  • Holy shit just pick up a rake.

  • Echo owns Shindaiwa and they are made in same builing now, Talk is there going to drop one of the two names

  • It's probably not really designed for this, but I have wondered how well the power brooms (brush and paddle) will deal with light building waste. Whenever people are having things taken down, there are always small bits of rock, lumps of wood, old paint flakes, glass and nails lying around and I always end up grabbing a rake and spending ages sweeping them back up.

  • @lexichronicle2 it is used by MANY, MANY roofers, gc's, road crews etc. These are fantastic for general clean up of hard items. check one out and when you get it and fall in love with it, get me a video. (ps you can also get the Shindaiwa Multi Tool and can pull off the broom and use other attachments or the ECHO PAS 280 or PAS 266 and also add a blower attachment making it a great tool for general cleanup.

  • im not specifically familiar with that unit, but it sure looks like it has the same coupler for the attachments.

  • @EchoToolGuy will the Swisher E4-U3000 Shindaiwa 24.5cc E4 work with all echo multitool attachments?

  • my motto is more power is always better. The PAS230 will run the broom, but the more power of the 265 is worth it. The 230 will be lighter, so if size is an issue then it will perform. please remember that the engine designs on the Echo, because of the multi port "power boost tornado" design produces more power per cc than many other manufacturers so the 26cc is more than just a 26cc.

  • Will the echo pas-230 have a enough power to run that properly, or will it lack in power ?should you just go with the PAS 265?

  • This is the most powerfull one. Echo has a machine called the PAS265/266 (new unit) that is a split boom that you can attach either the rubber paddle broom tool or the bristle broom tool. The engine is slightly smaller than the Shindaiwa, but has a same 2 year commercial warranty and a 5 year warranty. You can then add many other types of attachmenst like trimmers, blowers, hedge clippers etc.

    thanks for your interest.

  • Is this the best one out there? I have been interested in one to clean gravel out of the yard after winter. how well do you think it would work for that? Does Echo make one, if so how does it compare?

    thanks

  • Well, Smart on Stihl's part to see a great product, made by someone else and do what is needed to get the best tool for themselves. The fact is, though, that the shindaiwa has a much better warranty and better clean air rating than most of the competitors our there.

Thanks for the post. positive input is always welcome.

  • sounds lika sthil

  • very good points. You are right, the units are not cheap, but the gearbox involved has to be very strong and the paddles need to be flexible yet strong. The Stihl unit is actually made by Shindaiwa as they developed the technology.

    thanks for the feedback.

  • @EchoToolGuy Why don't you mow the lawn? The lawn mover will suck the leaves up.

  • I want to get that attachment for my kombi. But its to expensive. I like the idea because one you dont blow the stuff everywhere you dont want it, unlike a blower. Two you dont rip up the customers grass.
