That boulder has no real purpose, it doesn't really make any difference if you move it or not.

so what was the point of dropping that block?

You use the block to reach a leve which opens the gate that guards an artifact.

lol i always forget how to jump off wall when wall-running. I always jump along it instead of off it xD

I was so glad to finally get out of Egypt - this level was particularly dull and that right hand gate didn't give you much time!
