FireWire 400 vs. FireWire 800

when video is playing, it outputs to firewire device as DVCAM or DV converter for example Sony DVMC-DA1 or 2; any DV device. I worked with Sony Vegas, Premier, AfterEffect, Avid and yes they can playback video to Firewire device. But I want to output video to firewire when media player are playing video, is there any driver/plugin as Matrox's WYSIWYG out there that allow video output to firewire/DV device without using video editing software to playback video to firewire device? TQ in advance

Matrox have a driver/plugin called WYSIWYG that allow user to install and playback any video from any Media Player to their hardware video out. Is there a software and/or driver that will let user playback video from standard media player, for example Windows media player, Quicktime player, Realplayer etc...

i got a usb to fire wire but some how my computer wont recognized it? em i gonna need a external firewire port? cuz my computer dont have a 6 pin or a 4 pin firewire port this really sucks i just got a brand new camera and i wanted to get the footage out of it then i i had some problems with all this fire wire stuff..its a bummer

I have an IMAC and I have a Belkin 400 FW Hub plugged into it. I have 2 DV cameras plugged into this hub but for some reason the IMAC only recognizes one camera when both are on. Do I need to upgrade my hub or FW cables to 800? I switched cables, restarted computer but it still only recognizes on camera. What do you think I should do? upgrade hub and wires? get a 800 adapter? HELP!
