@ayang005 Some things that could help/ prevent it from shriveling:

1. Weight down the corners of your paper while painting

2. (If 1 doesnt work) Wait until the painting dries and then lay it in a large/heavy book

3. (If you dont have a large/heavy book) Spray it VERY VERY VERY VERY lightly with cool water and then press under something.

These should help. Sorry if they dont work :3

I actually do the colouring first aswell cuz I find when your using water colours and ink it first, the ink smudges into the paint and turns the colour darker than what you want it to be :/

Actually, I've been doing it that way too in mine, but some pages in greyscale, and others in color, and I use color inks (it does take forever, tho, but the results look awesome ^_~ ) It sounds painstaking, but I have no acces to screen tone, and I think it takes twice as long to do them in Photoshop... ^^; so,...yeah..

@llam89 There's actually a very simple way of avoiding it, I find. If I find I'm struggling to remember what I was saying that 'uh' or 'uhm' is replaced with a pause.

...Works surprisingly well in sounding consistent. However, I do agree that it's perfectly natural to make these sorts of sounds.

he probably uses standar smooth bristol. When choosing paper for finish work make sure it's smooth and can hold wet mediums such as inks, acyllics or watercolors

Theres a thick special kind of paper specifically for watercolor. An art supply store should carry it.
