  • Can't wait to see you all in Seattle, WA USA @ Studio Seven on December 4th, 2011. Always my inspiration: I'm trying to get my friends into more of a Euro-Nordic mode: love the music, can't wait to see you all! Peace from all your fans in the Pacific Northwest...

  • Very Melodic.

  • One of the best Korpiklaani songs...

  • @TotalCookieful Tenés toda la razón, pero una de tantas canciones buenas de Korpiklaani. Todas son excelentes...

  • @TotalCookieful I think the coolest korpiklaani song has GOT to be Tuoppi Olta. IT KICKS ASS!!!

  • headbagning alone in my room... I cant stop.....

  • 9 tontos que no saben de musica !!

  • Korpiklaani isn't just amazing music there also were talented musicians who use a wide array of instruments...in all total Badass is putting it lightly thumbs up if you agree!!!

  • the bass in this song. ftw.

  • Dutch guys have blond hair too *wink* *wink*

  • @666COBfreak

    finnish guys too :D

  • Oh maaan, i just love the finnish language, it's so extremely badass, and beautiful at the same time. And the finnish nature and culture is awesome too. And there's so many hot men up there! I believe you can see it when their genes are not too mixed up with people from the rest of scandinavia - then they've got those wonderful slanted eyes and blonde hair. Omnomnomnom... i seriously need to move to Finland.

    Hail from Denmark. :D

  • @HedvigSpang

Jeg synes Danmark har ogsaa meget smuke mensker!! :-D hilsen fra Tyskland!

  • @FritjofGebhart Yeah, we do have handsome men here aswell, and i'll probably end up with one of those. ;) But my dream-guy is finnish. Then he should talk finnish to me, even though i wouldnt understand shit - but it's sexy. :P

  • @HedvigSpang luckily you're not so far from Finland ;)

  • @HedvigSpang Hhah thats good to hear.I live in Korpiklaani's homecity,Lahti.

  • one day this band will play in Khanawake!

  • This is my favorite song.

  • Tämä on ehdottomasti yksi Korpiklaanin parhaista kappaleista.

  • I got to admit Korpiklaani has some of the best folk metal out there...

  • ja polak kocham narody polnocy czyli cala skandynawie podziwiam i czuje sie ich czescia

  • @mamtowdu od jakichs 400 lat ja rowniez ;)

  • linkin park sucks....KORPIKLAANI is beast

  • Gods, the lead singer is so cool...

  • Only problem i have with Korpiklaani is that i cant remember the damn names of they're songs! But damn i love they're music!

  • Actually i really like teh part from 0:00 to 6:58 .. it really rocks!

  • it's such a nice easy song to listen to. also i think the singer looks like mikael akerfeldt in most of the pictures.

  • me ollan soumen sotilas,olle hyva,ja reipas

  • It got pretty weird in the forest there in the kota near Iso Syote, we sat inside listening to the silence with our faces smeared with soot so that the local spirits would recognise us as friends.I will try Kemi next time if it's even weirder!

    Long live Suomi!

  • What is wrong with beeing a heathen?they could not kill all of us.Rize up all you slavic, baltic, and celtic heathens,We cannot exept how they treat mother Earth and religions that are based on destroying whatever is really worth anything.Babylon and their religions will fall one day.

  • An overlooked band is 'Forefather', a melodic/harsh Folkmetal/AngloSaxon inspiration. Some heavy riffs and harsh Old English voice overs too.Awesome.

  • @seaxwielder , This is finnish Lol.

  • @sarahxpandaxrave

I realise this.Just thought FolkMetal/BlackMetal Nationalists might like similar melodic/harsh music.

I love this band.I also love Finland and the people. One day when I win the lottery we will return to Iso Syote....

  • @sarahxpandaxrave

I realise this.Just thought Heathen FolkMetal/BlackMetal Nationalists might like similar melodic/harsh music.

I love this band.I also love Finland and the people. One day when I win the lottery we will return to Iso Syote....

  • @seaxwielder ahh :) i am from Kemi, northern finland. you should come up there, we get weirder the higher you get up Hahaha.

  • welcome home my wayward travellers

  • une vrai chanson du nord pour repousser les dieux dams les cieux et ainsi nous laisser vivre notre vie dans nos décison aussi impie soit-elle a leur yeux de dieux

  • I like this song it makes me remind of my childhood!

    I really don't known why!

    En tarjuta!

  • @Zygastron You french people famousely understand art. Your feeling of your childhood supports that famouse stereotype, as this song starts with words: "Once grow up a beautifull son.... and the song is much about the son". So you didint maybe understand any finnish word, but you still understood what its about! :D

  • @TheQneb Really? That's pretty strange, I'm a girl!

  • I lke this song it makes me remind of my childhood!

    I really don't known why!

    En tarjuta!

  • MAN, the intro kills! It's awesomness!!

  • @Kizales yeah, Mustaine is a beast. some other american bands to check out are Iced Earth and Powerglove. These are all bands I immensely enjoy.

Numetal bands just don't have the raw intensity of true metal. Metal is not for the weak; rather, it soars and pounds through the ground, carried proud and far on the wings of eagles.

  • kaakilan linnanvuori..moniko käynyt?? upea paikka..viimeinen saamelaisten asuinsija...vesilahdessa

  • This song is great, kept on listening to it the other day while on shrooms, i was so fucking amazed at all the instruments playing like that and everything, still am amazed right now lol !!!!

    Greetings from Quebec !!!

  • This song tells about a folktale of a happening in Vesilahti, Finland during the time finns were pagans. As I understand some christian preacher called 'hunnun herra' converted finns to christians. Kirmukarmu who was the 'leader' of this place didn't like it and caught him, and tore his hands off. :)

  • veri rautta

  • this song is awesome

  • @KorpiGus just press "print screen" button on your keyboard, open windows pain, press "ctrl + v" (edit - paste) and then cut the picture and save it as jpg

  • great song...

  • Korpiklaani on erittäin hyvä! Kylvää hyvää folk metal-yhtye!

  • @Hikk0 Well, it's gonna B quite a discussion! Actually, we, the northern europeans ought to (critically!) turn back 2 our native believes givin' our "Middle East import" up, little by little! xDDD Nowhere in the world do people live in harmony with the nature stronger than in the Northern Europe. Ancient gods of nature then? xDD Questions, questions.....xDD

  • @Hollandia777 you know what its about friend.....from Powell Rive, British Columbia,Canada. fuck dogma,,,,,real spirit and the supernatural. Of history ; everone loves story's and methods the books of the 1st mega published spread ....and so reading common.... but religion can suck animists balls, weather descended from europe, native american and so on...GET REAL! CHRISTIANS, MUSLIMS. the fact u are here is enough to know magic but ur story is shit.

  • @hazyn123

Lis'n! The whole adoo here is 'bout christianity/paganism conflict. OK? Instead of labellin' something as "a shit story" try 2 "get it - progress (almost) always means better order of things. The same is valid for all our beliefs. (Though sometimes it can go wrong! xDD...)

  • @Hollandia777

Questions, questions, many you ask, about the future and some of the past. I've seen you ride up on a stallion as white as snow, etc. Vesivehmailla, kaipasilla kalmankarkuriuilla.

  • @Simpson654 ...This stallion is even anti-flash white, u no!...

    彼はとても素敵です!

  • @Hollandia777

    agreed good comment

    hit me up!

  • @Hikk0 Well...we sometimes do romantize ancient times, all those gemanic/scandinavian Odins, Freyas and Walhalla (charming place all our northern warriors finally ought 2 get into!) xDD We often forget the dark side of this story - human sacrificing, 4 instance. xDD P.S. As far as Korpiklaani concerns - these guys should be declared (almost!) the saints! IMAO xD

  • @Hikk0

Lis'n - it's merely 'bout this wonderful music of the band from ur country; we, actually, don't need to go that deep! xDDD Just "information" model of the world is a nice idea, but... It always has 2 B a combination/confrontation of rational knowledge & "unlogical" spirituality (otherwise it's too boring!) xDDD Don't forget the strength of our (healthy) conservatism; just imagine WHAT happens in our world if "they" officially declare God doesn't exist!...xDDD

  • @Hikk0

I totally agree with you (The part about the tools and the nowadays).

Hm, I think youtube is perfect ;-).

  • @Hikk0

O, plzz, don't go too theoretical on utube, OK? Everythin' is been constantly changin' and our knowledge isn't a crank either, u no; it's just somethin' that non stop changes as well. The "sad thing" 'bout it (xDDD!) is that an "absolute truth" runs away from us even faster than we try 2 approach it, with every step we make! xDDD. 2 live through this unpleasant fact happier we decided 2 call all this G-O-D.xDD

  • @Hikk0

Well...Just think 'bout this - what R the beginnin' & the end of the time? Or - what is a smallest/biggest thing? (4 instance, even the smallest paricle we know can B divided into somethin' even smaller, u no. Etc., etc...) God is some way somethin' that causes the fact we, humans, r never able 2 get an absolute truth, u no...

  • @Hikk0

The fact oh-so many many things aren't explained yet is merely a fuckin' matter of time. But then - there R some things we'll never explain: TIME, SPACE, ENERGY, and so on. God is there!

  • @Hollandia777

It's not because we cannot yet answer all questions of life and science that there -IS- a God. Of all arguments and discussions I've had, none of them made me feel like there -must- be a God because there is no alternative thinking way. I do not exclude an existence of a God, though I do with the Christian God and all. But a God like: a power, a source... Though I still believe in nothing; There is never a question which answer is "God", there are more possibilities than just God

  • @Geoffry7575

Well, some say God is an excellent mean 2 fulfil that horrible black hole in our souls, u no!...(A magic remedy! xDDD) P.S. But honestly - utube is absolutely WRONG place 4 theological discussions!) xDD

  • @Hikk0 :

    - Not all theories are included in the video. But people; it is a known fact that life is evolved and not created by a greater something. There are things science can't explain, yet or perhaps never will. But that doesn't mean that the word "God' must be placed upon that unknown answer of the question.

    - About the bible, better not follow it to it's core. The bible is not only tolerance and peace.

    - Personally i think fundalism is never good, in nothing. Not even in science.

  • @Hikk0 Actually, if you want to get to the real beginning of Carbon. The first contact wth C14 is with collisions between meteorites that hit the earth and left carbon behind from other places in galaxy (that is the thought of the begin of life). Also; the big bang created other planets and stars, which in their term create Carbon due pressure in the star, they 'll explode, which spreads it into the universe.

  • @Hikk0 im quite not sure if it was einstein but somebody said that the probability that the earth bred of the big bang is the same as if a printing office explodes and after the explosion you've got a book...

and the dinosaurs...most date-analyses of fossils are based on the supposition that the concentration of c14 (an isotope of carbon) was constant since the birth of the world so it isn't really proof that they didn't exist the same time like human beings! so where is your well proven fact?

  • @piinaz but in fact it's a senseless discussion which doesn't fit to a youtube video! and this stuff will ever be a question which will never be solved and only the dead know the answer...either you believe it or you don't , no matter if it is creation or evolution, jesus or odin, mohammed or buddha...nobody will ever be able to say without a doubt why and how the earch and the universe was born and what will happen after we die and what happened 2000 years ago...all you can do is to expect!

  • @Hikk0 well fundamentalism i not bad at all because the bible just says what would be for your best if you did it so real fundementalists would be very tolerant and wouldn't condemn people by their deeds or opinions. the christians you mean are those who read the bible as a book of rules...i read it as a book of wisdoms and counsels and then christianity is a pretty nice religion i think!

  • @piinaz FINALLY!

  • Amazing song!

  • @thepeterlong

Yeah he and another member are from vesilahden.

  • Hail Korpiklaani from Finland!

Ihan parasta musiikkia mitä olen kuullut! Ihanaa Suomi!

  • YAY ANTICHRISTIANITY

  • @imarealgamer YAY RELIGIOUS BIGOTRY DISGUISED AS ANTI-RELIGIOUS BIGOTRY!

  • @NikovK

    Wait, there was a disguise?

  • @inthecommonmind Not much of one. I don't understand how people can get upset at religious hatred yet themselves hate a religion. It strikes me as very hypocritical.

  • @NikovK

I don't really "hate" religion, just the religious. Any chance I have to upset them I will typically take.

  • @imarealgamer So you hate the people themselves and won't even justify your actions by hating the lesson but not the teacher. You are admitting to bigotry and hatred and boast of it publicly. You should really consider if this is the sort of man you should be.

  • @NikovK

Ah well, guess I am am bigot. I should tell my religious friends to whom I poke fun. Then I'll get that, "I told you so speech for a week." haha

  • @imarealgamer damn typos

  • @imarealgamer It is a normal reaction to hate those who oppress you as a group even though only certain members of that group are a problem. The history of Christianity is a bad one. Like Neitzsche said, the only Christian who ever lived died on the cross. When I walked away from it, it took a while to accept that not all of them are bad and out to get me.

The best way to deal with them is smile, nod, and DON'T DRINK THE KOOLAID! :-)

  • @ziggyofthenorth

Yeah that's typically what I do, just felt like having a pointless argument lol.

  • Comment removed

  • @NikovK Look up Bigotry, as my statement does not fit it.

...on purpose anyway. However, it is Anti-religious sentiment/ religious hatred.

  • @imarealgamer

Wikipedia: A bigot is a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices. The correct use of the term requires the elements of obstinacy, irrationality, and animosity toward those of differing opinion.

The term is also used to refer to persons hostile to people of differing race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, religion etc.

On purpose or not, it fits.

  • So good...:)

  • Doesn't the title mean something like 'The gates of Vesilahti'?

  • Actually Hunnun Herra didn't die, Kirmu just severed his hands. Years later Kirmu regretted his wrongdoings and after unsuccesful campaign against Novgorod he turned into christianity and was forgiven by Hunnun Herra.

  • I always find it aggravating how people, like the native americans, get 'conquered' by the europeans and even now are often VERY devout christians. Why? The finns seem to have a similar story to me. I like that there are finns who will proudly tell a tale of chasing such a wicked blind-faith preaching hypoctritical religion out of their homeland!

  • @Zogembu

Native Americans can be like that too, there are just VERY few of them. Even less care about telling other people.

  • First time i'll have the occasion i'll gladly travel to Finland......more precisely the hometown of Korpi!!!

  • Korpiklaani

Manda mto bem no Folk Metal

    Quero ver Show no Brazil

  • This song is great!

  • Korpies make me learn Finnish. :)

  • lol same here

  • @Kefir96 I had more motivation that just Jonne and the guys! ^^

  • @nodeterin Yea, not only Korpies, i like cold weather and more in Finland.

  • @Kefir96 I wrote an essay on Finland on 7th grade... back then I knew not much of the metal world. And somehow Finland and I have crossed paths again and again over the years. :D

  • Un saluto da Grosseto......grande gruppo, grande musica.........un abbraccio a tutti da grosseto, Italia

  • KORPIKLAANI ON PARAS! parempaa ei vois olla.

  • Wooyaa!!!! korpiklaani on parasta ;)

  • This my favarite group!!!!! I from Russia

  • I want to live in Finland.

  • <3 Finnland

    <3 Korpiklaani

    <3 Vodka

    greetinx from Hungary

  • European Metal music is great... cant get good music like this is USA...

  • @0666lucifer you damn right! We only get Britney Spears, 50 cent and shit like that.

    F@ck! Now I'm pissed off! >:D

  • Yeah. I just discovered this band. Can't wait to buy an album, or for them to come back to the US. I discovered them to late they were only a 2 hour drive away in january but i hadn't heard of them at that time.

  • @theanonimityonion That, my friend, is bad luck!

I missed their Paganfest-tour with Ensiferum but I was away at that time. :((

  • @0666lucifer Metallica? Black Label Society? Disturbed? Rob Zombie? lol there are plenty of good American metal bands, but those are just about a few of the best we got with all this numetal crap going around. i hate when ppl call it numetal when it sounds nothing like metal at all, such as linkin park and the deftones and bullet for my valentine and my chemical romance. thats not metal, thats modern shit rock.

  • @Kizales The better American metal bands include Dream Theater, Symphony X, Manowar, Pantera, Megadeth (my opinion are infinitely better than all those other metal bands you listed save for Metallica). I agree with you, just wanted to add an addendum to your list :)

  • @steamidjf yeah i will admit i forgot Megadeth, because i like both Megadeth and Metallica, just Metallica more cuz i get annoyed by Dave's voice. but i never heard of any of the other bands you mentioned except Pantera of course. i oughtta check em.out. and Korpiklaani is beast, probably one of my new favorites!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @Kizales i hate you realy linkin park is me favorite band but korpiklaanie the second and linkin park plays much styles not only moderen rock also nu metal rapcore underground rap alternative rock and-metal and techno and if you dont belive me check on wiki pedia or listen to some songs from the past just like one step closer ,points of autority or forgotten and all and if you still dont belive me jusst fuck up. by the way did you know what nu metal is (thats metal whit rap mixed)

  • @tomekisdebest Yeah, I know what nu-metal is. A horrible combination of a great genre with a (mostly) shitty genre. I like some rap like Immortal Technique and Tech N9ne, but you really SHOULD NOT mix metal with rap. That should really be common sense for all true metal fans. Trust me, I tried listening to Linkin Park, and it's TERRIBLE! I'd be EMBARRASSED to be caught listening to them, honestly.

  • hahha asun vesilahdessa (:

  • nagyon jó zenéitek vannak! (Hungary)

  • en colombia mañana hijueputa!!!

  • Korpiklaani will be in BRAZIL !!!! Yuhaaa...Will be a great folk/viking Metal !!! Curitiba 20th mars 2010 !!!! I gonna GOOOO !!!! Beer beer , la ra lará lá !!

  • Hail from America! Man I love this stuff, makes me wish I was still living in Europe :/

  • @ALMOSTSTANDY you're right! :D do you know how vodka smells? Europe, especially Poland and Scandinavia are the best places to live and drink !!

  • KORPIKLAANI ROCKS!!! (From Denmark!) xD

  • korpiklaani is so fun be in concert with! so much fun KORPIKLAANI IS PURE FOLK METAL!

  • KORPIKLAANI IS AWESOME!!!

    Greetings from Hungary!

  • @ValkoinenSusiHun i'm argentinian, but im now in hungary, but i'm going to see them live in argentina.

  • there will be a Metal Fest in may where they will play. i will be there ^^

  • @ValkoinenSusiHun yes, i knoe, a lot of friends of hungary are going to that metal fest.

  • @SaanBatero

that will be awesome as vodka :D

  • Hail from Russia korpiklaani rulesss my favorite folk metal band

  • FYI: Title means something like At the gates of Vesilahti

  • What album is this on?

  • GREAT FOLK METAL!!!

  • The fact that most finnish (at least youngsters) greatly dislike Swedish is true. Mostly, yes, because they are forced to learn it. I sincerely agree with this thought myself too.

  • Magnifique !

  • Easyway1: maybe Finns don't like Swedish because they are forced to learn it. It's unique in the world that majority of people need to learn minoritys language (there is about 5% swedish speaking people in Finland). By the way, learning Swedish won't help you to understand this song, as Finnish is not related to Swedish or any other Indoeuropean languages.

  • @mattoverho

I believe it is descended from ancient finno-uriac languages.

  • imarealgamer: Yes, Finnish is Finno-Ugric language, it's closely related with for example Karelian, Estonian and Saami, more distant relatives are Hungarian and some languages spoken in the area of Russia (as Finno-Ugric languages have been spoken there long time before Russians came). So it's not related with Indoeuropean languages.

  • @mattoverho is to hungarian... the same roots.. but different evolution??

  • Comment removed

  • Excelent song!

  • What? No, they are Finnish.

  • Kiristivät kourantyngät

    Raual polttivat valtimot

    Siihen suistu hunnun herra

    Väsy vanhus vaivaamasta

    Kirmun töitä kauhisteltiin

    Teko pääty tarinoiksi

    Noissa maissa messäsissä

    Vesilahen veräjillä

  • 5:35 "Everyone knows I'm sexy"

  • if you try to "buffalax" it in croatian, it sounds really funny for some parts, maybe even better than benny lava XD

but, who would laugh at croatian language, hardly 30 million people know it's basics :/
