  • What was the glycerin for?

  • this girl deserves a better camera.

  • hi first comment in a year!!

  • WIRE HANGERS AHRGHARHGARHG

  • I think your shows are great, but that isn't how to make distilled water. To make distilled water the vapor from boiling water needs to be condensed and collected into a sperate container from the boiling water.

  • God I can't wait til the holidays!!! I LOVE the snow globe idea! I liked the wire hanger idea to...even though you screaming scared me...I wasn't expecting it!! You're WONDERFUL at what you do!

  • I am still a little confused on this video. It makes me laugh though. haha! Youtube= freedom of the videos... haha, gotta love it.

  • The party looked like u guys were having fun!!

  • NO WIRE HANGERS!!!

  • LOL! Indeed! I flashed back to my childhood, (probably waaaaay too young to see Joan Crawford portrayed on a rampage,) when my mom was obsessed with Mommy Dearest, to the point I am Christina Darling's namesake ... I still shutter when I find a wire hanger in the back of the closet...

  • Oh, and so nice to see Meg is back! I had wondered if she and her man had decided to stay hunkered down in their honeymoon nest forever! I have been waiting to ask if Meg had any uber-cheap and clever ideas for storage of crafty things? I never have enough space, and I rent, so keeping the picky snoopy landlord in mind, I would love to see what ideas she has for things like yarn, fabric, art materials, papers, paints, all sorts of the like. Just an idea to kick around. Thanks much!

  • It was tempting to honeymoon for the rest of our lives, but I missed you Threadbangers so much I had to come back.

My "creative space/office" is STRUGGLIN'! Both Corinne and I battle the supplies daily and are working on doing a show on this. Send in pics of your space and we'll see how we can help.

    xox, Meg

  • instead of cinnamon sticks is it good if i used star anise?

  • I like the mirror idea with candles but my jeart jumps with joy for snow globes!

  • I love Meg.

  • I enjoyed this episode a lot. =D

    Gotta love the jarglobes.

  • I prefer to just nail a dead reindeer up to the wall. Mucheesier.

  • i like the comedic relief

    :]

  • Very interesting and informative. I even learned a few things. I liked it.

    P.S.

It also reminded me to slow down and smell the roses.

    Penny

  • at 1:00/1:01 - didnt this babe take a swig of bourbon?

  • Entertaining video...

    ugly projects

  • A FEW WERE A LIL BLAND BUT MOST WERE CUTE

  • I love the projects. Meg provided several cool, quick, easy and cheap ideas. Don't be ungrateful. LOVE THIS SHOW!!!

  • Then don't watch. We made this show to answer the many requests for gift ideas on a tight budget.

It's odd you find a recycled orange peel as trash. At Threadbanger we like to re-use and recycle as much as possible.

    -Meg

  • I agree with meg- why do you watch it if you don't like it? So you can post hurtful comments? That's sad, dude.

Meg, this was great! Wonderful to have you back. And I wanted to add that another idea is to take an orange and poke cloves in it, all over, so it's covered. this can be put in your closet or bathroom for a nice smell.

    Love you Meg!

  • I love those toodaloose, they smell amazing. You can make shapes with the cloves and hang them or yes, they are perfect to freshen up the closet. Keep those great ideas coming!

    xox, Meg

  • hey Meg,

i saw you wore a silvery hat in one of the episode, and thats gorgeous, love that.

    any way to make it???

    Luv ur Show.

  • wait, the first wed. of every month? There's only 1 decor it yourself each month? D:

  • Very enjoyable holiday video. Keep spreading the cheer!

  • "aw look at us living together in sin" LAMO!

  • great video! entertaining too lmao. baking is also a cheep gift :D

  • lmao at 2:07! <3!

  • this was great!

i specially loved the snow globe thingy.

  • ehhh who is the guy in the red? RIDE

  • THANK YOU! I really appreciate the creative ideas that don't cost a lot. It's so rad that you gave us this. Of course you can go buy stuff that doesn't include "orange peels", but if you know anything about good housekeeping, you'll know how essential they are. Nice work Meg.

  • The snow globe is adorable! I love the little deer you used for it. How clever. And the wire sayings is a cool way to decorate without spending a dime. Nice!

  • Look at the walls. Why do you have so much crap? You don't have to have things hung on every inch of wall space.

  • Don't you dare insult people's homes. That is NOT acceptable here.

  • Disagreeing with the quality of a certain episode is one thing, but this comment of yours is just pointless and mean. Are you 13 or something? (That's with an apology to the mature, thoughtful 13 year-olds I know.) Go away, Grinch.

  • I'm sorry your house is a barren wasteland. Some people actually like to have their lives filled with things they love.

  • Agreed. I don't like the word clutter. I have tons of things in my home, but it's my home and my decision. The word clutter should be banned.

    I love this show!!!!!

  • Sorry, but these are crap gift ideas! Coming from a child in pre school, these would be great. But, adults??? Actually, the ideas are ok, but the execution was crappy.

I think you could work on polishing most of your projects. Boiled water is NOT the same as distilled water. If you want to be taken more seriously, you need to be more careful about the information you're putting out there. (I remember the shelves going up without anchors!)

  • There was a blog posted with that episode with all the info you could ever want about anchors. It was very informative and helpful. She's doing an awesome job, so shove off if you don't dig it.

  • Hey, I wish I could! But, I am interested in the Thread banger stuff, and this seems to be a package deal.

  • Great ideas Meg.

Have a great holiday and give that Gracie a holiday pet for me.

  • Awesome ideas, but over half of them involved glitter. I guess we should buy in bulk.

  • That was a fast party!

  • I made my grandma a snowglobe once!

  • i think its funny she said "bye guys thanks for coming" then a few seconds later their all in her house. its like WTF?! but i liked all the stuff

  • lol i thought rob pattison was there! Wow awesome ideas thanks!

  • Boiling water kills bacteria it doesn't distill it (distilling removes impurities like minerals as well as killing micro-organisms).

  • those are zero-budget gifts..lol

  • oh no! its mommy dearest~!

  • 2:07

    wtf?

  • Is it safe to burn a candle with glitter on it? =/

  • Meg!!

    You're amazing!

  • awesome but i wonder where did my last comment go:(

  • Guy in red is hot.

  • I didn't love this episode, im sorry. I wouldnt give any of those gifts, and the episode seemed it was made in a rush.. :S

but thats just my opinion, maybe others loved the episode. thanks though!!

  • "I didn't love this episode, im sorry. I wouldnt give any of those gifts, and the episode seemed it was made in a rush.. :S

but thats just my opinion, maybe others loved the episode. thanks though!!"

Agreed. Meg set the bar high for herself, and this one didn't live up to the expectations.

  • i love how in the beginning shes trying to act proper but theres like 30 liqour bottles behind her ahahhahaaaa

  • Glitter is the devil's tool.

  • lol, what? Glitter is awesome! >:D

  • meg is cute and always has great ideas...

But if someone gave me orange peels as a gift i'd probably just think it was a prank.

"lawls you got garbage in a jar."

    D:

  • LOL I was thinking the same thing...

A half-dead little plant-in-a-cup and a jar full of orange peels isn't what I would want to offer someone as a token of my affection.

Making cloth, customized coasters would be a cute gift, though. It would be nice to add some embroidery, or a fancy trim (beads, lace, whathaveyou,) around the coasters' edges, to fit the personal style of whomever you're giving them to.

  • why is the quality so bad for this episode?

  • did you try clicking on "watch in high quality"?

    it makes a big difference.

    i hope that helps.

  • it did! thnx

I never noticed that button before haha

  • Well, if you want rust and mineral build up in your little doo-dad from using boiled instead of distilled water, be my guest.

Then again, rust and minerals mingling with the glitter may seem festive to eco-nazis, but Martha Stewart would not approve.

  • Actually, it said in the episode that destilled is boiling then allowing to cool. This was learned FROM Martha, so I think she would. Thanks though.

  • Boiling and allowing to cool--true! But the point is, HOW LONG to boil the water. Just bringing to the boiling point will not distill it. Fact is, the distilling is actually the steam that comes back down, not the water that stays in the pot. Martha doesn't know *everything*.

Distilled water is available very cheaply. I use it for ironing.

  • I love love looovvee all those ideas! :) thanks Meg! you rock!

  • hahaha "look at us, living together in sin..."

  • HAHAHA. I like choked on my cracker when you said the "look at us, living in sin" part. Heehee. :]

  • Some of the rest of us didn't like it so much. What exactly was the point???

  • It's when she wasn't married, it was a sin to live with someone who wasn't your spouse.

  • "It's when she wasn't married, it was a sin to live with someone who wasn't your spouse."

I know, yokoshiro. What I meant was, what was the point of making that smirky comment at all? It didn't add anything to the episode. In fact, it detracted and distracted from the theme.

Meg, you can do better. Your charm and wit do not need snarkiness attached. Just continue what you already do so well.

  • If I sprinkled glitter around like that the cat would be covered in it!

  • It has been noted that Glitter is the herpes of craft items....no matter how hard you can't get rid of it and it shows up at the most in opportune times.... Great tips....

  • Nice one Meg! I'm totally making that snowglobe! Thanks!

  • this was great.

    i love your dress.

  • welcome back meg!

    oh how i've missed you!

  • Cute I love all those ideas! Will definitely be using some of them!

  • Specially during these hard times!!! I love it!!!

    Peace

  • O-M-G I hear jingle bells too! Ahh! That cracked me up. Holidays are really stressful! The guy who made the diagnostic stress test refused to drop "holidays" from the list of stress factors, because he believed that holidays were stressful. I hope you have have a good one, Meg. :)

  • "especially during these hard times" haha lol hilarious!

  • I love the plant idea! I have a bunch of mugs that I get every year from people that I can never use. That's what happens when you're a coffee addict! I'm going to plant herbs in mine as all my friends love to cook!

I also found some sweet window screen and a cheap frame at a second hand store and I'm going to make an earring rack for my sis! I'm going to spray paint it teal with a gold "L" in the middle for her name, she's going to love it!

  • I loved it.

    =]

  • I hear jingle bells xD

  • That was great Meg! and Gracie looked so adorable at the end.

LOVE the plant idea btw. I'm going to use some overgrown basil I have and give it to my friend who just moved into her new place. Oh, and the snow globe idea was sweet.

  • Plain boiled water isn't "distilled" water. Boiled water is sanitized, but not distilled. Distilled water is made by collecting the steam from boiling water. Don't they teach this in elementary school anymore?

  • wow.

nice holiday spirit ya got there, buddy!

  • nope =3

  • Teehee that was cute to watch :)

Love the gift and decor ideas!

  • wow the snow globe idea is wicked

  • yeah coooool hi love ya hahaha

  • I think Druids do.

  • Agreed. Why are the words Christmas and Hanukkah all of a sudden stricken from the vocabulary? It is, after all, the reason for the season. And I don't get why so many people thumbed-down this comment. It's a perfectly valid point. You can celebrate Christmas without being Christian, but at least continue to call it by its name.

Happy Hanukkah to all my Jewish Threadbanger friends!

  • Happy all other holidays celebrated this season around the world too. :)

  • actually, various pagan holidays celebrating the solstice are the reason for the season. The Catholic church made Christmas around this time to make it easier to convert people, since they wouldn't have to give up a holiday.

  • "actually, various pagan holidays celebrating the solstice are the reason for the season. The Catholic church made Christmas around this time to make it easier to convert people, since they wouldn't have to give up a holiday."

I'm well aware of that. But last time I looked, Saturnalia wasn't a big draw anymore. 1600+ years of history and practice have cemented observing the birth of Christ in December. Hanukkah goes back even further--or at least, the incident it commemorates does.

  • So I guess it's a cycle, first the Christians bastardized Saturnalia with the birth of their sheep herding deity, now those nasty Atheists are bastardizing it with general goodwill to all.

People celebrate whatever they choose to celebrate. Saying "Happy Holidays" isn't alienating anyone, unless you feel alienated by the fact that others are being included, in which case, eat a bag of dicks.

  • Well now, aren't you just a lovely example of general goodwill to all. Have fun with that lump of coal Santa brings you.

  • I don't think I need to be tolerant of intolerance.

  • It's not intolerant to say that the words Christmas and Hanukkah should not be eliminated from the holiday (holy day) season they represent. It's intolerant to insist that they are and pretend they never existed.

At any rate, I'll leave you with your illogic and wish you a festive Whatever.

  • Threadbangers.... I love you....

  • AH! loved it!

  • it's even better the second time LOL THANKS MEG!!!! Love your guts!

  • hihihihihihih\
