much for posting this. -Keep Jimi's music alive for the sake of mankind!!!

  • @ChudawgJenkinz He was so high at Isle I thought he was going to eat the guitar. It would probably sound great, though

  • @ChudawgJenkinz Actually, I remember I did hear a version earlier from Atlanta. While I like the vocals better on the Atlanta performance, I feel this version presents more refined guitar work as far as his live All Along the Watchtower performances.

  • People like him won't rerurn at all,FUUUUUUUUUUCK!!! :'(

  • @CacoRev You're so wrong man. Real guitarists listen to this for inspiration and they will be the tomorrow of music!

  • @warriorsfunny

    he DIES 12 days later....

  • @slipfuckingknot666 oh my bad i didnt read it right

  • @warriorsfunny 12 days AFTER he dies? The description could not have said that.

  • @SeaMonster111 12 days after THIS he dies learn to read dude

  • @lionellogan He learnt to read 12 days after this performance?

  • flumpoolの隆太さんのMUSIC of theSCENEに載ってた!

  • don´t understand me wrong but i could jerk off on this...

  • wow! these pictures are awesome.

    by the way,

he didn`t perform all along the watchtower, though it was a hit.(well he made it a hit)

by the way ,did he perform castles made of sand?

  • the pic at 3:13 is that people behind those tents and shit?

  • SPECTACULAR!!!! Better than Isle of Wight!

  • its really a good version

  • 12 days after jimi dies?

  • Ok it's not the very best rendition, but Jimi still works yhe magic!

  • last awsome moments with Hendrix, T_T

  • God he's soooo wasted!! classic!! His second solo at like 0:57 is proof of that!

  • I had this version on a rough, horrible LP bootleg, with terrible speed problems. This recording is quite good for being an unofficial release. About the playing, a wasted Hendrix is nevertheless light years ahead of almost every guitar player I can think of.

  • anoyone out there in internet land know of a good site where i can get the entire henrix discography? including with the experience, BOG and any other side projects he had with other musicians. thank you fellow hendrix lovers. peace n love

  • sorry but if you think being wasted makes you a good guitar player your so wrong lmao, you dont suddenly take acid and start playing like jimi hendrix mate thts a fucked up theory you got thre lol.

  • Something I have always thought was harder than shredding or playing arpegio sweeps and the like is making your guitar sing and it being free flowing and fully independent from the basic melody format

  • this was his last concert

  • JIMI,my #1 fav forever.love like no over.

  • "Love...the story of love is quicker than the wink of an eye the story of love is 'hello' and 'goodbye' until we meet again." Jimi Hendrix

  • RIP jimi you're the best

  • Was his black strat broken or not working properly? Because it has that Isle of Wight tone again. Or is that his amps creating that sound. You can hear that tone hear at Atlanta, and Isle of Wight. At Fillmore his tone was incredible but i think his guitar was damaged or something.

  • @thenoobassassin i think it was the marshalls after years of use y'know have you noticed they piss like fuck on the isle of wight he used full gain and volume so they were worn out i think they were giving out, shame really but still its damn beautiful sound though hendrix could make dying amps sound good :)

  • dude do u any of u really beleive that he put acid in his headband? gimme a break. that would render him totally incapable of doing anything, as demonstrated by his performance at madison square garden jan 1970, in which he took acid right before the show and shortly into the show, he sat down, refused to play, then went to his room with stomach cramps. and his playin wasnt good

  • Did anyone else catch the short part from Foxy Lady after 0.35?

  • good ear

  • @cdoug91 hell yeah, i thought i heard that too

    $~*Toks*~$

  • @cdoug91 ~Caught it! Thanx Bro. ;)

  • @cdoug91 nice ear man

  • Comment removed

  • @cdoug91 yeah....definetly

  • @cdoug91 Yes! The interval of a 4th and the two quarvers are great reminders of the motif of Foxey Lady. Thats whats great about Hendrix that most people dont get: everything is improvised with great ability.

  • I also find Dylan's version boring, almost dead. Sounds like weeping, unlike Hendrix, who was full of life. I don't think much of Dylan, anyway, except a few songs like Hurricane or Slow Train Coming, this one spiced by Mark Knopfler.

  • Your'e right.

Check out how Franz Zappa holds Dylan ridicule in Cheik yer bouti (song "flakes")

  • the sound is all in the fingers. end of... lol

  • his one flaw was tht he was always wasted far too wasted on stage to play at his best , saying tht i love jimi !

  • That's because he soaked his headband in acid and when he would sweat the acid would absorb into his skin and he'd trip.

  • man youre dumb

  • lol were'd u get that wikipedia?

  • @RamzFan92

    BULLSHIT!

  • @RamzFan92 no offense dude, but if you soaked an entire head band in acid....I don't even know what would happen, one drop of good lsd will melt your mind to the point you might need a babysitter, depending how it grabs you. I'm guessing maybe he took a four way, or maybe even a 10 strip and put it between the rag and his head.

  • @NeilsinMandela08 playing wasted it what made him the best...there ain't too many people that can play that good sober as a judge. Plus if he wouldn't have been wasted on drugs he wouldn't have been able to push boundaries like he did. Drugs aren't necessarily bad. thats why its called an experience. you don't sound too experienced bro.

  • @bluntmasterflash wow you're so cool i wish i was you.....wait, no i don't

  • @bluntmasterflash thank god for that

  • @bluntmasterflash wow you're so cool i wish i was you.....wait, no i don't

  • @bluntmasterflash wow you're so cool i wish i was you.....wait, no i don't

  • course I knew that! Call it a silly joke, what I was trying to say is that Dylan / Zimmerman is better a composer than a singer. And I make mine Byrontheone's comment (second before mine). In my opinion, Hendrix made a masterpiece of a song that sounds rather dull when sung by Dylan.

  • if hendrix had one flaw i think it's that he was too good

  • Still dead on as a player until the end. RIP Jimi.

  • I keep waiting for the technology to be developed that is capable of turning recordings like this into high quality. Man that would be awesome! I love Jimi and I have 100's of recordings, but it has always been tough to listen to stuff like this because of the quality. I have heard that this was an incredible show! Oh well. Thank God someone taped it anyway!

  • I agree and disagree, respectfully. As awesome as it would be to filter the impurities out of a recording such as this, it would also be nearly tragic. The extra noise/ impurities add so much to what would be otherwise dead space. It is like listening to vinyl. Anyway, I definitely agree that a clear version would be awesome as the original rough version would still remain so you would have the best of both worlds!

  • When I found out the song had been written by Dylan, I thought Robert Zimmermann (the songwriter) should sue Dylan (the sad howler). Hendrix put so much energy in a song that used to put me to sleep.

  • Bob Dylan is a stage name, Robert Zimmermann is his real name. They are the same person.

  • @jjsanes i dont know if you are making a silly joke or did not know Dylan is from minnesota-his name is robert zimmerman and he is a woody guthrie freak-at least at the start

  • Thanks for posting this

  • One of the best songs that Dylan ever wrote and that Hendrix transformed into a masterpiece.

  • yes. i once read somewhere that robert zimmerman said that jimi made it his own

  • anybody here actually play

    cuz i do

  • how long u been play? wat kind of styles u like?

  • @mytoehurtsreallybad

    With yourself?? That doesn't count

  • - to which it would have usually, and this contributes to the "hendrix Tone" or "Hendrix Sound". It actually makes all the difference, so i think he would have cut a new pickguard on his newly aqquired lefty and placed the pickup to the opposite diagonal, so he could remain with his true "pure" Hendrixafiyed sound! (made that word up by the way, didn'y know how to spell it! =]) MIss you Jimi, Soon coming up: 1969 "Happening for Lulu, Jimi Hendrix BBC appearance" being 41 years old.(4th of Jan)

  • well, I think I will buy a fender tomorrow and turn the pickups... didn't know that THIS made this specific h.e.n.d.r.i.x.a.f.i.y.e.d. sound :D

    cheers

  • Ghosh, just really really, really think abouut what would of happened if jimi hadnt of died, clapton was going to give jimi a lefty that on thr day that he died, so he would have received that, and probably sponsored lefty guitars by FENDER (R) after this. Personally i think he would have done his own pickub job if he had a lefty, because on a flipped righty strat, the slanted pickup changes the tone totally because the thick string is vibrating iver the opposite side of the pickup to which

  • I Dont Know how true this is but i read and saw the pics on a USA auction website a few of jimi's guitars its an old page 10 yrs or so and he had a llefty in sunburts that he played in his apartment in 1970 backed up by jerry stickles the ligiamacy but he never played it like think he preferd the controls up on top

  • This recording is compiled from 3 different recordings of the same show. All 3 recordings had flaws, but with the 3 they were able to capture almost every nuance of the sound.

  • ABSOLUTELY*** I can still remember the news report saying HENDRIX had passed away. The sadness remaims.***
