check the usb bus. I have a lot of midi message being sent at one time so there could be a bottleneck. if you can isolate the launchpad to its own USB input then it should speed up. it is written to turn on every light individually as they are driven from their own separate faders in MAX/MSP then they flip switches that wait for a very short time and shut the individual lights off. its fairly straightforward.
At about 26 seconds into the recording turned up the monitor level for the eq so that I could show the upper leds light up :P "good eyes".
There is also a preset threshold for each led to come on, I chose for a more active led deflection because its more fun to watch. There were no actual peaks in the song. the top circle LED turns red if it peaks.
