The problem with arming Police officers for the hopefully rare occasion that they have to use lethal force, is that they lack the day-to-day familiarity of actually firing in stressful situations. and I don't mean rage time.

Military CQB training is intense, relentless and constantly updated. By comparison Police training is less that a tenth of what's required to be effective.
