  • i seem to love every song i come across

  • @Sindri44 They are just heavenly.

  • Can someone tell me how to get this album? cuz I dont know where to buy it (or sth. else)(Same with Infinity Album) | Kann mir jmd sagen wie ich an dieses Album rankomm? Weiß nicht wo ichs kaufen könnte (oder sonst wie bekommen könnte)

  • Love that pic. Love that song.

  • I don't know why everyone is complaining. Yes, Biffy used to be more rock and they are a bit less now but it's not a bad thing. They are just evolving. If every album was the same it would be pretty boring and repetitive. They are just keeping it fresh, it doesn't mean they are changing just to be more popular. I love old Biffy, new Biffy, all kinds of Biffy! So shut up and enjoy the music! :)

  • One person isn't The Ideal Height

  • Biffy have always been underrated, and I'm just glad that they're finally getting the attention they deserve. I can only hope that some new fans will be curious enough to check up on the back catalogue, fall in love with Beggars Banquet Biffy, and make it justified for Biffy to write in this style again.

  • @TheNeutralFan That is EXACTLY what needs to happen! A new old-school Biffy album would be incredible...

  • @JoeDull Cheers mate.

Biffy have always been great, and they still are, but there is an undeniable, unhinged charm in their first three albums that is, if not missing, then somewhat diminished in Puzzle and OR.

    PIty really.

Still though, I find that anyone who feels Biffy themselves are diminished can't have seen them live.

Even just seeing live videos is enough to prove they can still scream and rock out Biffy style. It's just a shame that that attitude hasn't made it onto the albums.

  • @TheNeutralFan You're absolutely right, and Lonely Revolutions is further proof that they're still a bit mental. I just think they've lost the element of surprise that came with their older stuff - where you never knew what would come next in a song, be it screaming or some crazy time signature or glitchy guitar work. I also like their new stuff, but having some of the old influence on the next album would be great.

  • @JoeDull Yeah, the tone of Biffy's newer b-sides almost makes me wonder if they're trying to make up for the more mainstream style of OR and Puzzle.

I mean, 14th Floor would obviously prefer a more mainstream-friendly style so as to appeal to a wider audience, and therefore sell more copies. "We would rather be ten people's favourite band than a thousand people's tenth favourite band."

That kind of attitude makes it hard for me to believe that Biffy would willingly change so dramatically.

  • @JoeDull What I'm trying to say is that the style of Puzzle and OR may be more down to Biffy's new label than Biffy themeselves.

Anyway, they're still one of the best alt-rock acts out there, and unless they make a (c)rap album, they'll always be riffing through my headphones.

  • @TheNeutralFan Is that an actual quote?? But yes, amen to that.

  • @JoeDull Yup. If you go to the Sonisphere site its in Biffy's bio.

  • @TheNeutralFan That's what I'm doin' right now... I've been finding a bunch of older songs of his and there's a ton that I've liked so far =P

  • @LemonOperations I'm glad to hear it. You might want to check out their B-sides too, as they are just about all fantastic songs in their own right and closer to their older style than their new albums.

Biffy don't write B-sides, they write songs that they release as B-sides. And some of them are bloody fantastic.

  • @TheNeutralFan I have to say I bought OR and Puzzle and was like wow this band kicks ass! Then I went backwards to the days of Infinity Land Vertigo of Bliss and Blackened Sky and wow... Simply amazing! I love all their albums :D

  • @619willp Yup. The next step is to see them live. It's like the difference between Infinity Land and Puzzle all over again.

  • Well, except... sort of backwards, you know?

  • @TheNeutralFan I'm afraid I don't follow? I know I've gone backwards and I suppose I can never be considered a true fan of Biffy for it, but I do wish that all the other new fans would do the same. They're missing out.

  • @619willp Sorry, I meant that seeing them live is like the difference between Infinity Land and Puzzle, except backwards. So it's like listening to Puzzle, a great album, and then being absolutely and completely blown away by the jaw-dropping genius of Infinity Land.

    Hope that helps.

  • @TheNeutralFan Yes it does :) I've had the pleasure of seeing Biffy live and I know what you mean. Raw power and definately the old Biffy then

  • @619willp Ah, good for you. They are just about impossible to beat live.

  • @TheNeutralFan The sight of Simon jumping off the top of amp at the start of Glitter and Trauma... EPIC!

  • @619willp From what I hear he's broken his ankle three or four times while trying that move, but it's worth it nevertheless.

  • @TheNeutralFan Obviously doesn't listening to the warnings the doctor probably gives him!

  • SO FUCKING PERFECT THAT TYPING THIS IN CAPITALS IS JUSTIFIED.

  • I fuckin love this track!!!!!!!!!!

    sadless,amazing lyrics...FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Epic album cover is epic.

  • I remember being 10 and my mum wouldn't let me buy this because of the cover.

  • totally agree. everything before Puzzle was truly awsome.

  • is mon the biff something scottish or so? i wanna know xD

  • @Brzrkr667 There nickname was 'Biffy' and then the Biff, and mon is short for 'Come on'/C'mon

Scots say mon all the time, as in "Mon wi' me tae buy nappies, yer breeks are stinkin'!"

  • @FatBlackFrancis oow ok, thanks mate!

I reeeeally can't understand that sentence, but at least 'mon the biff's clear to me xD Peace!

  • @Brzrkr667 yeah its scottish:)

  • i heard about biffy after puzzle but i still went back and checked out their older albums and they're amazing. mon the biff!

  • 4 albums???

i think ull find ur missing 1.....big biffy fan eh?

  • mate think about it, he said that 7 months ago when there were only 4 albums... good at maths eh?

  • MERKED!!

  • Comment removed

  • wicked band, but mountains??? rubbish... love all 4 albums, and hate when people say "have you heard that new band biffy clyro" cos i`ve followed them from the start!!!

my dog is also named "biffy", now people say, "oh i now know why your dogs called biffy"

    you can imagine, i`m sure...

  • i only got into biffy a couple of years ago, but even i know they have had 4 albums and been big since about 2002. just really starting to get into the earlier stuff recently and i fucking love it!

  • So glad this song is on youtube, my version of this album is completely screwed up: this song finishes at 2.45! And loads of the others start skipping halfway through. But...it is a copy.

I don't know what old Biffy is like, I only have The Vertigo Of Bliss and Blackened Sky. Can anyone give me a complete list of their albums?

  • Albums In order:

    Blackened sky

    Vertigo of bliss

    Infinity Land

    Puzzle

They released a few bits and bobs before but you'd have to pay to get them.

Blackened sky and vertigo count as their "old stuff" in my opinion.

  • Thanks, will check them out on Spotify ... if Biffy Clyro are on there. It really bugs me that you can't listen to Pink Floyd on Spotify!

  • Vertigo and Infinity Land are my two favourite albums. I would'nt say that biffy sold out after releasing puzzle at all. That album has some awesome songs like "Saturday superhouse" and "Get fucked stud" which are live classics in the making.

I was a little dissapointed with Mountains because i heard it live before i actually heard the single version, which to me feels a bit watered down.

    But that's just me.

  • @Hard1e oh sweet damn puzzle was good. living is a problem is a sick song, they opened with a living is the problem/ that golden rule medley when i saw em in december

  • @Hard1e I think that Mountains is a good song, actually. And live it's probably better (I still haven't see them live, but I suppose it's epic). But I have problems liking some other songs

  • prob my favourite off bliss, great art work as well.

  • yer i have to agree, there are a couple of realy good tunes off puzzle though.

  • I'm a bit new to Biffy Clyro, but i'm a massive Reuben fan, so people compare the two sometimes, and I listened to a few songs off puzzle on youtube, and I thought they sounded a bit soft really. But theire older stuff is definately better. I'm glad Reuben didn't sell out.. RIP

  • R.I.P.. what an awesome band

  • RIP to reuben (not ironic) the biffy will rock back..and i think saturday superhouse or who´s got a match are still great

  • the b sides of puzzle are much better

even the mountains b sides are like the old

    biff

    have a listen

    x

  • that girls in a rudey dudey postion :O

  • Yeah ö

    XD haha.

  • That's because Milo Manara is one of the most perverted artists I know! Mind you, I like pervy art XD

  • FORGET WHAT YOU HAD ITS VANISHED!!
