@VoidRou in Transnistria never lived 1 million of people (all the more so ethnic romanians). My grandmother is from Transnistria and i know what i say. There was collectivization, nationalisation of property, even deportations, but not in such huge scale as you describe. In Transnistria moldovans make 1/3 of entire population.

I am from Chisinau and I am not agree with what she said totally, in Chisinau 20 % of population speak russian as mother language, from this 20 %, 65 % understood romanian but rarelly speak in it. In rest, 80 % of population of Chisinau had romanian as mother language but 40 % from this know very well russian.

The point was that we are part of the same larger ethnic group - call it vlach if you don't like the name "romanian". Culturally you are also different from the moldavians in Western Moldavia, who all consider themselves romanian, but if you want to consider yourself a different ethnic group from them, you should use another name, not "moldavian".

Between Russia and Moldova-Romania there is this little country called Ukraine. The ethnic minorities in these Romanian countries are just that: minorities. And they took over the land by deporting to and killing people in Siberia for 300 years of Russian occupations. Romanians were there (Dacia) before the Russians were created as a people.
