Meh, Star Trek can be pretty lazy in showing alien races as culturally homogeneous and all aliens displaying similar personality traits, e.g. all Klingons are violent, all Vulcans follow logic. Humans have an enormous plurality of cultures and social norms, so why should an alien race just have one?

Your two examples are poor. Klingons as an entire race are a warrior race, and devote themselves to battle. Vulcans almost destroyed themselves with emotions, so dedicated themselves to eliminating them.

As someone else pointed out, there are exceptions. But the two races you picked have cultures based on what you observe.

There are TONS of episodes in all the series which show differing personalities and traits between the same members of a race.

Erm, missed my point. Klingons are a warrior race, Vulcans are a logical race, Ferengi are a greedy race, etc. So every has species is defined by one or two things. Of course there are in-universe reasons for this, but that doesn't make it any more plausible. Humans are plural and multifaceted - no one culture defines us, so why should one define another species. And there are contrary examples, but that's for entertainment, like, "ooh peaceful Klingons, how weird".

@Lazyguy22 The game does make sense. The purpose of Stratagema is to change the 3 panels that you see rotating to your own color, with Kolrami being Green, and Data being Blue :)

Data was able to "beat" Kolrami at the end by constantly blocking Kolrami's moves, hence the game would remain as a stalemate indefinatley until Kolrami forfeited out of frustration :D

It wasn't really until after he died, and in later TNG and especially Deep Space 9 where things got more complicated and there were more shades of gray within new species (especially the cardassians, and to some extent the ferengi, Duet I think is the best example, or any episode with Garak).
