I went to see Suzanne Vega live in October 2008 and she started her set with this gem which is one of my favorite songs from her. I also had the chance to meet her after the show and to chat with her for 5-10 minutes. Unforgettable memory!

I like this video. The lyrics are very poignant; especially with Suzanne's delicate vocal. This song goes back to 1985- her first album.

I hope people don't jump on me for this, but IMHO, this is one of the very few lyrical numbers that can be called "New Age" and also "Music Forward."

There other nice and cool lyrics (e.g. Enya), but none that really hit the mark like Suzanne Vega with Marlene.
