But then again it was much harder back then imo solely because of the best generation of footballers who played during that era including an abundance of great defenders. It was all evenly matched across Europe. Today you have Barca, United, Man City & Real who hold the best talent and theres a real lack of CLASS footballers.

What makes you think I'm joking ? Lauren has accomplished so much more than Sagna and was a key part of this amazing Arsenal squad and its defense.
Vermaelen ? How about Campbell ? Arsenal would kill to have a defender like Campbell in his prime who can win something in the air unlike the rubbish defenders they have now.
If Arsenal's defense was anywhere near as solid nowadays as it was back then they would actually do the unthinkable and win something.

@khalid7377 RvP would get in for Reyes. Nasri/Arshavin/Walcott? for pace for Ljunberg, Fabregas is in there at 0:22 and I would say Sagna would get in for Lauren for his consistency.

He would get in for Reyes , but not for Bergkamp.
Ljunberg is not as fast as any of those three but he is still better than all of them.Walcott is overated and is terrible as a winger (like Ljunberg).Arshavin had a great 1/2 season when he first joined but ever since he's been terribly inconsistent.Nasri is better through the centre like he showed last season when Cesc was out injured.
As for Sagna / Lauren.I would personally pick Lauren but many people prefer Sagna who's still good.

@khalid7377 True but Bergkamp retired then. Ljunberg was exciting but I'd defo go for one of the three. Walcott is much more effective, 15 goals + 10 assists + scaring shit out of Barcelona = Amazing.
Arshavin - Look at his stats, he appears to have lost his effectiveness, but he still turns up with assists. We will only see his quality once he leaves.
Nasri is the most overated in the middle since Cygan. Win % with him in squad is 20% lower than without. He's just a good dribbler and ballholder

@666baobao How do Arsenal copy Barca?? if anything Barca "copied" Arsenal.. since Wenger joined in 98 we been playing beautiful passing football, and still do to this day.. jus havent won much in recent times as we play in the most competitive league in the world with the likes of Man utd, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man city with world class squads.. and Everton, Aston Villa, Tottenham with very good squads also.. not like the la liga with only 2 clubs (Real n Barca)
