Sounds sick. Glad to here BMW is going back to an 8. Peronnally I hink the current m5 sounds like shit. I'm going to be purchasing the 2011 M5 and make it sound like a modded corvette. There will be nothing sicker.

Been down this road before, I get your idea of not having the mufflers but (No mufflers=car that sounds like a tractor) and the M5 is definitely no tractor. Do some research on what the Germans do for high performance exhaust for the car and start from there to get your own distinguished M5 sound. Make us proud.

hey man i have a 528i with the sport package if i delete the muffler do u think i would get the same sound and wat size pipe u thing i should use a 3inch r wat i love that sound yow
it wont sound the same mate as your 528 is a 6 cylinder, not a V8..totally different engine so it wont sound the same... i had a 520 with deleted silencer and it still sounder sweet..and it was only a 2.2
i think il do the same with my M5.. delete the mufflers and replace them with pipes.. alot cheaper and sounds just as good as some top market systems :)
another up-side to deleting the mufflers is that that stock ones weigh a lot- i think you save something like 30 lbs when you remove them. did you end up removing them?
yea, the guy i bought it from had 'deleted' the mufflers. I've since installed some magnaflow 14816 mufflers on this car and will post some updated audio and video later.
Sounds like a muscle car. Amazing sound by the way.

I'm not sure, the engine and exhaust in your car is completely different.

not really, at around 2000 - 3000 there's a mild 'drone' but it's bearable. When the engine is at 5k - 6k it just sounds awesome.
