This gun is so much better than the MP 5. It is perfect for house to house encounters. It has a Picatinny rail which the early MP 5 didn't. Also it is much lighter and doesn't use that weird charging handle.
I wanted to type in TMP to see it in live fire, But im forced to type MP9 cuz of all the CoD tards.... Why Cant I just see the ACTUAL Gun in action? Not a damn game.
This gun is a really fun one to shoot. semi-auto however, we are in canada. haha. if anyone is looking on buying one and your in the okanogan region, try BearCreekSports. ca or the store bearcreeksports in kelowna BC
Civilian version of Brugger & Thomet MP9 is the Brugger & Thomet TP9!
Yes, B&T MP9 is improved version of Steyr TMP DESIGN with side-folding buttstock and picatinny rail for the red-dot scope!
B&T TP9 have the trademark vertical grip removed to market it as semi-auto pistol! However, it still have the picatinny rail on bottom to attach flashlight and laser pointer!
I have read some utter stupid comments and remarks from various dumbass kids on this thread. Read up on Brugger & Thomet. These guns are not toys you stupid fucks. They might look like toys to you and it might seem like fun and games, but that is because you are dumb fucks who have no idea as to what you are talking about. The TP9 for example is a cutting-edge weapon used by SpecOPs and trained assassins.
It's funny that you would discount the Brugger and Thomet official Web site by your own statement indicating that the TP9 is "NOT" used by specops when the company, Brugger and Thomet CLEARLY, says that it is. LMAO! The irony here is inane. You, Sir, seem to have more knowledge about the TP9 than the gun makers themselves. ever heard of self promoting? One company said how his weapons were being used by mall cops that dealt with the russian mafia, rebels from other contries, snipers, and many other things on a daily basis.
lol the TP9 is not a weapon used by assassins or specops, if anything they would use the select fire MP9. Cutting edge weapon? Its mean't for personal defense.
@mosestheleader25 In the USA anything full auto made after 1986 is highly restricted, and even if it was semi auto only the stock and grip would classify it as a short barreled rifle, which itself is also restricted. So in other words you arent getting one unless you have hook ups with the government : (
it is if you buy a semi-auto mp9...but if you buy a tp9(the pistol model) then it's not. I don't know anything about the MSRP but in Switzerland you can buy a semi-auto for 1800Sfr. ~1400 USD
Ya I wouldn't be buying the pistol version. I live in Canada so I don't have to worry about Americas short barreled rifle laws. Thanks. By the way how hard is it to immigrate to Switzerland? haha
No, I am talking about the Glock 18, which is the fully automatic variant. It really exists. And i know about the licensing issues, it was kind of you to tell me :)
Well the gun on MW2 is a post factory conversion of a Glock 17 to full auto. If it was a Factory job with the selector switch on the side of the slide, it would be a Glock 18. Some europeans are able to freely own automatics like Glock 18s.
Yes, I actually knew that lol. I just didn't fell like typing it haha. Also, Glock 18's aren't offered in the Olive Drab color scheme from MW2. But Glock 17's are offered in Olive Drab. Further proving the Glock in MW2 is actually a G17, not G18
Also of note is the M9 in the game is actually a 92SB. Easily to tell with the curved trigger guard instead of the flat/serrated one on the M9/92F/92FS
It's 5 rounds because it has a stock so it is classified as a rifle.....
of course, unless you happens to got some Steyr SPP mags laying around........ or someone eventually bring-in the US version of the TP-9 pistols along with their 10 round mags......
*sigh*, how hard is it to understand Canadian gun laws? It can hold TEN shots, same as the AR15. ANYTHING that is classified as restricted can hold a maximum of 10 shots. Does it look like it's barrel is longer than 18.5 inches? Does it look like its over 26 inches when the stock is folded? No, so its restricted and thus can hold 10 rounds. And another thing, people in Richmond suck ass at driving haha.
Enlighten me if you EVER seen TP9 mags that have 10 round capacity...... like I said, the TP9s that we got ARE NOT pistols......it is a shoulder-fired, centre-fire, semi-auto firearm thus it has 5 round capacity.

About the proficiency of the Richmond drivers..... are you speaking of your personal experience?
What's the difference between M16 and AR15? AR15 is the civilian model of M16!
B&T MP9 is just an improvement of Steyr TMP with stock and rails on it, but it's still same family of firearm! It's not like they redesign the entire firearm from the scratch!
If B&T engineering is good, they would reduce the RATE of FIRE on the MP9! Noticed how hard he is trying to hold the firearm steady until he pop out the stock!!
um...that's why they have the semi-auto selection on it. FUll auto isn't supposed to be steady, it's supposed to put alot of rounds down range in a short period of time, not for accuracy.
the AR-15 was made earlier. the M-16 is the military dasignation for a later version that was improved and made better for use in vietnam. and no, if B&T engineering was any good, they would increase the distance from the chamber to the muzzle by making it a bullpup design like the MP7, or making the felt recoil less by integrating a vertical line of travel for the bolt after extracting the spent casing, which would counteract some of the muzzle climb. but don't ask me, they're the experts...
No. It was originally made by Steyr I believe and called the TMP, then B+T bought it from them or something and called it the MP9. Or maybe it was the other way around. But no H&K doesn't make it. Weird though I know, MP5>MP7>shouldn't MP9 be made by HK too? :P
Well there`s the new stock that folds to the right side and an integrated Picatinny rail. Other minor modifications were made such as a 'safety trigger' similar in design to a Glock pistol.
It seems the barrel is 5.12" 6 groove, right hand twist, which would not improve torque ( since the barrel rotates clockwise) Now if they had made the barrel unlock counter- clockwise...it would counter torque! but might affect bullet spin :(
I think this might have a rotating bolt, & I've busted rollers in MP5's from using +p+ NATO ammo w/ the wrong locking pc. etc. I just stay away from any SMG with delayed blowback/rotating bolt, roller locks, etc.
I wonder why the barrel rotates, since the operation is straight blowback rather than delayed blowback. Perhaps the barrel rotates to counter the axial force vector/torque for better control. The Micro UZI uses ported muzzle cuts to create an angular check against clockwise torque, but a counter rotation to check torque would be better...although more prone to damage/wear.
I read a shooting report a few years back that said the rotating barrel creates a forward impulse when firing on full auto that help keep this gun very controllable. Apparently the SAS recently adopted it which is a pretty glowing endorsement in my book.
there is not much difference between these two weapons .. originally it was designed in austria .. by steyr .. but export problems (strange austrian laws) made them sell the whole thing to Brügger+Thomet.
Very handy gun and easy to to operate. I would say that it was love at firt sight. The maintenance costs are relatively low. The gun has never disapointed myself. That's everything you need for personal defence.
Genau gesagt schiesse mit der Zivielversion, also der TP9. Preis sFr. 1900, im CH Fachhandel erworben, hoffentlich bleibt die Gun weiterhin so preiswert.
the MP7 and the MP9 look similar. the MP7 is a bit larger? from playing the game Rainbow 6 Vegas, i can see. the game has very accurate renditions of the weapons, for the haters out there whom might say something...
That's bull, they had minor issues that were ironed out anyway. The XM8 (which is just a G36) was a very fine firearm, the only reason it was canceled was because the US military weren't prepared to ditch their M4/M16s and spend the money either. The XM8 scored highest on the 'dust test' last year, and it is not completely canceled; HK still has it out the back for later, I actually held one last year.
the mp7 shoots 5.56 rounds and doesnt this use 9mm? and the mp7 with its ammunition it would seem that it had came out before the mp9. and 7 comes before 9

KarlNemetski,
This is INTERNET (CYBERSPACE) and access by millions daily around the world!!
Video Game FIREARMS are way more popular than REAL FIREARMS on the General Public!!
The reason that Video Game FIREARMS can not always accurately model the REAL FIREARMS is because they will GET SUED by FIREARMS MAKERS!
This is why Video Game MAKERS would model those REAL FIREARMS as incorrectly as possible, which created the General IGNORANCE on REAL FIREARMS! =/

IMO all SMGs/rifles should have a safety as the trigger is not usually covered by a holster. Still a cool little SMG regardless though.

Seems like a perfect weapon for body guards, high-rate of fire, fairly accurate, and concealable.

MP9- unarmored targets
MP7- armored targets.
They have different roles.

aint that a Steyr TMP?
drobei 4 years ago
TMP? Nah', that's a MP9. It sure looks like one, doesn't it?
JaredinTX92 4 years ago
yeah..it is a newer version of the tmp. Steyr sold all the licenses to Brugger+Thomet and they redesigned it!
seriousGeex 4 years ago
there is not much difference between these two weapons .. originally it was designed in austria .. by steyr .. but export problems (strange austrian laws) made them sell the whole thing to Brügger+Thomet.

na, but quite similar

Very handy gun and easy to to operate. I would say that it was love at firt sight. The maintenance costs are relatively low. The gun has never disapointed myself. That's everything you need for personal defence.

vo wo hesch de du dini Mp9? Joray?
seriousGeex 4 years ago
Genau gesagt schiesse mit der Zivielversion, also der TP9. Preis sFr. 1900, im CH Fachhandel erworben, hoffentlich bleibt die Gun weiterhin so preiswert.

I want one mp9!
irthrish 4 years ago
I like the MP9 - almost everyone knows what it is - If I say "MP9" they'll think "Brugger and Thomet - the new TMP gun".
SPeacock 4 years ago
That happened to me the other day! I love the MP9. have you seen the new video on the BATF? Called "The Gang"
its pretty interesting thegangmovie dot com check it out
youwho2212 4 years ago
originally the name of this gun was Steyr TMP
(Austrian)Steyr sold all patents to (Swiss)Brügger+Thomet
they called it MP9
it is not related in any way to the german heckler and koch sub machine gun family.
owenbreon 4 years ago
the MP7 and the MP9 look similar. the MP7 is a bit larger? from playing the game Rainbow 6 Vegas, i can see. the game has very accurate renditions of the weapons, for the haters out there whom might say something...
creationode 4 years ago
thats a mp7
motokyoto 4 years ago
idiot,
mp7 is made by keckler&KOCH AND LOOKS NOTHING LIKE THIS
ohuyfdtestrsfjhg 4 years ago 2
You're retarded. That's a Brugger+Thornet MP9.
SeiferAlmasy911 4 years ago
Quite nice on Rainbow six vegas too. Looks nice but I prefer something a bit bigger. xm8 maybe...
georgebradley92 4 years ago
XM8 doesn' texist the project was canceled.
GrottyWanker69 4 years ago
why?
georgebradley92 4 years ago
The handguards kept melting and problems with the barrels and jamming.
GrottyWanker69 4 years ago
hanguards kept melting...could be a bit of a problem then! thanks for the info-thats my new knowledge for the day.
georgebradley92 4 years ago
Anytime.
GrottyWanker69 4 years ago
That's bull, they had minor issues that were ironed out anyway. The XM8 (which is just a G36) was a very fine firearm, the only reason it was canceled was because the US military weren't prepared to ditch their M4/M16s and spend the money either. The XM8 scored highest on the 'dust test' last year, and it is not completely canceled; HK still has it out the back for later, I actually held one last year.

well, I also think that the mp9 is very good submachine gun, it also exists in 4.6x30mm!!! but it is not available yet.....
seriousGeex 4 years ago
Mad accurate Sub.
JayRitzy 4 years ago
you should have just emptied one whole clip on automatic instead of bursts
GrandMasterUz 5 years ago
same idea as the H&k MP7 only in 9mm instead of 4.6 X 30mm. Interesting.
porschenut911 5 years ago
If I remember correctly the MP7 came out AFTER the MP9 so if that's true it couldn't have been based on / inspired by the MP7.
SeiferAlmasy911 4 years ago
the mp7 shoots 5.56 rounds and doesnt this use 9mm? and the mp7 with its ammunition it would seem that it had came out before the mp9. and 7 comes before 9
wussupmonkey 4 years ago
The MP7 shoots 4.6mm or something like that, not 5.56mm, and yes, the MP9 is 9mm.
Seven comes before nine, yes, but they're made by two different companies so that doesn't matter.
SeiferAlmasy911 4 years ago
That would be impossible to do.
As this MP9 does not fire from a clip.
GroveCDN 4 years ago
yes it does cock sucka
tlott00 4 years ago
Clip-use to load bullets into magazine
Magazine-Loads bullets into gun.
nightfire6 4 years ago
You're a retard. Make sure you know what the fuck you're talking about before you open your mouth. Clips and magazines are NOT the same thing.
SeiferAlmasy911 4 years ago
nice little machine pistol
york124 5 years ago
Technically it's a sub machinegun, not a machine pistol.
SeiferAlmasy911 4 years ago
it is a smg but mp stands for machine pistol. im not sure that the initials mp should stand for that with the mp5
wussupmonkey 4 years ago
MP stands for Machinen Pistole, German for machine gun.
SeiferAlmasy911 4 years ago
MP stands for Maschinenpistole, directly translated machine pistol. The english word for MP is submachinegun.
vasquez2001 4 years ago
no maschinen pistole is Submachine gun and not machine gun
