It's unfortunate that these accidents happen in this kind of dangerous weather. Sadly, some drivers choose to tempt fate in their thinking that nothing's going to happen under these conditions. Their destination isn't going anywhere, and it simply isn't worth it their lives and the lives of others.

I ended up at the back of this pile up but was one of the cars that ***slowed down*** so I wasn't in the actual pile up of cars. The idiots that flew by me going 50 mph got CRUNCHED though!!! Yeah, SLOW THE EFF DOWN when you see snow collecting on the road and this won't happen!!!!!! Its how the cars at the back avoided it without so much as a dent :)

Most of you idiots don't realize that this was an instant white out. Came without warning. There were two 40-car pile ups a 25-car pile up and a 14-car piile up all at the same time.

The report I just heard about this said that there was a sudden snow squall that brought clear conditions to complete white-out in a matter of seconds. These people had no warning, or chance to slow down. People driving on surface streets had no problem. It was the highway speeds combined with white-out that did it.

Dumbass's. You see it all the time in Heavy snow, Icing condtions, Fog people driving like it was the middle of the day on a Sunday in June.

I have seen experiments where they have shown people actually speed up in low visbility condtions as they can't gauge their speeds. Most people over rely on their anti lock brakes, traction contrall, automatic transmissions. They basicaly drive like they are sitting on their couch at home talking on their cellphones. Sheeesh.

...well you are right about the bridge. I am talking about snow. Seeing more and more drivers either going way to fast or drivers going way to slow. All playing with there ipods,eating, and whatever. But with that bridge we can all tell there was speed and they where all bunch up on Sunday. I bet both lanes there was someone driving way to slow. Plus the bridge look straight it was curve (like the bridge in my town). Either way it sucks to driving in rush hour in the winter. lol

I mean most of the streets are way under rated for speed if people paid attention. I live near a corner that is an intersection of two streets perpindicular, straight for MILES in every direction. I see cars upside down, in peoples front yards, one car on top of another. Bone dry streets, daylight conditions, 4way stop. I shit you not. How do you screw that up?

There was a time in this country when drivers understood driving in bad weather.
