  • Surprise surprise. Auburn defense goes for the big hit every single play. That's probably why they hardly ever actually make a tackle.

  • Big clemson fan and I am one of the few that acually thought Parker was a pretty good QB in 2009 and even the first part of 2010. I do agree that this hit was a big reason we lost that game if not the whole reason. He was not the same after that hit but I do think part of that was his fault. He did not want to get hurt again and risk baseball. But I do not think anything was wrong with this hit. Parker was already down, I don't think McNeil could help what happend.

  • haha kyle blows. same with clemson.

  • I never really liked parker especially after the ACC championship

  • I was just browsing through some videos and saw this title. I didn't remember a controversial play from the Clemson game, so I figured I'd watch.

Nothing dirty about that play. Bang bang type play. Parker chose not to slide. Once Parker began to dive (albeit too late), McNeil slowed down and tried not to hammer him. Unfortunate for Parker. Lucky for McNeil that he didn't paralyze himself. But certainly nothing dirty about the play.

  • @tmbuktu i wouldn't really call it dirty, just a cheap shot, leading with your helmet on a sliding quarterback, although your right he did dive late and a bit awkwardly. Its old news now, but Parker definitely wasn't the same after this hit.

  • @tmbuktu - So you think spearing is OK? You might be surprised to learn that it is illegal and dangerous. It's an obvious spear and it took some effort to get down that low to do it. Parker's knee was on the ground when the barner hit him. You're right, McNeil was lucky he wasn't paralyzed. Now, go buy yourself some new glasses!!

  • @chilidog17 That was not a spear. Watch the replay that starts at :46. McNeil didn't leave his feet. It is not a spear. McNeil was running towards Parker and was in position to make the tackle when Kyle Parker began to attempt a half dive/half slide. McNeil then tries to stop so he doesn't take off Parker's head and in the process ducks into the collision. McNeil was extremely lucky he did not get hurt. Parker wasn't as lucky. Note that no ref, coach, player, announcer said it was dirty.

  • @tmbuktu P.S. Both announcers commented negatively about McNeil hitting Parker with his helmet. Listen to them again. If you don't think that was a spear, I hope you don't officitiate football games.

  • @chilidog17 The announcers merely say that he hit him with his helmet. They do not say it should have been a flag. It was incidental. Parker's dangerous dive put himself in that position. If he slides, then it doesn't happen. But, he dove with his back turned the defender and put himself in a position to get hit in the back. You cannot possibly believe a defender is supposed to expect a qb to dive and turn his back to him and then instantly avoid contact. It's a bang-bang play. Get over it.

  • @tmbuktu, yeah, they say 4 or 5 times that McNeil hit Parker with his helmet, which is why Parker was hurt. In case you can't figure it out, they were not complimenting McNeil for hitting him with his helmet. What the QB did is really immaterial. The important fact is that McNeil led with his helmet. Stop blaming the victim! Next, will you defend Fairley for hitting Aaron Murray just like McNeil hit Parker? Please! If you have no better arguments than that, just give up and stop bothering me.

  • @chilidog17 Comparing this hit to Fairley's clearly illegal hit is laughable. Almost as laughable as you calling Parker the "victim." What Parker did is not immaterial. If Parker dives, slides, or even continues running, this does not happen. Instead you want to blame McNeill for trying to stop from hitting a diving qb. And again, neither announcer even said there should have been a flag. They just recognized that McNeill hit him with the helmet. Completely incidental.

  • @chilidog17 And you clearly don't know what a spear tackle is.

    Spear Tackling

A tackle in football in which a player’s entire body is launched, spear-like against an opponent, resulting in significant axial loading on the cervical spine, as the head is the ‘spear point’ of contact

Let's see, McNeil never leaves the ground. Instead, he tries to stop himself after he sees Parker diving. Sorry, no spear. Try and learn the rules of football before you comment on them. Thanks.

  • @tmbuktu, Your interpretation is wrong. Where in the definition you cite does it say that the player has to leave the ground? McNeil was running full speed head-first as he launched himself into Parker. In fact, the definition favors my argument. Look at 0:49 in the video and you'll see McNeil's neck (cervical spine) bend down in a dangerous way. Obviously the head is the 'spear point' of contact. I don't think even you can deny the fact that his head was the point of contact with Parker.

  • Nevermind. You clearly don't want to look at this objectively. There's no point continuing to discuss this with you. McNeill clearly tries to slow down when Parker starts his dangerous half dive, half slide. Parker's injury that resulted from this play is unfortunate; but it's a direct result of his own inaction and some bad luck, not some malicious hit by a defensive player.

  • @tmbuktu, you're objective?? Ha! Here is something objective for you, the definition of spearing: "Tackling or otherwise contacting an opponent with one's helmet. (This technique is illegal because of the risk of neck injuries to the tackler.)"

Simple question: Did McNeil contact Parker with his helmet? Of course, he did; I just want to see if you can be honest.

  • @chilidog17 Under your definition everyone involved in that play committed spearing because they "contacted an opponent with one's helmet." Give me a break. Learn the definition of incidental contact.

Yes McNeill's helmet hits Parker. No, he did not intentionally lead with his helmet. He's literally on his knees when he makes contact with Parker because he's trying to avoid hitting him. Not a malicious play. Unfortunate that Parker got hurt, but he has no one to balme but himself.

  • @tmbuktu, PS: At least Clemson exacted some revenge on Auburn this year by spanking them 38-24.

  • @tmbuktu, here is an official definition: "c. Spearing is an act by an offensive or defensive player who initiates contact against any opponent with the

top of his helmet." Exactly what happened on this play.

    "You lose, sir! Good day!"

  • @chilidog17 Hard to say who initiated the contact. McNeill is on his knees when Parker turns back into McNeill. Still incidental contact. Still not spearing. Good day sir!

  • NCAA definition of spearing: "No player shall target and initiate contact against an opponent with the crown (top) of his helmet."

  • ..."When in doubt, it is a foul (Rule 9-6)." Page FR-83. NCAA college football rulebook

  • @jeremyscottraines I wouldn't go that far, some things needed to be changed but I agree they have gone to far at times.

  • @jeremyscottraines i aint hating on big hits, just cheap shots.

  • I just don't get if those other videos were supposed to be impressive for being big hits then you should really like this one.

  • @tigerblood1993 man you again, i dont get why u keep commenting on all my videos in the first place, but I'll explain just for you kiddo. Ok, you see how McNeal leads with his helmet first into a sliding Parker? Well Parker missed so many throws from here on out, throws that lost us this game and cost us our season, and many people point to this for an answer. I really dont care anymore, Parker is playing baseball now, and we've moved on so whatever. Satisfied?

  • Have Clemson fans stopped whining about this game yet?

  • @ntense001 Man I posted this a year ago!

  • @ntense001 has south carolina?

  • If your on your hands and knees when you hit with your helmet, i would think its a little late

  • Dirty program. Dirty players.

  • Parker shouldve been wise enough to go down sooner, but the safety totally lead with his helmet, it was both a cheap shot and illegal...the safety is lucky he didnt end up paralyzing himself.

  • Dude, take that hit head on or get trucked by it, it; turning you back to a tackler is going to get you injured. Don't get trucked, You need to protect yourself. My HS coach would have you running steps on on Saturday.

  • He turned his back to the tackler where was he supposed to take the hit when he does that. Pretty good way to get injured there.

  • freaking pussies wanna believe these things are intentional when clearly they just ran into each others head, both trying to avoid head contact. stop whining and maybe you'll actually have a winning season next year.

  • @Bradysrush get off of other teams youtube videos trying to start arguements and maybe you will know what a pussy feels like. fucking no life coot

  • @chinknamedchingpow what the fuck are you talking about. i am an auburn fan and this showed up on my suggestion list. so what makes this Clemson's youtube video? if anyone is trying to start arguments its the person who uploaded this stupid video, who i was addressing. thats what comments are for.

  • @Bradysrush hey i put it up at the time because it changed the game(and kyle parker the rest of the season) and it had a lot of people talking. Read the info for the video, it might seem stupid now but after the game it was a big deal.

  • @lordseal92 i'm just saying that "Controversial" is implying that it was done on purpose. and i think people like to make excuses and reasons to believe the other team cheated when they lose close games. especially opponents of auburn that year. Like it or not Auburn was a way better team that year and if Clemson at full health rematched Auburn at the end of the year they would have gotten killed.

  • @Bradysrush ah but we were a totally different team at the end of the year, tons of injuries, no heart, and no fight, and yall turned into a splendid team, fuck yeah you would have killed us. But on that Saturday, Clemson and Auburn were evenly matched, and I have no problem saying we gave that game away to yall, and definitely should have won. But in no way am I accusing you guys of cheating, I just put this video up because I felt it was a little bit of a cheap shot and was requested to.

  • @lordseal92 ok ok i can respect that. but you have no idea how many videos there are accusing Auburn that year of "cheap shots" and "bad" ref calls and "attempted murder". haha jk but you get my point. and yes Auburn and Clemson were evenly matched that day and it could have gone either way. and Clemson was a way better team than their record showed at the end.

  • @Bradysrush then get the fuck off of the video if you dont like it goddamn not that hard i dont want to argue on youtube so lets just leave it at that?

  • @chinknamedchingpow no. i saw the video. i made a comment ABOUT THE VIDEO. you replied, therefore i came back to the video. simple. fuck off.

  • @Bradysrush show me your titis bitch

  • @chinknamedchingpow titis - A New World shrub or small tree. wtf

  • @Bradysrush lmao that was funny all bullshit aside i enjoyed this conversation going back to the video i dont think mcneal meant to hit him in the back though he lead with his helmet but thats football and shits gonna happen after all this isnt soccer

  • nothing illegal about the hit he slid head first

  • @greenej10 leading with your helmet is illegal

  • auburn piece of shit once again

  • It's football. Stop whining.

  • His knee was down about half a second before. But usually players do this to stop them from falling forward. But Mcneil will be in prison next year so don't worry. should be a good game

  • well the hardest part of getting into auburn is opening the door they are not very smart, they are the wanna be alabama so dont expect them to know how to hit, they cant even recruit all they do is buy their players. let all the little boys talk shit to me who gives a damn

  • If he didn't want to get hit, he should have slid feet first.

  • Oh get over it.. this is the SEC

  • Welcome to the SEC

  • Oh you gay auburn fan, he clearly lowered his helmet and speared kyle. Thats why they won and auburn cheats and cheap shots

  • @gcreww122

If the bitch didn't wanna get hit, he should have slid feet first. This is the SEC homeboy. I know you ACC fags are used to playing grab butt with each other every Saturday, but when you come to the SEC, you better buckle up the chin strap.

  • @llamawizard we actually had alot more big hits than Auburn did this game

  • @gcreww122 Funny coming from a fan of a school thats known as "Auburn with a lake"

  • perfeclty legal hit,

  • @jet7111 hey I used to watch your videos. I remember. lol

  • @jet7111

No it wasn't, it was clearly spearing. A personal foul that is rarely called.

  • Nothing controversial about it. Just a football play that happens every play. What a ridiculous video.

  • Players from every team do that in every game, people like you just like to pick and choose certain ones to whine and bitch about. Im sorry the kid got hurt and i hope hes ok, im a former safety/linebacker i was known as a hard hitter but i hate to see ANYBODY get hurt on a football field. But the truth is, is football is football shit happens. If you dont like it watch baseball or something.

  • @budboy1988 lol kyle parker IS going to play baseball now. i put this up because at the time it really affected the game, and now after the season Parker has been having problems ever since. Also if you played linebacker, you should know your not supposed to lead with your helmet thats basics man.

  • @lordseal92 I honestly believe Mike was trying to get his head down to get under him and avoid the hit, it just didnt happen. Anyone who has played football will tell you its really hard to stop and avoid contact when your full force into it. I hate it happened like that but its just hard for me to believe this was a blatant dirty hit.

  • Thanks for leading in with your helmet, should have been a fifteen yard penalty.

  • This hit and game ruined Kyle Parker and the Tigers this season. Glad Parkers gone. Hopefully we can get back to the old ways of beating the gamecocks every year and become the powerhouse of the ACC. Go Tigers!

  • well ya know...the pussy shouldnt of been running.....and y the fuck did he slide INTO him and with 4 auburn players around him......garcia would have droped his shoulder like a real man.....it was a clean hit....get up little bitch

  • @XxensleyxX No, Garcia would have fumbled it. Shut the fuck up.

  • It's football, not two hand touch... that's everyday SEC football for you. Sorry you're just now hearing this, but the ACC is no where near as physical as the SEC.

  • @S0MPPI Im pretty damn sure we were the ones dishing out the big hits this game and who knows maybe u didn't watch the game, but the only reason you guys won was because of a kicker. Just because yall are heading to a NC now don't act like you just blew by everybody, and go around insulting teams that played you to the wire, and then insulting their entire confrence. Man whats wrong with you...

  • @lordseal92 That's the Auburn way.

  • @lordseal92 I'll admit that Clemson to this point in the season was good. But they never recovered from this game. Harper had happy feet from being slammed on every dive play. Parker was not the same afterwards. And Ellington couldn't do it all for the rushing game. And Clemson receivers dropped the ball a lot after this game too. And to say the kicker lost it is a little much. That was to TIE the game, not win it. I don't think Clemson would've just walked away with the game after this point.

  • @bigpeace90 I know ur not a Clemson fan, so i dont blame you for not understanding the frustration we have had with kickers over the last few years. Im pretty quick to throw any kicker under the bus just because of the horrible luck we seem to have kicking the ball, thats why I said what I did. But don't forget right before that kick, we had a wide open reciever in the endzone who parker slightly overthrew and our receiver let slip off his fingertips which would have won the game,

  • @S0MPPI yeah because the SEC is teh only conference that puts on pads and hits.im sick of the SEC love fest crap.the SEC is just like any other conference 2-3 good teams and the rest average to below average.

  • That's Mike, not Demetruce, McNeil.

    War Eagle!

  • Alright lordseal92....this is NOT Demetruce Mcneal, Demetruce is #12. It is Mike Mcneal, just saying. The move was legal because Mike was going for the assist on the tackle and Parker turned around..that is all on Parker not Mike.

  • HAHAHA PARKER WASNT EVEN DOWN..and he didnt even slide..he was lowering his back into the contact...im wondering what was the hardest hit though..parker taking that shot...or when the field goal was missed parker throwing his helmet on the ground..either way...gamecocks own kyle parker..OWN!!!!! BASEBALL AND FOOTBALL LORDSEAL..EAT THAT ONE UP

  • @gamecockshawn as usual, a cock fan talking trash and we aren't even 5 games into the season, typical

  • @lordseal92 I know! you don't see Clemson fans talking trash about USC when there not even playing them. USC fans have some of the BIGGEST heads ive ever seen. My favorite thing about Clemson...our fans, students, and players are classy winners and losers.

  • @lordseal92 Seriously. They fail to understand that Clemson OWNS Willie Bryce stadium. They don't like to talk about that though.

  • @gamecockshawn two championships one baseball the other womens indoor track and field so go screw yourself with your 2 trophys coot.

  • I'm sure the Rockies weren't happy seeing their draft pick getting pounded by Allbarn

  • It happens so fast there's no way the refs could have caught that, if it indeed is a legit penalty. Parker probably won't be trying that same move anytime soon.

  • @phisigrocksusc Parker is a tough SOB, he wont ever change the way he plays

  • i laugh at clemson fans crying about this hit..if it had went the other way they would have been grabbing their little balls and claiming how good they are..you got beat idiots..you blew a 17 point lead because auburn made the halftime adjustments where coach dodo sweeney did not..now his face is covered with it..you are what gamecock will said you are..redneck losers...choke artists..spillerless..go back to the upstate of sc and enjoy your moral win lol..thats all you guys can claim

  • he speared him in the back, lead with his helmet and on top of that it was a late hit. he knew what he was doing, you have some dirty players and you have some players that have a sense of decency this is just one of the dirty ones that ruins the game for everyone. but what goes around comes around if he does that too often he'll break his neck.

  • @Xwasabi59X You obviously never played football! Can you believe this guy? Im an Alabama fan who hates Auburn, but I back this play up 100%. When I played there were no legal illegal hits, you play till the whistle blows or the guy runs out of bounds.

  • @pizzarican84 how he was on the fucking ground gtfo me with this shit just because your fat ass played center in flag football doesnt mean he lead with his helmet, thats one penalty he was on the ground, thats a late hit, another penalty, please be more educated on the subject your arguing about you stupid fuck.

  • Hate to see Parker get hurt, hes a good QB, but if you watch the tape, Mcneal is already committed to his angle, and Parker gets turned around by the other Auburn player. it looks kind of like Mcneal tries to stop (knee and left hand on ground) but it was a little too late.. just one of those quirky fluke play, still sucks for parker,

  • It was a dirty hit considering nobody tackles somebody who is clearly going down and then goes through the trouble to go so far down to hit him he is on his knees And has his head lowered. Based on how fast it all happened he may not have meant it but it was dirty nonetheless

  • Clemson fans always blame the refs or have a lavish excuse of why there middle of the road team doesn't win every game. Clemson did't loose because of this play, if the long snapper didn't pump fake the snap for the field goal they would have went into double ot. And Clemson has a ton of "thugs" dressing for every game so what do you get of blaming other teams for it?

  • @wtmt803 I'm in no way blaming the refs or making excuses, but this is play definitely impacted the rest of the game.

  • @lordseal92 Are quarterbacks taught to slide if they don't want to take a blow? Please review the clip again. Parker begins to lower his head and throw a hit, then remembers that it might hurt.

  • @wtmt803 and if the refs called offsides on the AU LB that was a yard and a half in the backfield before the ball was snapped they would have been able to run another play before having to kick the FG.

  • By the way, auburn has been notorious for playing dirty. They chop blocked Clemson's Dorrel Scott in the peach bowl, tearing his ACL, and did the exact same thing to Lsu's Glenn Dorsey, sidelining him. Not to mention about 3 or 4 other egregiously dirty illegal plays in the Clemson game the other night. I guess they realized when they were getting whipped at halftime that they wouldn't win without cheating. Just sorry the refs let them get away with it.

  • A large number of serious spinal and head traumas, coupled with a lack of penalty-calling by referees, has resulted in tougher restrictions concerning the use of helmets in NCAA games. According to National Collegiate Athletic Association's 2005 Football Rules and Interpretations: "No player shall use his helmet (including the face mask) to butt or ram an opponent or attempt to punish him. There shall be no spearing. No player shall strike a runner with the crown or the top of his helmet...."

  • Y'all clearly don't know the rules. First, his knee is down and the auburn thug clearly went out of his way to put his helmet in Parker's back and injure him. Second, it doesn't matter a lick if he is on his knee or on his feet. That type of contact is explicitly ILLEGAL! Read the ncaa official rule above. The auburn thug's contack was a textbook example of an illegal hit. He should have been tossed and the crooked refs didn't even throw a flag. Clemson wins that game if auburn doesn't cheat.

  • That hit was extremely legit. Parker was NOT down, and it was NOT head-to-head. Learning what the SEC is all about? Now THAT it was.

  • @JWilliamsProduction Im really not sure if it was legal or not, cause ur not supposed to lead with your helmet and all, but I know for a FACT that we were hitting just as hard if not way harder than yall, so don't get what ur SEC statement is all about.

  • legal hit

  • Yeah that was a illegal hit but it wasn't called.
