You released this in 1948? Even though Muddy first recorded it in 1950? Who is fabriblues? What does the Chess single have to with this "video"? What the heck?
holy shit this is AMAAZING!!! blues is all about feeling... and all i hear from this is pure unadulterated emotion! i love this, and i know why jimi liked it too!
I never like to trash peoples playing or singing (especially if they are lovers of the lost art of blues) but I saw this video linked from a page showing the lyrics of this song. Many people have seen that same link and for some, THIS may be their first experience with this song....the playing is bad...the voice is bad. I hope people who could possibly form a love for the blues aren't put off from this version. Sorry if I offend fabriblues
@PierreMoore i never link any song, i just download in youtube , i can`t control the links of the videos ,the tittle is clear : performed by fabriblues , you don`t offend me , is just another comment , they are a lot of people doing blues versions , i don`t think the blues is a lost art, whether this or another of my songs can help the blues keep on living, will have accomplished my goal
Ahhhh - so that is where The Stones stole Midnight Rambler and Jimmi Hendrix stole Voodoo Child from.. but hey, that is what music is, ain't no shame to it, steal what's there and add somthing to it. Same think this guy did. Thanks for posting! Brilliant.
It's actually good, the only problem I have is the distortion, make it a bit cleaner and it'll be really awesome.. This sounds really rough and interesting.
Well you're right man, this song is "Catfish Blues", That you can find of jimi on the album "Blues" and "Catfish blues" will become "Voodoo Child", the veton that we all know...
I totaly agree agree with you Muddy was and is the boss I got to see him 4 times in 4 states. The last time was in Huntington Beach Ca I was 5 ft. from the stage, got to shake his hand. He was my Elvis
Hey voice and guitar sounds great...! I like it:) It was really fast, though you started out like Muddys original. Check out Honeyboy Edwards' version, its got a nice groove as well.

Try an Em chord followed by a bend on the 2nd fret of the G string and lifting off to the open. I think you can figure most of it out from there.
Nighthawkinlight 2 years ago
But what is the original my friend, Robert Petway, Tommy McLennans buddy, did it WELL before Muddy, and others too, a traditional theme in blues.
