  • Over Memorial Day weekend of 2005 I went to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, better known as The Wall, for the first time. I had planned this trip months in advance. I wanted to leave something at The Wall to remember and honor all the men and women named there who gave their all for all of us.

I left a laminated copy of this hymn in front of all 140 panels that compose The Wall. Thank you so much for your beautiful rendition of this. I pray it brings comfort and peace to many. Semper Fi.

  • Amazing!!!The most beautiful song about death!

  • sooooo bad compared to the version by conor o brien

  • Gran xx

  • A totally deceiving song, of course Jesus Christ died, history accounts for it and it is documented in numerous independent ancient sources.

As for whether He is no longer dead that's a different matter altogether, but He died and that's a true historical fact which cannot be denied.

At first I didn't think this song was about Jesus Christ but about love, until the last two photo shots erroneously points toward Jesus Christ.

I could be wrong maybe this song not about Jesus Christ after all.

  • I love the message in this song. It is so uplifting and positive. However, I do not love the message that says "none shall come unto the father but by me". I have no use for exclusive "my way or the highway (to hell)" religions.

  • I love this poem, song and video.. but I really don't think it's such a christian idea which is described in this lyrics - because the idea of becoming part of all these things seems to fit much better to nature based, maybe pagan or pantheistic religions, not to christianity, which believe is that the soul goes to god in heaven.

  • WOW!! amazing!! such beautiful song and her voice really fits the song well

  • It is a lovely song. I have in my CD collection

  • This is truly beautiful! A friend gave me this poem when my son was taken from us! Her voice is absolutely gorgeous and you can understand the words! md

  • Divine.

  • Wow... a wonderful song... really... Katherine is wonderful

  • this song played at my grandma's funeral. it was really beuatiful

  • Neil Crossland - Such a positive poem

  • Sigh seeing religious views everywhere in youtube... I don't believe in jesus and I won't want the place he prepared for us- because i know he isn't there. If he's real, well pray for him to enlighten us logical non-believer to 'help us'

  • I will always be praying for you, and so called "logical non believers," but it's more of a question of faith than of logic, but peace be with you, regardless :)

  • @in1pieces I refer to my comment above, even if you dont "beleive" watch Mel Gibsons "the passion of the Christ, it is NOT religious but you might get something from it. I am not religious but you have to stop and think if a guy would volunteer to be crucified he must have had something important to say, the problem is that religious people have distorted the message.

  • @tegid699 Hahaha I'm not one sided(unlike most Christians). I'd watched it. You see, they can even create something so real like the passion of Christ. Go search Indonesian crucified. There are MANY people who volunteered to be crucified without even having anything to say. I mean, if God can be created by no one, why can't you all see the view that human MAY be created by no one also? Human created 'God', that is the most logical statement to say. Ask me why

  • love it

  • this is a very beautiful song! but i had sang the other version; not sure who it was written by sadly. but its very beautiful =)

  • My nana( great grandmother ) was 97 years old and just passed away. This song made me cry

  • Absolutely amazing.

  • Hi everyone. Thank you to everyone for your wonderful comments. I've had a lot of requests for this song. It is sung by Welsh superstar Katherine Jenkins - the song can be found on her 2005 album Living A Dream.

  • wow

  • this reminds me of my bestfriends aunt-she was murdered. the son of her aunt (my bestfriends cousin) is who i am madly in love with.

  • Is it written by Wilbur Skeels?

  • @milazzosteenoven I believe this comes from the Poem by Mary E Frye..one of the most beautiful pieces written for a memorial

  • I watch and listen and I remember my Uncle Ray.

  • That is absolutely beautiful! I dont understand y folk dont like her singing! words cannot express how touching this song is. it is not too complex but that is part of what makes it so beautiful! R.I.P great nana

  • Does anyone know who wrote this arrangement? I'd love to find the accompaniment for it.

  • Beauty, Pain, Hope, Peace, Faith - I could go on and on - wonderful - thank You!

  • Thank you for this video. I got goose pimples and the music and pictures and the words touched my heart.

  • Mein "kleiner"Bruder Leffo ich vermisse dich so..... sehr.......I miss you sooo..... much" little" brother Leffo.......

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great video. Even without pic Katherine Jenkins is great !

  • I think that this is a Wilfred Owen poem. Written in 1918 from the front line in France..

  • The poem was written by Mary Elizabeth Frye (1905-2004). Although it does sound like many Wilfred Owen's poems.

If many of you don't know Wilfred Owen's work, then look up "Anthem For Doomed Youth."

  • I have a CD but the video is beautiful.

And the subtitles help me understand the lyrics since I'm an English learner.

    Thank you!

My father has become a thousand winds two years ago....

    Hal from Tokyo

  • Wow. It's so beautiful.

  • where can i get this????? my grandmother has just passed away it was her favourite poem and i would love it for walking out of the church following her funeral.

  • The tune is "Do not stand at my grave and cry" sung by Katherine Jenkins. It is definitely on one of her album's called "Living a Dream".

    Hope that is useful.

  • I'm really looking for a SATB version of this, I performed one for my best friend's father's funeral and the 4 part version gives me incredible chills.

  • Do you happen to know who wrote this version of the song? I've been looking for a recording of it.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong but was it the Christ who said "do not stand at my grave and weep"? That's so beautiful.

  • Your wrong, stand corrected. By the way, Santa wrote, " You'd better watch out."

  • yeah, hear hear, if you say so. You know, I really don't care.

  • So beautiful and touching! Thank you for sharing your video. 5***** and added in my favourites!
