love this song so much, it was the last song me and a band I was in played a couple years back, it was really difficult, remembering all the lyrics, but it was amazing, one of the best experiences of my life, this song is absolutely masterful.
In the words of Edward Van Trunk, "Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, FUCK YOU!" How could this NOT be in there? Seriously? How could Fergie be in there, and not Guns N Roses?!?!?!?!
songs like this, the not so popular Gn'R songs are the BEST. not welcome to the jungle, not paradise city, not sweet child o mine, (although those are pretty fuckin awesome songs, just not the best.) When people hear Guns N' Roses they automatically think of those songs. cuz nobody has heard any other songs but those. and the only use your illusion song they MIGHT have heard is november rain. god damnit, listen to the other shit! dont just em by those songs. thats why people say GN'r.. theyr ok.
@infinityjet Yeah same, I love the whole song, but it's more depressing until then (the lyrics are for the whole song, but the music is more upbeat from 8:25)
I love mosta the under-rated songs really :L
Double Talkin' Jive and stuff like that, Nightrain and Rocket Queen (they aren't that under-rated, but compared to other Appetite songs they are :L )= )
@infinityjet I've had Don't Damn Me on a lot today :L :P
As much as I love Appetite, UYI I&II were the best albums lyrically, and maybe musically too (Although I like Appetite's style more when I just wanna listen to rock)
Songs like Coma, DDM, Locomotive, The Trilogy of Don't Cry, November Rain and Estranged and more seem more lyrically advanced than any song on AfD (Bar the outro of Rocket Queen - that's my favourite outro ever to any song ever I think :P)
@infinityjet I just love how you see the song change so much from the last bit before the solo, and when it restarts with the "I see you standing..." bit
Lyrically and musically it is amazing, so heartfelt. Either that or Nightrain is my fav AfD song :P
I'm with you all the way the lyrics is AWESOME the guitar parts are AWESOME the solo is AWESOME the epic outro is just an eargasm I can put this song on repeat for a week and still love it.
@jimihendrixtribute Absolutely right man, everyone else says no no Nighttrain!?!?!?!How the fuck can you compare the genius that is Coma with the punk rock sleaze that is Nighttrain...?
@jimihendrixtribute deffo agreed, infact best song ever lol, the last two minutes was actually what convinced me to pick up guitar and vocals a good few years back
Back in 1994 I was in a coma for 24 days. During that time, this song was RINGING in my entire conciousness. I had strange visions of Axl Rose dictating my life, making choices FOR me, while Duff held my hand leading me in the right direction under Axl's instructions. Whenever I decided to think for myself, Axl would get the piston of his gun, aim it at my head and say "shoot the son of a bitch again". It was a traumatic experience, and again highlights the "dark" nature of this song.
Great song! Great performance. This is real rock n roll, not like some of the shit today. I wish people would see that this is real rock, not the Jonas Bros or whoever they are. I mean, there are still good bands, but this was really the last great one in a long time (in my opinion).
Coma is probably one of the best songs in Use Your Illusion I and II. It's a shame they didn't play it that much. They should have played that song on the official DVD in Tokyo...
I think Axl is the ONLY person who could get away with wearing that "outfit" on stage. And he did...it's trademark him. What a cool band...it's a shame we'll probably never see the real GNR again. This "Axl Rose Band" that's around today just doesn't do it for me.
dude why give me a thumbs down slash worte the song why dont you look at it it says he wrote it when he was high and for some reason he'd pass out when tryin to write it coz it was so heavy
then aaxl did his thing with it so he did write the song

yeah slash wrote the guitar parts but not the lyrics.... and you cant look past that because the lyrics are so powerful in this song that was all axl....
