With the RLC the focus is more on the negative; the GHD makes GHR's easier than the RLC. For example, I can't do one concentric RLC without assistance (but I can lower myself eccentrically very slowly), but I can do 20 GHR's. It's not bad for your knees if you have ample padding beneath you, as shown in the vid.
This is what has wrecked my right knee, dispite perfect form. The thing with this is the quad starts to push into the knee cap when you descend, and the knee cap is "locked" and can't go anywhere so the ligaments and all that start to stretch.
