@onn1320 I'm not sure they sound EXACTLY the same, but what you have to remember is that both Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince and Cash Money and Marvelous are all from Philly. At this time Jazzy Jeff and Cash Money probably were 2 of the top 5 best scratch mix DJ's in the world. Also, this is a comedy rap which Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince did a lot of too, so it's not so strange to think they have similar styles. It comes from the one of the best eras of hip hop imo.
O......kay. I know all that. - I'm just saying they sound similar - Yeah, yeah...I used the word "Exactly" - but that's besides the point - They sound alike regardless the reason why.
i think andrew e never claimed that he patterned his song after this one but who cares? this wasn't the only song he's got and apparently, he ugly. the song fits him perfectly. guys in p.i loved it so get a move on people.
Ok, who is Andrew E.? And, what does he have to do with Cash Money & Marvelous Marv? Oh and shame on Will Smith for stealing these dudes style and concept. I can back this up if anyone disagrees.....
@madaceent Andrew E. (E for Espiritu) is a Filipino artist who released his first hit single "Humanap ka ng Panget" which means "Find Someone Ugly". I am an American-Filipino, fluent in both languages, and was surprised after listening to this song because many lines, if you interpret it to Tagalog, are similar to the rhymes used in Andrew E's single. I love Andrew's songs though. Very funny (and lascivious) :P
first of all Andrew never claimed that his version was the original .... he did made a lot of money because this was his first hit single making it's album platinum ..the first of his 18 something platinum awards... naiinggit lng ang iba kasi kahit anung pag pirata nila ng kanta..ni airplay ala sila..wahehehehe...

Awesome. Classic hip hop. Plus, excellence advice on love and mating though it can be very difficult to exercise. Much love for Cash Money and Marvelous.

At least Francis M. sampled but did not tagalized existing US or foreign hip-hop tracks.

@mddarch2 .....they are speaking Tagalog (from the Philippines)... they are complaining about a guy named Andrew E who made tons of money by translating western songs adding his style and claiming them as his own.
HAHA. eto pla yung original.. kala ni Andrew mkakalusot sya.. d nya alam pag dting ng mga 2000's magkaka youtube at madidiskubre natin mga pinoy ang tunay n version ng kanyang all time hit single hmanap k ng panget

Check ya reading skills, I said Marvelous Marv put out a song before Fresh Prince. And, yes you might be right about Cash Money being Jeff's protege. But, CM & MV had an record deal first.
and what song would that be? was it before the first 'Girls aint nothin but trouble' indy single that released in 85?
Wheres the party at didn't drop until 88 right?
from what I remember, Jazzy Jeff & Prince were Philly originators in the same league as Schoooly D & MC Breeze.
and yes, do some research, Jeff mentored Cash. Jeff also won the NMS world title in 86 but I remember his mix tapes and reputation from waaaay before that.
Oh crap! Yeah that was it! I was cheesed off when I was a kid 'cause my parents accidentally taped over that chunk of the count down and I couldn't remember what the song was! Thanks eh!
