  • Good save!

  • It's so freakin huge that its tremendous weight actually slows it down significantly during landing...

  • Why do you waste our time with this?

  • That thing looks like it's goin 8 mph.

  • I'm thinking he forgot to auto-arm the spoilers during the approach and then armed them once he discovered he was beginning to bounce...sure seems that way.

  • Red Necks

  • That is one big bird.

  • Could you do better you fucking assholes?

  • @Th3Spaminat0R That's exactly what your relatives said to your parents when you were born...

  • @SenorSpode Oh no! [ SeniorSchode the internet tough guy ] was offended by my comment. What a sensitive little bitch you are. Your cheap insults are a feeble attempt at trying to offend me. Do try again..

  • @Th3Spaminat0R Nah, I don't believe in excessive cruelty to animals. Nice try...Have A Nice Day, Sperminator.

  • @SenorSpode If you dont believe in excessive cruelty to animals, tell your mom to stay off my dick and keep her on a leash lol

  • That wasn't a bounce that's a float bounces are harder

  • He must have needed the landing currencies and logged two on that one. LOL!!!!

  • Although I do not see a bounce...it is simply amazing something that huge and heavy can fly, but as long as thrust and lift are greater than drag and weight it will get airborne.

  • not to bad.

  • GAY!!!!!!!

  • Geez, I love the sound of a C-5. On another note, if they could return, wouldn't Wilbur and Orrville be in awe of the sight of a Galaxy about to touch down?

  • @85iceman absolutely they would not know what to think.

  • Boing! USAF style

  • ID hardly call that a bounce....

  • Where was the bounce?

  • BOUNCE? MORE LIKE FLOAT, BUT STILL AN INTERESTING VIDEO.

  • so many dislikes cos noone cares ? and cos it doesnt actually bounce?? lol

  • Love those GE TF-39 turbines

  • check those struts

  • thats another way of braking by stalling it the other odd way is reserve trust before it touches down

  • Hey look a C-17 is coming out of the runway lol

  • Was that a combat landing? ...lol

  • Well with the low quality its hard to see but i think i can.

  • bfd

  • Oh Hells Yeah, it did!! Spent some time dealing with C-5's when I was with the Seabees. Big, Big Sons of -----es! Funner than heck.

  • 272 people excepted a crash

  • 269 people are blind

  • He's "light." That's all.

  • there goes another $5000 of the us budget up in smoke.......

  • @bruffy68 Pure stupidity and ignorance.

  • Wow

  • bouncy bouncy

  • You are now In-Country.

  • i dont care what any1 says,if i was flying that and it bounced like that i would poo myself

  • who saw the two people with bikes trying to cross the runway?

  • thank you for the video.....

for now on when im sleepy and want a nap ill watch it.

  • Such a small bounce it's hardly worth mentioning. Not exactly a greaser, but still a decent landing. Go to any major airport & watch the big iron land, especially on a windy afternoon. They bounce sometimes. Normal operations.

  • @dcs002 actually that bounce could have crashed the plane if u looked closely..

  • @xunkownx499 Absolutely not. If you have to look hard to see the bounce, it's a decent landing. (I'm guessing you don't fly much?)

  • In a correct landing, you are supposed to stall the aircraft at the point just before touchdown. Stalling refers to the elimination of all lift. This aircraft of several tons did not bounce but it touched the runway while it was still flying, not stalling to land.

  • @KE1MP You're only supposed to land small single-engine aircraft with a stall. You can't do that with multi-engine aircraft because if you need to go around with an engine-out, applying full power to the remaining engine at or very near stall speed will cause loss of control - an unrecoverable stall/spin. That's why all multi-engine aircraft are actually flown onto the runway. (more)

  • @dcs002 Some single engine planes (e.g. the Cessna 177 Cardinal) cannot be landed at full stall either because they have a laminar flow wing design that makes stalls abrupt and uneven. Personally I think the full-stall landing in small singles is over-rated, and although it reduces the possibility of bouncing and porpoising that can occur in a sloppy landing, it's really difficult to set it down comfortably for passengers. I flare and hold it, wait for the stall horn, and then let it settle.

  • No bounce people.

  • @AW320 it did bounce from 0:59 to 1:08 look inside the rectangles carefully

  • C-5s always do a little bouce when they land. landing gear has to be fixed half the time. beastly thing...

  • Touch and gos...I count two visual approach landings for the logbook. :)

  • Yea, it looked more like a ground effect type of a float to me, too. No big deal.

  • The C5 Galaxy is a show most of the Antonov plane is bigger than him but I think the design of the C5 Galaxy and cutest most detailed one perfect aircraft

  • Why ariplanes landing?

  • just to dumb

  • lol red hat guy

  • That is one huge bounce ! .... why does the bounce happen, is it because the plane lands hard or is it because there is a lot of airspeed and nose is pitched up ?

If it lands hard then wont the landing gear collapse?

  • @TripleKanwar not really, i mean, it depends on the plane, the main gear is sturdy enough, and is built to ensure a non collapse on such a bounce. the nose wheel, would snap like a toothpick though.

well, bounces happens more or less because when you touch down, most likely a little fast, you weren't sinking enough, so the pilot probably tried to lower the nose a bit, ended up catching some wind, along with the rebound from the bounce, creates a porpoise effect.

  • The guy @ 1:14 : I could have landed it much better!

  • @PersianvBTheme haha, yeah thats what I was thinkin too! His hat all straight up and down with his arms folded. LOL

  • @ilovebluexnick i feel your pain lol i used to live by the joint reserve base in fort worth we'd get c5s every once in a while and they are the worst wake up call EVER still its awesome watching them come in

  • Engines sound is unique :)

  • those things have such a recognizable sound... awesome planes.

  • Beautiful landing!

  • These things fly over my house in The Netherlands every day!

  • Ok....and????

  • it's not okay to bounce here?^^i am not a pilot :)

  • @philippfarag Nope. It means you came in too hot. (fast)

  • You gonna log both those landings son?

  • oh well... who hasn't bounced their plane once or twice while landing...

  • there was 2 bounces.

    1 was little

the other was a gliding kinda bounce.

    but that's what always happens.

  • @EpikStriker "there WERE 2 bounces" not was

  • bounce my ass, change your title idiot

  • @texag08 Why don't you pay the fuck attention instead of making yourself look like an asswhole and moron on youtube.

  • dude, have you ever seen a bounce?

  • There was a couple bounces there. The second was more of a float, but I'll give him credit for a bounce.

  • @av8rdav "There WERE a couple bounces there" not was

  • @rkhanji wow, grammer nazi

  • @piloty5 LoL I'm a spelling nazi too. It's grammar, not grammer.

  • @rkhanji No, it's gramma.

  • I saw the bounce, the uploader even marked the bounce with the white rectangle at 1:06......

  • Looks like a perfect landing to me.... I love watching planes take off and land somthing about it is just soo cool!

  • mom, why is this bird so loud and big ?

  • sweet video. stupid poster

  • I saw the "bounce" But, thats not really unusual for a large aircraft to do.

  • I saw it touch ground, go back up a bit for a good distance, and touch ground again. I guess that's as bouncy as something that massive can get. Awesome just the same thanks for posting. :)

  • i saw it!111111111111 1:05 BACK WHEELS!!!!!!!11

  • i saw it!111111111111

  • The camera is bouncing, not the airplane.

  • Yup... Totally bounced. The poster conveniently highlighted the gear strikes with a white box.

  • @mattie75 i also agree it was a bounce, the most voted comment is kind of stupid.

  • smooth as silk

  • it dipped just a little to back shocks

  • I forgot the terminology but it seemed like he sailed before touchdown. He didn't bounce or porpoise. He had to lower the angle of attack to let the wheels touch. If he didn't he could have sailed all the way down the runway with out landing.

  • perhaps a floaty bump...

  • Question: How COULD a aircraft like that bounce at such a slow speed?

  • A wee float perhaps, not so a bounce

  • No bounce!

  • those wings create so much lift.. i bet the landing speed can be less then a 737-800

  • Ugh...he did bouce! :58 first touchdown...then from :59 to 1:06 he is still airbourne and then lands again at 1:06...He did bounce...

  • @bassplaya1549 ugghh shut up

  • Well there was a bounce but an acceptable bounce, not too intensive, maybe it bounced because the heavy weight....

  • Actually it did bounce but it had too... it happens when theres too much force on the plane by landing to fast and pilot tried to elevate it again.. but no big problem... Seeme a good Re-correcting landing to me :)

  • Hey You Dang Wood Chucks! Quit Chuckin My Wood!

  • OMG THE TAIL WENT UP LIKE 3 CM WHEN HE LANDE OMG WERE ALL GONNA DIE ;)

  • Barely any bounce idiot!

  • that wasent really a bounce he just kept that front tire off the ground a little longer then he should have

  • Comment removed

  • and now they're going to be CH-47Fs

  • I saw the bounce

  • TF39s sound so cool.

  • didint bounce as such, it just lifted off the ground again

  • Oh yes it did bounce people....at :58 and at 1:06 watch again carefully!

  • Around 1:03, the aircraft does a slight rotation for a positive pitch change. You can see the nose wheel coming back up from the horizon at that point. I think what people are seeing as a bounce is the forward set of the main landing gear (in addition to the nose gear) lifting up as the weight was transferred to the rear set of the main landing gear.

    It clearly wasn't a bounce.

    My two cents.

  • @BR549guy Come on. At 1:05 all the main wheels are OFF the ground. Perfect bounce.

  • @flexairz You're right. I think the slight rotation there at the end put the rig airborne for a few seconds right where you said. I stand corrected. My bad. There must be an industry term for that, but a "hop" sounds a bit more descriptive than a "bounce". I mean this clearly wasn't a case where some pilot was using his plane as a pogo stick as we occasionally see. Not sure why we're picking this clip apart. It was a decent landing.

  • @BR549guy Absolutely, the pilot handled it very good. And it could be that the pilot was training and under supervision.

  • Thats cool.

  • sooo the shock asborbers go back into postion = bouncing?

    lol

  • Looked text book to me.

Love the Chinooks minus rotors in the foreground

  • thats a big mother f$%^ plane!!

  • -___________-

  • There was a tiny pebble on the runway.

  • its 2 time touchdown 0.58 and 1.05

  • could you tell me where it bounced i coulden't see it,

  • Beautiful touch on the part of the pilot. I guess any passengers felt one of their smoothest landings.

  • if that's what you classify as a bounce then all planes do that

  • wow, cool, impressive, guess what. i just wasted 1 minute and 29 seconds of my life! and guess what else! i wont be getting it back

  • believe it or not MOST PLANES BOUNCE ON LANDING

  • THATS SO FUCKING AWSOME USA !!!

  • so ah..... where do i ask for a time refund?

  • Minor hiccup, no big deal, not a bad landing at all. I've come down in B-52's and bounced so far the fuck up into the air I prayed the wings wouldn't tilt enough to hit the ground.

  • @TheSoloPilot: Please don't shout!

  • WHY DOES A CRAP QUALITY VIDEO OF A 20 YEAR OLD PLANE LANDING GET MORE VIEWS THAN MY VIDEOS?! T_T

  • @TheSoloPilot Beacause you just shouted

  • DUMBO has landed

  • Exploredia,com

  • So he bounced...he can log two landings.

  • Yes, there is some "bounce" as the "howecogitate" calls it. However, given the wind, the angle of attack was careful and the word "bounce" should be replaced with the term "minor after-lift".

  • @Bettiem44 well said and i perfectly agree with you on that one if it had 'bounced' maybe 15ft in the air i would say its a bounce. that however is NOT a bounce

  • Yeah, he floated it in and bounced it a bit, still I doubt if they exceeded or even approached normal tollerances. Not a landing I'd brag about but not that bad either

  • I used to love watching this massive plane come in for landing right over my house cos it was at the end of the runway pretty much, the house had cracks running along the walls bcos the planes used to shake it, it was awesome, i could throw a rock n hit the underbelly of the plane lol, i miss that place so much.

  • It's called a normal landing, one in which, where the hydraulic suspension system took care of nicely.

  • Lol that was some bounce there, to those that write there`s no bouncing, lol. Look at the first tire smoke trail on 0:58 and then at 1:07. It bounced all right.

  • ya i seen the bounce it was there if we had paid attention all the way through the video open the eyes

  • It does bounce the ground just makes it look deceiving when it puts the box around the wheels for a second time

  • hahah i see a m1009 cucv chivy blaxer in the video

  • Perfect landing . Idiot behind video camera

  • Useless and therefore stupid title....:s

  • oh ok i see it if you look closely at the landing gear when it first touches it bounces and goes back up i say about 5 or 10 feet then the pilots brings its down again and it finally lands but this is common most likely he had a high speed and or heavy cargo this is common among cargo aircraft

  • ummm did i miss the bounce?

  • That was a friggin textbook landing. Weren`t notta wrong with that.

  • he just had abit of speed on him thats all...

  • Yeah.. he was bouncin ALL over the place! Glad he made it out alive........... moron.

  • is the sergeant up there stupid... you didn't see the aircraft bounce after the first touch down, gain maybe 2 feet and touch down again. are you retarded.

  • I enjoy watching these behemoths take off at Travis AFB; it never gets old. The C5 looks so slow when it takes off but that's due to it's huge size.

  • It looked like it was barely moving on landing, but it looked like a mini hop. White Planes can't jump...but it will always make more money than its black counterparts

  • Looked like a perfectly normal landing to be. I do not observe any bouncing and their is not a thing unusual during the landing of this aircraft. To the person who titled this video, DROP AND GIVE ME 50 PUSH-UPS!!!! AND, Latrine duty is your assignment for the next 6 months!! DISMISSED!!!!!!!!

  • @SargentBlah sarge look at :59 and 1:07. :59 is initial touch, from 1:00 to 1:07 he's actually bounced back into the air and at 1:07 he has 2nd touch. it took me a couple times to see it cause it was so low.

  • @SargentBlah ..... it bounces at 0:59 and 1:06

  • @SargentBlah lol drop down and suck jesus dick

  • @SargentBlah Nah, watch the video in full screen it's easier to see, the plane is definitely airborne after the first touchdown, and you can see tiresmoke twice in the video.

  • @SargentBlah Nope. It did bounce a little.

  • @SargentBlah He shows when it hits the ground the first time, and then when it hits thr ground for the second time. I didn't see it at first, but I think it's because those wings are producing so much lift it looks like it has to be on the ground, but if you look close, the wheels aren't touching even though the engines seems to be slowing down.

  • @SargentBlah it does bounce idiot

  • @okyb0y simply shocks recoiling no bounce sorry

  • @SargentBlah right on.

  • just had some ground effect no big deal

  • it was a hop not a bounce lmao

  • Comment removed

  • Didn't look like a bounce to me........

  • @Factnotfictionpeople the camera man has a point look how long does it take until nose gears are touched down, so there must be a small bounce there which is not recognizable due to the poor quality.

  • love the 90's...grew up watching B-52's coming into KIAB for mods for Boeing Wichita. Love to have the jobs back local working on the new 767 Tanker. The pilots and boomers want a new airframe. Let's make it happen...

  • this is not a bounce. this is simply getting airborne again as a result of having too much airspeed. pull back for a flare or keep too much backpressure after the mains touch as he just did, and it'll rise just like you see here.

his landing was actually quite smooth.

  • How did you know it was carrying CH-47C's?
