who cares if you can technically park there when its snowing? if there is even a slightly better place to park, DO IT. give those hard working guys a break! You boobs have no idea how hard it is to free up equipment like that. sliding with the crown of the road and hitting those cars was basically inevitable. Unfortunate? yes, but that happens. getting that machine back to work asap clearing roads for doctors, emergency vehicles etc. is far more important.
@cumminsfan Bs ive drove one and got them unstuck. i have one on my farm. its not that hard. If they can even drive a front end loader then they could do a better job than that thats pathetic. Try saying that if that was your car.
@1955Skippy Obviously you don't drive it very often then. I grew up in South Dakota and know what WET PACKED SNOW does in those types of treads. You mentioned a FARM which means you get a great mixture of DIRT thus a different type of traction. Truth is, these aren't the vehicles to use, and those tires without the proper chains with TEETH on them was improper. As for the disregard for property, that was a management decision to prioritize usage over care. It happens, its called reality!
it was a smart decision to crush that car...people dont understand the value of that loader in a storm....unplowed roads will in the end cost more than that pos car
The video uploader posted a prequel video that shows the lack of care put into freeing the front end loader. This is just the end result of a series of (deliberately?) bad decisions and a lack of due care by the MTA and department of sanitation.
One more reason not for me to be in cities... aye.
How many experienced front end loader operators do you think NY city has? How many experienced tow truck drivers?
No matter how strong or capable the dirty hands employees in local government are, they get exhausted, they make mistakes. They have to have relief. Who relieves them?
The garbage truck drivers, the mechanics, the bus drivers, the foremen, maybe even the supervisors.
Now that congress and senate have slagged the heroes of 9/11, who would want a dirty hands job with NY City?
