  • I can';t use Triptane in that motor, not enough compression...After porting and proper jetting some engines won't knock at 85 degrees advance under 13:1 on pump gas, some on regular pump gas....like Brodix head SBC's...read up on Fast By Gast Lectron development

  • I was in a pinch last fall and I bought a Katana 600 engine for my 86 GSXR...paid $200...I started it yesterday at 85 degrees total ignition advance above 2350rpm on regular gas and rode it to Shop Rite...11.2:1 compression 85 degrees on straight regular gas..never ever knock, you know...You'll lose your house if you bring twin turbos around here...

  • Essick..the guy proud of his Whetstine's 10 second carbed 351 w engine he put together...my fuel through a carb costs $220 for 8 ounces 2.2.3 Triptane....I haven't had to push for 18:1 @65degress ignition advance on 18mm spark plugs, but let me see if Essick is close in displacement to what I need to do as he does....

  • cruise wit us stevesnovasite

  • come on down

  • If you want a future in racing, go naturally aspirated. I'm friends with Ed Iskendarian, call him while he's still around, tell him why turbos confuse you, and make a name for yourself...carbed. Tom

  • @gxsrtom Great to see Ed still driving hotrods or as he says "gowe "

  • It can be a 4bbl car..I was at Henry Jackson's shop last year and he quickly built up a big block, put it in a rather heavy 68 Camaro with a 4 link, and ran mid six 1320's. It sounded like a 427 vette..no joke. There's a chemical called 2.2.3. triptane you can buy from Sigma Aldrich chemical suppliers..highest anti knock index hydrocarbon fuel known to man...16:1 700/800/1000 cu. in on main street? Henry was low 600 ci. Not the perfect street car, but give it time...2.2.3. triptane-$200@8oz

  • 1 dislike is the guy who got beat

  • No six second turbo small blocks..John Lingenfelter ran a 7.44 with a single plane crank 358ci carbed small block in a truck. There's a blown front engine dragster running in the 5's...when you open the intake sound runs past fresh air coming in..that's your first vacuum..turbos only come close to max naturally aspirated power of the same engine size, they get there easily tuned keeping sound pocketed tight

  • @gxsrtom At first I thought it was a turboed car. However wheres the popping and banging thru stage to pre stage like other turboed cars?

  • @gxsrtom Seriously? Tim esick runs 6.50s with a twin turbo small block. Outlaw 10.5 car. Plenty of small blocks run 6s

  • @gxsrtom Big daddy went 6.90s with a small block and twin 88s on a 315 drag radial.

  • It's coming to the point where the video should come down if it wasn't through a carb..don't listen to these chuckleheads..a turbo only brings a motor close to what a carb and intake valves can do..a blower on the other hand...yo check out 5 second small block chevy all you dradel spinners...

  • @gxsrtom What??? LOL! I'd bet my left testicle that this Nova is a big block twin-turbo v8....that's the best setup if you want to make a street car go extremely fast but remain reliable....a big block running a huge camshaft with a roots blower on 50+ psi and nitromethane is the fastest way to run the 1/4 mile but that's not going to happen on the street. This nova is a street car....

  • That nova sound pissed hahahah

  • JESUS CHRIST! Elephant motor and probably twin turbo. That's the only way to make the 1750 hp needed to get this kind of ET's......WOW!

  • 1 guy is an idiot. Badass Nova.

  • fill em full of enough monkey piss...and they will all go fast.

  • Musta had enough nitrous in there to launch the shuttle..what will it do on off the street pump gas..now...that is the question???

  • @raginroadrunner No nitrous. Its a twin turbo car.You can only run 1 type of power adder in outlaw 10.5.

  • I see why that thing is so low to the ground... IT WANTS TO EFFIN FLY!!! lol

  • I would be lucky if my car does 60 mph in 6 seconds.

  • Kicked his ass!

  • they have real cars in cali.??

  • "Street" Car LOL

    that was crazy!

  • from simi valley?

  • Beautiful car

  • ох нихуя себе улител

  • good vid like the action

  • Those cars are really flying but the tires... If you have ever seen the 10.5 W tires then you have to agree that they are considerably wider than 10.5 inches. To me its a litlle like having a rule that says no engines larger than 350 CID but than letting all the racers run 400 CID motors and then calling it the 350 cube outlaw class.

  • @Doosterify thought the same thing, but what if the rims are wider than 10? that would make the rubber widder

  • @1990BayBoy Well, I'm not an expert on the tire rim subject, but heres what I do know. If one takes a tire, lets say a 10x28 drag slick and puts it on a narrow rim, the side walls will be pulled in somewhat and the tread contact patch will not be as good as possible. Now take the same tire and put it on the recomended rim and the side wall cross section will be wider and the contact patch will be better. As far as putting it on an even wider rim, I don't see how it will make the tire wider.

  • @1990BayBoy Anyhow, I have got up close and examined the 10.5 W drag tires and I can tell you for certain that they are most deffinately wider than a regular 10.5 drag tire. They appear to be at least as large as a 12 or 13 inch slick which brings me to the point of my original comment. Those are not 10.5 inch wide tires regardless of what the numbers on the side says they are.

  • @Doosterify You're 100% correct, and I too, don't understand why they badge the "W" as a 10.5" tire, if it's not. If these Outlaw guys were on a TRUE 10.5, it would be a lot more difficult to hold and put down the massive power these cars are making, especiall the turbo cars.

  • @Doosterify UMMM,.MAYBE YOU WERNT AT A SANCTIONED N.H.R.A.,.OR I.H.R.A.EVENT,.CUZ THEY GOT TECHS,.AND IF YER TIRES ARE OVER 10.5,.YOU DONT RUN FER DA MONEY,..AND AFTER SPENDING UPWORDS OF HALF A MIL,.ON A CAR,.TA RACE IN A 10.5.CLASS,.AND DOLLARS SPENT GETTIN TO DA TRACK,.UMMM,.THERE 10.5 OR THERE NOT LEGAL AND WOULDENT RACE,.WELL,.FER MONEY!,.DATS WHAT SPONSORS LOOK FOR,.FAIRNESS,.AND OUTLAWS ARE,.UMM,.FOLLOWING RULES?,.

  • @Lizard5571 I'm not sure if you are writing like that because you are joking or around, or if you are an actual idiot. If that really is how you write, I would love to know how you have survived this long.

  • @obscene678 EASY JR!!,.I CAN WRITE ANYWAY I WANT,.IF YA DONT LIKE IT,.WELL,.FUCK YOU VERY MUCH,.I WAS JUST MAKEIN A STATEMENT,.IF RACED FER PROBLY LONGER THAN YOU`VE BEEN ALIVE,.AND LEGAL!,.THESE GUYS SPEND TO MUCH MONET TA NOT RACE LEGAL,.IS ALL I WAS TRYIN TA POINT OUT,.SO,.HAVE A NICE FUCKIN DAY!,.OH,.AND,.FER YER INFERMATION,."YA CANT KILL,.WHATS STRONGER THAN DEATH"!,.

  • @Lizard5571 WELL SHOOT FER REAL YOU SON,,,,,,,, I DONE, BE,EN RACING FER A LON., TIME DER YOUNGIN,.! DON,T WORY BOUGHT DA, WAY I RITE FER YOU CANT,KILL WUTS STRONGER DEN DEATH.,!

  • car is absolutely sick!

  • Bet it was a 632ci twin turbo or maybe a 300 shot of nitrous

  • I think the blue one got a little airborn lol

  • 2 words. Holy fuck....

  • Hey Alvin! Hmmm.......6.78 @ 212 ? Through the Mufflers? Obviously an Elephant Motor....maybe a turbo as well

  • @thevmanvj Yeah I guess it was turboed? Hope to be out there again in may!! Going to the Rockabilly/hot rod heritage in Vegas to see some old Funnycars!!

  • @thevmanvj its a 434 ci small block with twin turbos

  • @thevmanvj those cars dont have mufflers.

  • @thevmanvj It is more than obvious that it is turbo.. Look at how it accelerates in the second half..
