The USSR crushed Japan in Mongolia and across NE Asia in less than 2 weeks. The reason was that the Soviets had honed their fighting skills against the Nazis for 3 years, and they were financed by the Americans. They had 5 times as many artillery pieces and 3 times as much aircraft as the Japanese. The Japanese had no chance against the Soviets with those odds.

Red army never really learnt to use joint fire tactics. During the battle of Karelian Peninsula 1944 finnish artillery (some 750 guns) were much more efficient than 5 times bigger russian artillery. Finns used superb jointfire tactic they concentraited fire of all available guns and airforces to crucial places for some 2-3 min when russians were about to start offensive and then rapidly took another target. System difficult for many armies even nowadays.

No they didn't. After the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact the soviets thought they could freely invade Finland and occupy it, like they did to Latvia Lithuania and Estonia. So what the soviets wanted was to occupy Finland. Did they accomplish this? Sure both wars ended up in armstice and Finland was forced to make concessions. But the bottom line is that the soviets thought they could occupy Finland and through heavy losses found out that they couldn't. FACT

Yes, they won the war, with armstice and concessions leading to the loss of Karelia and parts of Northern Finland. What I'm simply trying to say is that this outcome was not what they were initially hoping for (they wanted to occupy Finland).But if my memory serves me right the Faroe Islands were occupied(unlike Finland).. so I don't know maybe were full of stupid people, but at least we know how to defend our country.

The A.E.F could have taken Berlin. Montgomery was all for driving forward. However Eisenhower thought that even if they did take Berlin, they would have to give it up and saw no point in wasting lives. I personally would have driven for Berlin, but thats just me personally.

the western allies couldn't take Berlin, think about the casualties the Soviets experienced for every metre of the city...the western allies were even so worried about invading Japan because of the casualties in taking cities ...and the Jap soldiers were shit

And anyway the Japanese soldiers were not 'shit'. The Japanese soldiers were among some of the best soldier in the Second World War. Unfortunatly for them Japan didnt progress in the arms industry during the war as the Allies did. The Soviets also fought diferantly from the Western allies, the germans wer alot more tenacious in ther defense againts the soviets as opposed to the W.A. Resistance facing the W.A was crumbling unlike the soviet side.

Germans were happily surrendering to Western troops as they knew the level of treatment was much higher than that on the soviet side, they also knew the war was over so why fight any longer, however many believed that the W.A and Germany would turn and unite to fight Russia, so wer willing to fight against the communists. The War in the east was not only waged in a differant manner tahn that in the west....but also for differant reasons

Germany lost 4.5 million soldiers killed in eastern front - 85% of all their losses in WW2. Western allies played a smaller part in campaign than they have addmitted.

Stop the bullshit. If this was true, how the hell during 1944 battles (Operation Bagration) the Soviets managed to kill 4:1 more Germans, managed to collapse the entire German Eastern Front and invaded Germany itself? Read history before sounding like an idiot. Don't confuse 1941 with 1944-45.

So, Germany won over Denmark,Poland because of the same reason,Norway, Belgium, Holland France to..if Denmark had the same strength as Germany 1940, they had crushed Germany.

So it must have been a very embarrassing way to win over these countries for Germany
