drove this in my colt turbo yesterday quality road bit harder to overtake than your bike makes it look. wish i had my old integra on there big up the vtec!
Nice post. Was over that way two years ago on my VTEC. Sitting on a seat having a snack, bike behind a bush. Next thing other VFR came down the road. Rider saw me, and somehow felt obliged to show off to another biker, me. Even tho I had the same bike, which he didn`t know. So he revved very hard, and went like a jet fighter right up onto a blind brow, on a thin road, just to show off. Good job no car was coming as that fella would have been killed. Respect bikes and above all respect the V!
I know the camera's mounted lower than your line of sight, but the early part of the video seems to be heaving with dead ground and obscured entrances. Slow down a bit round there, shipmate!
Decisive and quick but too scary for me round the blind corners(I'm getting on a bit)- excellent quality vid- no need to ride around the world - more proof we've got all we need here.
Nice ride. Great scenery and an exciting video! I'm not sure how I'd like riding at speed next to a stone wall, but I guess you get used to anything. At least the wall isn't going to jump out in front of you. Thanks for posting the video. I'm going to order a new VFR today and I sure hope false neutrals aren't going to be a problem although I find false neutrals occasionally on both my ST and my Wing. Kinda sucks...
I have an 02 VFR, and false neutrals are almost nonexistent. Clutched or clutchless, I've only hit a false neutral maybe once or twice. My old VF700 Sabre, that's a WHOLE other story!
Great road, on it most Sundays on my Vtec. I take it a bit more cautiously due to the number of suicidal sheep, deaf/bind cyclists and foreign car drivers confused on which side of the road to drive on.
I get neutral sometimes if I don't give a good boot between 1st & 2nd. Let's be honest though, you can forgive a bike something like that when everything else works so well!
Great Road for trip out on the bike....when i had my VFR Vtec did'nt have that problem with neutral...can cause a few problems...meaning you can't pull out the corners correctly...
Excellent video . For a minute I though I was looking at a road here in Scotland, without the lochs(that i havent been on). But looks like you got some good fun roads in the Lake District. Need to visit sometime. They standard cans? dont sound like it!. Good camera set-up.Thanx for sharing.
im not a grate rider but i do know that was naf road positioning, naf overtaking, naf gear changes, naf braking not alot was wright with that vid but i do hope you have not killed yourself with that riding yet so you can inprove on the falts.
I'm not a Grate rider either, lol, but it looked pretty good to me dude.

A worthy run, dude :)
Shame about the traffic!
I did the same run on my VTR1000 SP-1 a couple of years ago, check it out for comparison, search 'Lakeland Rides Kirkstone Pass'.

Please show the bikes instruments. The camera could have been mounted on the hood of a car and gotten the same effect. Bike sounds fabulous. Thanks.

The mic is positioned on top of the engine, so what your hearing is pure engine sound not exhaust noise. Yes they are standard cans.
There are nice roads in the lakes and the dales, however the lakes can be stupid busy at times.
Not as much variety as some of the great roads you have up there.

Neither is your spelling, grammar or punctuation great (sorry grate).
TBH as it's a wide angle lens it doesn't depict accurately actual road position. It also doesn't have the same viewpoint as me.
If you know Kirkstone at all then you should know that you can't adopt conventional bike positioning as a poor driver cutting a corner will clip you.
Also being a V4 you don't need to brake much as the engine does it for you.

The mic is mounted right on top the of the engine with zero wind noise, it also pics up gear changes as well.
No the bike is not running rich, you are just getting pure engine noise not exhaust noise.
HondaVFR800Man 2 years ago
that engine sounds incredible! is it microphone positioning or is it running super rich?
