Believe it or not I "partied" with this band just before "Fly Like an Eagle" was released at he hotel we were all staying at...Mr Miller really knows how to hold court! Talked about himself & his music for hours, but a very nice guy & nice band guys too.

My dad played drums with Les Paul. On a tuesday at Fat Tuesdays he was giving me guitar advice. I was 16-17 when this was out- great sound- there's another I loved -might be on the same album- It's an instrumental , with jazz/blues tones- had a fog horn in it , I think at the beginning and end---- like at the SF bay...Anyone know the name?

@smeghead1851 Yeahhhh!!!! If you crank it way up at the end, you can hear the Drag Race announcer say: "He's pulling way ahead in the Howards Cams Special" Aaanndd...He takes it! Lefty Muddersbach on the street side (of the track)...This was indeed a real race probably run at the legendary Lions Dragstrip, or perhaps Irwinadale Raceway in SoCal. Lefty did indeed drive the "blown" twin engined Howards Cams Special, but later died in a race crash in the late 1960s.

Love this song. Have the Anthology album and got to meet Steve and get his autograph. Then they had a mini concert with Eddie Money, Steve Miller and the Eagles. Got backstage passes from a roadie with Steve Miller. Got to sit onstage! Yeah, cheesburgers!
