This version is the best there will ever be. the 1999 version doesn't even come close, and i hate that there will be kids out there that will think that that is the real annie, while she doesn't even have curly hair, this will ALWAYS be the REAL annie! it all fist, the actors are much better, as are the songs and the acting in general. this movie is just much better, I will always love it!:)

This version is by far the best. The girls actually look like orphans, whereas in the remake they just looked like ordinary girls wearing several layers of clothing. Also, the 1999 Annie tries too hard. She acts like she's trying to portray Shirley Temple and it just doesn't work.

When Aileen says "I love you, Daddy Warbucks," it always brings a tear to my eye :)

I'm 43 years old, got the dvd & everytime the ending starts I cry, I love how at 3:35 they show the new family & Sandy barks, that part just chokes me up lol.

I also love how they did her name in fireworks, as a paintshop user I have tried to find a bling alpha like that =). This whole movie is perfect, nobody can be Annie in my book except Quinn.

Watched this yesterday. . .1st time in 20 years with a lump in my throat. To hell with the critcs. Every performance in this is absolutely spot on. Aileen Quinn (who unbelievably won the Razzie that year for this performance), impish and adorable, Carol Burnett is genius!!! Just about every song gave me a tear! I'm now 31, I used to watch this daily with my sis. We'll never know that innocence ever again. Wish we coulda been 5 forever Jen!!! :( Love you

I tried to watch the 1999 version of this scene. Not even close! Im sorry but the1982 was the best ever. The one who played Warbucks was not convincing as Albert Finney. The blending of Aileen and Albert voice in this scene is perfect. This version is perfect!

Continue....Punjab and the rest of the supporting characters are brilliant. But most of all John Huston did a great job for choosing Aileen as Annie. She's got the persona and she embodies the spunky, loveable, smart, cute little kid that will definitely capture Warbucks heart. No one else got the charm as far as I'm concern. Aileen will always be the best Annie ever in my opinion! No disrespect to other Annies!

Continue.....Carol as Miss Hannigan was amazing as a likeable hilarious villain. Albert is perfect for his role as daunting businessman who has a big heart. Ann is so attractive, talented and so charming. Ann and Albert got such an amazing chemistry eventhough it wasn't elaborated on the film. The orphans are so talented.
