I've seen a few accidents in these cars. and actually they come out better than any other vehicle. I work in a gas station and see accidents all the time. There was one where a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe was struck on the front passenger side by a Honda CR-V. The CR-V ran a red light. The Santa Fe's systems did what they were supposed to do. The lady walked away. The driver and passengers of the CR-V were all taken to the hospital.

Yes it has a 5 star side impact rating,but you americans dont conduct a POLE test and there it fails. Pole test is a side impact into a .... you guessed it a POLE. I have a SF and can drive knowing that i`ll be protected if hit by somebody. so thing again...

The Hyundai car range looks reasonable, but fuck are they unreliable - and they have these manufacturing problems.  After 10 years of running a fleet of Ford Falcons (Australian cars) our fleet manager switched to Sonata Euro spec. Our breakdown rate jumped from 1 in 100 days operating to 60 in 100 days operating. Also - of the two that were crashed (one into a stobie pole) both did not deploy airbags 'cause the electronics failed... Fucking fantastic cars!

Also - what in the fuck was he driving that fast anyhow? In Australia you'd be in JAIL for 12 months, have a $2000 fine and loose your license for 5 years. The car you did that speed in would be impounded and sold, with the proceeds going to the victims of crime.

In Germany (I've lived there) the A-barns are NOT unlimited speed roads. Speeding is still a possibility and have the speeding fines to prove it. In a EB-II GT Falcon coming back from the ring.

How can u say they havent fixed it??...DO U WORK FOR HYUNDAI OR WHAT??, They got a driver seat problem with the 2005 Elantra and they fixed it. FYI, Volvo had the same problem with the 2004 S80, not the side airbag, THE STEERING WHEEL AIRBAG! and they had to fix it. Something you have to consider is that serial production may have this problems ON ANY CAR MAKER. Hyundai is very commited with the quality and safety, for sure they already fixed that issue.
