I have always found crates to be a bother when introducing dogs. Usually the dog in the crate want to come out and meet the other dog so badly that it ends up barking and jumping up on the cage. Sometimes this will scare the dog that is out of the crate. But your video is nice and positive. I'm guessing some of your timing was off because of you holding the camera.
You're right, this was taken several days after intro'ing the dogs and they did crate fight that first day, which led me to the treat reinforcement. I'm also alone doing this, so this was my only option. Ideally parallel long leashed walks are the best intro. Some dogs are always barrier frustrated and this obviously won't work for them.
my pitty is nice to alot of dogs but there is this female pit that lives down the stree and my pit always growls at her i never seen him do that to any other dog but her how should i go about so that he can interact with her . she deosnt try to fight him but he trys to fight her what i do plz help me out ?
Dogs pick up on each other's energy (and people's too), and the female APBT might send a tense/confrontational signage to yr dog. Growling is usually out of fear/tension/wanting to keep that thing away, so you'll want to bring treats and walk toward the other dog until you notice yr dog getting tense, then step back until he relaxes and mark his good behavior with a YES! or a clicker and give him a treat while relaxed. Repeat each time he seems tense/growls, go back to his safe spot, eventually
... he will focus more on you when approaching this female dog and associate being near her with good treats. It does take a bit of time & practice but slowly building a positive association instead of fear/anxiety is totally worth it. I wouldn't try intro'ing them, some dogs just don't get along. As long as he's friendly with some dogs, he should be happy.
What size is the crate with the pitbull in it?
